My texting stop working can anyone help me i install aosp rom gingerbread rom and when my friend text me i dont have the message
You would probably get a response if you titled the thread correctly.
Flash a sense Rom. Send, receive text, then flash back to gingerbread.
Flash a sense Rom, update profile and prl, flash back. Should be good then.

We can cross that bridge when we get there. 99% of the time updating your profile/prl will solve it.

Just like aqualls said, make a nand of your current rom, flash a sense rom, liquidsense or nfx are both fine choices, update your prl and profile, should be under about phone section in settings, I believe. Send a few texts and receive a few while on sense, and then nand back to whatever you had. cake and pie.

Also, once you update and go to restore your previous nand, make a nand of the sense rom so you can jump back whenever and update.

Hi, I have a HTC HERO CDMA (2.1 Update) my carrier is Open Mobile. My question is , if I flash a custom rom , for example this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=742407) my phone can still working with my carrier ?? if can't work, what can I do to add my carrier APN info to the rom ??
PD: I have the Open Mobile APN Info.
bump. I have the same question. Figured id bump an old thread then make a new one
My buddy has a Hero CDMA from Open Mobile (identical to the Sprint Hero) I wanted to know if i can use the same custom roms on this one
thanks
Yes, I have one on nTelos. It works perfectly fine. Depending on the ROM you may have have Sprint headers everywhere, but that's easily fixed.

+1. Search the Eris theme and apps forum for Carrier Change Name app to change the Sprint headers. Works wonderful.

Right now I'm rocking the latest version of AOSP's Gingerbread ROM. I'm really impressed with how it runs but I the same issue with every nonstock Rom. MMS won't send! I've searched high and low and tried editing apns-conf.XML a hundred different ways. What am I missing and how do I fix it? Any Cellular South user's had success?

wow, you are running gingerbread without any problems on CS? i was thinking about doing it but was concerned that it would be unstable/unreliable since i use my phone for work and depended on it to work when i need it to.
Its actually pretty stable on these here heros lol at least for me. Everything works fine, way better than stock IMO

where did you find the file? Also, have u had any problems with any rom with CS? Im with sprint but the wife is with CS and im a little confussed with that rooting and stuff for CS. I know that you shouldnt flash any radios besides the one that is on the RUU from CS but any little tips you can give me? Thanks.
Also the file, a link to download it?
I'm about to root my Hero for the first time but I want to know how to go back to factory default if I ever have to take it in to get fixed? The furthest I'm going to go is gain root access so I can turn it into a hot spot.
The easiest way would be to use the forum search. It will bring you your answers.

Three little letters. RUU.

I used universal androot, it supposedly has a one-click unroot feature, or you could always run the RUU.
Regardless, I doubt you'll ever go back to stock. I, too, rooted only for wifi tether then I realized how much better custom roms were. Fast forward a few months and I'm running gingerbread and you couldn't pay me to go back to stock.

I'm running Damagecontrol 1.1 right now. I would like to go to 2.2 or 2.3 I can't seem to find a answer for which ROM I can use that will work with Metropcs. I've burned up the Search here! So if someone could point me in the right direction would be great.
Thanks,
Rick
I really don't think the carrier has anything to do with it but the brand of phone.. as long as u get a rom for the hero u should be fine..

Looks like there's two different hero versions in the forums. Cdma and non cdma. I don't know whether or not PCs is cdma or GSM but pick a rom for whichever service ur running.. hope this helps.

Metro PCS is a CDMA network. AFAIK, you'll only brick if you flash a gsm radio, not roms. I flashed a gsm rom once. It didn't work, just bootlooped, but I fixed it. Any of the roms in here should flash fine to your phone.

I have a cdma htc hero i tried to flash a radio dont remember witch one but now it wont turn on or charge is there anything i can do to get it to turn back on
If you flashed a GSM radio, then no. You are the proud owner of a Hero shaped paperweight. Find a link to the radio thread. It may make it easier to see if we can fix it.
