I have searched for days and asked the ones who have created the dual boot rom files and havent had any replies. If someone can give me the info on how to make this dual boot CM7 rom I will update future CM7 nightlies when they come out.
Thanks

could anyone help me determine the difference nad once i pick one how do i flash it to my sprint hero? thanks if anybody can help a beginner
ok i figured out which rom and it is the aosp version. one last question though, how do you flash the gaaps so i can get them back
Flash the Gapps from recovery, after you flash the ROM

Either one of the 2 roms you posted are good, stick with these 2 though. They are about the only ones left still being updated as most developers have moved on to newer phones The kernels in these 2 roms are updated as well, no need to flash a separate kernel The good thing about devs moving on is when we get a new phone think of all the new roms and mods already made for the device

There are 2 main builds right now in the development forum...Texacice's build based on Evervolv AOSP http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366897....and BCM based on CM9 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1557606...both are great in their own right and personal preference will dictate which you use. Both have functioning HWA...have for a while now and both require BR partitions of 220 10 16...or close to that. There are a couple ICS roms out there that dont need a new boot partition, but frankly I wouldnt bother, as they are not complete full ICS roms. The only major functionality missing currently is video recording...although that looks to be close to fixed also. You can actually flash a new boot partition via recovery without installing blackrose. See this thread....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1637166...and select the ICS partition and flash in recovery prior to installing new rom.
Correction: you do need BlackRose for that.
if u want to flash ICS roms. u need to first knw abt Blackrose. read it carefully before proceeding

ok thanks a lot to everyone, you all have been very helpful. these 2 roms mentioned are both "final" roms right? they're not beta, RC or whatever, aside form video recording that is annoying but i can live without it
btw i have root but i have the bootloader locked. can i still install br and do all the other stuff?
yes u can install with locked bootloader.
no they are not RC or beta releases. they are not final aswell, the devs are really working hard and pushing regular updates to make the rom better and complete.

Hello Forum,
I am very new to rooting devices and installing custom ROMs.
I have a few questions I would like to ask, I searched the forum and couldn't find appropriate answers.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399 (This being one of the threads)
I was going through the sticky thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1789397
Which says, "WARNING: Do NOT use CM9, Asylum CM9 or AniDroid kernels as drivers on ANY CM10 based Rom - and vice-versa!"
I had recently flashed CM9.1 on my galaxy note GT-N7000, by following the instructions mentioned on their wiki page.
Just installed clock work recovery, entered the recovery mode, did a WIPE & installed CM9.1 & google apps.
After a few days I followed the same procedure and flashed CM10's latest preview. It went well and everything seems to be working, except that
the phone is a tad bit laggy and doesn't really deliver what JB is supposed to deliver. Sometime the power button won't wake the screen up.
This can be because CM10 is still in preview stage and the stable release is not out. But now that thread I mentioned before kind of bothers me.
Do I need to update the kernel while switching from CM9 to CM10? Downloads are available in the same thread. Or does the kernel update on its own while flashing CM10? And if I have to update the kernel do I need to have CF-Root? Does the fact that I have clock work recovery on my device mean that I have CF-Root?
Sorry if my question is too noob-ish, I just wan't to know a little theory behind what I'm doing so I don't screw my device. None of the threads that I found in the search explain things simply. I would be really glad if anyone of you could help me just understand things. I really appreciate this community for having put up so much information, thanks in advance!
Hi guys I bought my touchpad and the previous owner has aokp 40 running ics installed. Obviously I want to upgrade to more stable and current cm10. I know nothing about aokp and the recovery menu is quirky on the touchpad does anyone have experience with this upgrade?
I've listened to the idiots guide to installing cm10 from revkjr that work to go from aokp to cm? I really don't know the differences between these roms, most of my experience is with cm
Sorry if repost this topic isn't easily found on Google/forums

How is the recovery menu quirky? If something is odd about it, update it first before anything else. Otherwise, the procedure for flashing CM and AOKP are the same. Download full wipe, and flash.

Have a read of this excellent guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2111734 it will have all the links you may need.
First off, if it doesnt have the latest CWM Recovery on it, you can get it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2170454
Second, After you update your recovery, all you need to do is download a CM10 ROM and the Gapps, boot into recovery and wipe data, cache and dalvik and flash both files. That should be it.
I've trying to install SlimKat build 7.0 Official 5942, with no sucess. Everytime I get an error status 7, that this needs a KK bootloader. I've seen that Atrix HD still has no KK bootloader, on JB. What do I need to install it? I been reading posts everywhere, long time with no clue what I am doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated greatly.
Also, I was trying to flash CyanFox, but official site seems to be unavailable since December, under the promise of being back ver soon. Anyone has a copy of the last rom they released? I've seen a lot of good comments about it, enough to use it as daily rom while we wait for the site to come back online. Please share a copy if you have it
Edit: Forgot to mention, I have unlocked the BL, and installed some customs roms already. Tryed with Philz and CWW 6.0.4.4...
Perhaps try CWM 6.0.5.1, might have more success (I'm not saying you will, I'm saying you might, it can't hurt to try it):
