You would be best to start at the wiki. Depending on whether you are running a custom recovery, custom ROM, stock ROM, Android version etc the information we can give to help will differ. The wiki has pretty much every answer we can help with

Hi, guys,
the power button of my Nexus one was broken. I am thinking to root it and install customed ROM. it is currently running stock ROM, and it is unlocked.
I read a lot, but I still have a question: can I root it and install customed ROM without power button?
I asked, because i am not sure if i have to use power button to enter recovery, for example, to Boot into Amon_Ra's Recovery.
thanks
JD
I saw the application, Fix Broken Button. does it work well?
thanks,

If you're referring to the bootloader being unlock than you can use fastboot
to install a custom recovery I think.
You can boot into recovery via adb:
adb reboot recovery
thanks for the reply.
which ROM supports using trackball as power button?

There is NO ROM that will power on the device with trackball.
hi everybody
I bought this phone and the home button not working
first i want somebody to tell if have a custom rom or is the original ICS (See attachment)
Second, how can i check the button, like before boot
victorlht88 said:
looks like its running on stock rom.
you can try flashing another rom via odin, i've faced the same issue before when i removed certain apks in custom roms before flashing.
else boot into recovery mode and see if your home button can function when you make the selections.

Stock Recovery !
The G-Note has a stock recovery function as well. Just turn off your phone and hold the volume-up + Home + Power to enter into recovery. if this is successful then your home button functionality is good.

Hello all. I an S-Off running ViperOne and decided to update my firmware, but I used the 4.20.651.10 Modified Firmware....removed recovery (fastboot flashable) instead of the one with the removed boot as well. Now it's just at the white HTC screen after I rebooted. Any way to get out of this situation? I made a nandroid before I did anything.
Restore your backup or dirty flash your rom
Will I need to re-flash the correct firmware after restoring nandroid?

You shouldn't have to but you can if you want.
The reason it didn't boot is because the zip you flashed had the LP boot.img/kernel included.

Got it, thanks. All I was trying to do was update the firmware before trying the new ViperOne and I almost had a heart attack when it wasn't booting. I didn't realize you could do vol. up + power to simulate a battery pull, or I wouldn't have even needed to make this thread. Thanks for your help.

If you are trying to get to bootloader after doing a "battery pull" hold power and volup until device turns off, then while still holding power switch to voldown then release power while still holding voldown
Hello all,
I haven't touched my M7 in about 6 months but I figure it's time I try to fix it. Here are the following symptoms of my problem: it won't boot past the splash screen, it won't boot into recovery, and it doesn't like powering up unless it's plugged into a wall socket.
Is there any way I can RUU this or force it into fastboot or recovery?
press vol down + power button to enter bootloader and then choose fastboot
Sorry should have specified that I already tried that.
Is it unlocked or not? Does it have stock or custom recovery?

Did you try holding the power button for few seconds till capacitive buttons start flashing? After they stop keep holding the power button and press vol down. That should take you to bootloader menu

Sorry, seems I left out quite a bit. Was up late messing with it to see if I could get anything done and it was probably due to lack of sleep.
I believe it was after I had tried to RUU. Unforunately I don't remember with which .zip file, but I'm going to assume I didn't screw that up as I've had to RUU quite a few times and hadn't messed that up just yet.

Hi
Hi all,
I've used this thread to unbrick a Leeco Le 2 (x520).
The flash itself went like a charm, however, after disconnecting the cable and pressing the power button to reboot, the screen remains black.
When I short press the power button I can hear a sound and vibration, but that's it.
I'm stuck, even more so than before.
Is there anyone who can help me with this issue please?
Thanks in advance!
PS: I've also posted this question Thursday in the thread itself.
hello, did you solve the problem? I have the same situation. If you solve the problem, please write to the mail [email protected]
I've also same issue, please tell me if you get rid of this.

Solved - No Display after Flash
I know this is a old thread, but still i am posting this because u never know who might need it...
Guys i was having similar issue. After flashing Le2 with QFIL, I was getting no display. However my phone was somewhat on and making bleep sound when power key was pressed. Do this if you have similar problem:
1. Download this firmware:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/136X8jKA5eJRkyQ3Fi2f1r6qNkLXAG8io/view?usp=sharing
2. Flash it with QFIL/Miracle box/UMT whatever u feel like.
3. Hold Vol+ and Power button and goto Recovery. TWRP recovery will boot.
4. Now put any rom (i used latest LOS nightly) in it by using MTP from PC and flash it.
(Optional step: if u want to use official firmware It may happen that u get stuck at LeEco boot screen, only if u get stuck, then flash the kernel inside the zip and it will boot normally.)
5. ENJOY ^_^
If this helped, you know what u have to do
