Is anyone having the issue on the xoom that when DolphonHD is put in the background for a while or even just enough to suspens itself that when re opend it crashes. Worst part is that when it Lets me restore the crashed session it will just crash again.
And its happens no matter what site is open.
I love how Dolphin lets me use flash only when I want it and all its features that it has.. just can't use it because of its crashing. I u installed and reinstalled. No luck
Same issue, sent an email..... ill let you know what I hear back

Same here, crashing a lot. Besides, it behaves quite weird when using the slide bars, it shrinks the webpage, but when you close the sidebar, the letters are still shrinked. Let's hope it get fixed, I sent the notification the first time it asked.
I have used dolphin since i got the xoom on launch. My stock browser would crash way, way to much. Only thing i do different then you it seems, is i actually menu exit the browser unless i plan to multi-task at the time. I use registered dolphin HD.

Hey, has anyone managed to find a file in .apk format of the recently released alpha? they only way you can get it from mozilla's site is in a .install file, which, because of our darling At&t, we cant do anything with...
Got apk from here

I know it is alpha, but what are the thoughts so far on it? I find it very slow. I hope they can get gear monkey incorporated on this
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
They proboably won't start optimizing the code until it goes beta. Alpha is more about just getting the feature set right and making sure everything works moderatly well.
More than likely they re-used as much code as possible from the desktop variant (to get it going) which is def. not optimized for a mobile device.
It looks promising to me. I like the way tabs are handled and add-ons will be really cool if they ever take off (I need fire gestures).
Thanks for the link, dang you AT&T .........
It runs like crap, and fc randomly, dont know why they even released this to the puplic,
I will say this about, its much more functional than the pre alpha I've been testing the past couple weeks, certainly not ready for day to day use, but its nice to see mozilla making progress
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
I know it's alpha, but as soon as I load it it freezes. They aren't kidding about alpha, maybe they should list it as nearly operable.

It looks like it will be cool with the weave sync and all. Unfortunately I can't get it to run for more than a min without a force close.I did visit gmail and it wa formatted for an old flip type phone and just text...not for a smart phone like we are use to setting with an android browser.

I don't even get an FC. App just dies randomly. Otherwise, it looks really nice. I'm digging the interface. Once it gets stable, this will be my default browser
I am really enjoying Plume on my Xoom, but I have run across a pretty nasty bug that is really hindering the app. I was never able to click on ANY link in Plume. If I did, I would get an option to open with Plume or Mobo Video Player. No matter what I selected, immediately after selecting one I would get a Force Close. This happened every single time, without fail. I thought it was weird that Mobo was an option to open every link, so I uninstalled it, and Plume worked great. No more FC's. Reinstalled Mobo and right back to forc closing anytime I clicked on a link.
Maybe this will help solve a similar problem for some. Anyone else run into this? I have send a bug report to Levelup Studio, but forgot to mention the part about Mobo lol. I have also been trying to get their attention on Twitter, but so far they haven't responded. I suppose I will now send a proper email so hopefully thiss can be fixed. I have Mobo uninstalled right now, and am really diggin Plume, but have also come to really like Mobo for watching movies so would like to see them play nice together.
Are you running the beta release of plume? I have both installed on my zoom but do not get any FC's

Do yourselves a favor and get the honeycomb beta. It's the best Twitter app for HC right now and I have had zero force closes with it.

Is the browser on Gingerbread truly awful?
Im gonna agree. I have problems navigating back on all gb roms, sometimes it just locks up and refuses to do anything, other times it takes ages to load pages.
I've given up on it and use maxathon browser.
Would be nice if we could use the browser from 2.2
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
I really hate the default browser on gingerbread, I hate it so much that I went back to froyo because of that.
The part I do not like is where I can't scroll a long page all the way from top to bottom with only one swipe. Samsung for some reason copy that crappy iPhone thing to this phone.
the reason I keep using the default browser not 3rd party one is because it continue to load when the screen is off. Yes, I only have EDGE connection.
Sent from my GT-I9000
I've also had many problems with it before i went to CM7.
Why using default browser?
Dolphin works just fine.
I find dolphin quite slow tho.

Hi, for the first time ever I am considering using a 3rd party browser. But this is not the topic of this thread. What I am curious about is whether or not you guys have the same stock browser problem as I do.
This bug has never happen to me until the latest OTA update for the D3. When I try to close some browser tabs, it brings to that page instead of closes it. Sometimes I need to press the close button several times (sometimes 5) in order for the close to register properly.
I'm using the Verizon Motorola Droid 3.
Does this happen to you?
Since the day Oeramini and Operamobile were released I haven't opened the android's stock browser a single time.
Like you, the stock browser was having "issues" here and there. I didn't bother looking up any fixes, and just went with Opera Mini.
Sent from my XT860 using xda premium
OP:
It's cause the close button is tiny and you keep missing it.
It used to happen to me all the time, then I learned to aim.
You'll get the hang of it
This phone comes with a stock browser? When I logged into google the first thing it auto-downloaded was dolphin HD.

It only did that because your apps r set to back up on googles servers...so when u activate a google account on an android phone it puts all your apps on it. So yes, of course there's a stock browser!

Nope, I tested on my left pinky finger, my right pinky finger, the tip of my nose, and naturally, my thumb. It is not my carelessness that caused this to happen. So tell me, does anyone experience the same as I have?

Sometime, the problem may be caused by the touch-screen. From dev side, the touch point which is sent to browser is not correct. The 3rd-party browser would be a better choice. Stock browser really lack some feature which other browser did a great job.
You can try Boat Browser. Check it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308752
this happens to me as well, even before the update. Seems that it is sometimes a long press that fixes it, annoying as all...

Exactly, long press seems to fix the issue 25% of the time. But 25% is rough guess and is still an annoyingly small amount.
The issue did occur before update, but it didn't occur ever so often.
Please, I just want people to confirm that this is an issue on everyone elses device.
Firefox vs chrome vs Dilphin ..
Addons vs speed vs gestures, which is better in ur experience ?
I periodically try the others, but keep going back to Maxthon. Not much in the way of add-ons, but then I don't need much. The built-in "reader" mode works for most sites and gives an easy-to-read, clutter-free experience.
Boat browser, by far.

Tried a lot of browsers but stock browser is still my favourite by far. Its Quick Controls feature is something I can't live without.
I was actually getting fed up last night with chrome and chrome beta crashing every 2 seconds so i jumped on play store and grabbed a random browser just for fun, i found UC Browser HD and so far i absolutely love it! It works great in portrait and landscape and it feels like it loads pages really quick. Also, i almost forget to mention two finger swipe for adding and closing tabs and a handy little toolbar on the bottom right that you can add shortcuts to, right under where your right thumb usually rests.

I'd like to mention that for me UC browser was horrible because it spammed my devices. I complained directly in their forum and asked for ad free version but they don't have a pay version. So for me UC was out of the game.

For me it's mostly chrome as I have no bugs and it works flawlessly with chrome on my desktop for bookmarks and tabs. Stock browser for everything else because of flash.. And the speed. Gotta love that speed.
It seems like everyone is stating something else. I think it's best to just try some and see for yourself.

I prefer using the stock aosp browser but on my n7 it geta wonky on every rom ive tried. It will randonly freeze up and fc and stop being able to go back to the last page. I dont have time to get around and try every rom because of time and because i have 3 users on the device so restoring is a *****. If someone could pm me a rom that the aosp browser (not chrome) works good for them id appreciate it.
Opera is amazing. Chrome is good. Firefox has really upped their game lately and I still hate stock.

Well, I use ad blocker, too. When using UC Browser the first page/start screen showed always ads. To be true, if you're willing you can ignore it... but I am very sensitive to ads. They annoy me.
For all fans of Dolphin browser ->
read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319529
Right now I'm using stock CM browser.
The AOSP browser by a long mile, IMHO... Sure, the other browsers (Dolphin, Opera, Maxthon) might have more options (lots of bells and whistles), but AOSP has the edge in terms of speed and smoothness.
For anybody not rooted or unwilling to flash a custom ROM, then Lightning Browser is the next best thing to the AOSP browser... (IMHO, of course).

Hi, youdug...
I've never experienced any problems with the AOSP browser in Paul O' Briens MoDaCo ROMs... including the CyanogenMod variant I'm currently running...

On my Galaxy 3, I prefer Boat Browser (it's unbelievable fast),
But on my n7, I use Firefox because of f-sync, add-ons and flash...
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Tried almost all browsers in market and my favorite browser is AOSP browser love that speed and flash support. But sometime using Chrome because of browser sync feature is really useful.
How do I get firefox to work with flash ?
I tried installing the archived android flash from adobe website and nothing ?
I've recently switched to AOSP browser, and I'm happy with it.
I used chrome before, but got annoyed by those popup bubbles when clicking links, because it ended up showing a bubble EVERY time I'd click something.
And also I can't stand their text scaling, most signatures on XDA were MASSIVE while actual posts were tiny.
I tried other browsers as well, every one had something that bugged me (like swiping from one side would bring up a menu or such...)
I still use Firefox occasionally when chrome or AOSP won't download something or for very rare flash.
