my friend told me that his IS had some echoes when he made a call, and the color of pictures taken by the phone was a little bit red.
Did UR guys have the same problems or just his phone?
And can it be fixed by a rom update?

it's his/her network. i get that too sometimes. it's not the phone's problem
post some of his pics here for us to compare?
Yes, I have an echo sometime, its just there for a few seconds at a time during a call. Its not too annoying, but very noticable.
Its on Vodafone (NL), happens in every call, wherever I am around the country and never have had this problem on any of my previous HTC's on the same network, so my first guess wouldnt be the network tbh.
Haven't checked out the pictures yet that I've made.
Ah, the network, maybe. But we r using the same net, i don't have the problem. TBH, i think maybe the phone has some faults.
Im on vodafone nl also and no probs at all
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA Premium App
no such problem, maybe you can try camera360
Hey guys about the camera i guess the htc dhd cam as well as the IS cam is the same . My first choice was buying a dhd so i had read a lot of guides about it so i had found a post about the best usage of camera of dhd !! Here's the Excellent Camera guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875230&highlight=camera
Please do not flash any of the mentioned rom's or updates there because they are for dhd !! Hope this helps !!
I don't have that problems, but the volume of the voice of calls is small。
have not these issues
my phone is pretty OK!
Didn't have these problems.No echo.No "red" picture.
Ive been told some times now ('bout 5) in the one week I've had the phone, that they hear me like Im in a drum and a lot of echo...
Then I have to call them again and its gone.
Thats very annoying, even that I havent heard it myself.
Any other updates on this 'problem'?
This is in Denmark
Coming from the Legend, the sound when I make is noticable different. It not quite an echo, but more a hollow sound or like Im making the call in the bathromm (tiles). Best way to describe it is that I can hear myself in the earpiece when I make a call. I thought it might be some kind of noise cancellation it has??
I have the same problem.

Get red when I used sub camera. And the quality of call is good.

I noticed a dramatic drop in the display quality on my n1 the other day. Ive been searching for similar issue but found nothing like this problem.
It looks to me like when a pc has a default display driver & can only produce 16 colours. I took a few pics with a digi cam but they don't represent how bad it really looks in person. Skin tones appear to be the worst looking.
Ive tried to find a setting where I can force 16/24bit colours but no luck.
It was fine up until sometime this week, not sure what the deal is. I'm suspecting a display fault but hoping for a software fix.
I've uploaded some snapshots in the hope someone here has some insight & can offer any clues.
Cheers.
Looks like I cant post link to pics, Will ask moderators to fix this up asap.
Pictures please

wow thats weird are you running stock?
No, not stock.
Currently on FRF50. I loaded froyo on within a day or so of it being posted, so was fine for a few weeks up until this week.
I tried yesterday flashing back to a cyanogen rom I was using before this but still the same effect.
do you have to Froyo radio?
radio is 4.06.00.12_7
I would be surprised if its rom or radio related as it was fine for a few weeks as is until it went dodgy a few days ago.

then it must be your display, it might be damaged.
Yeah, not the answer I want to hear.
Will have call up support & see how painful the warranty process is from australia.
This might be a stupid question but is it only pictures you've taken with the nexus camera or system wide everywhere? Like if you have a wallpaper and scroll through your screens do the color blocks move with the screens our stay stagnant?

Sent via the XDA Tapatalk App
It is system wide. I can see it in wallpapers, backgrounds, icons, widgets etc. It moves with the screen when I move scroll.
Not much luck with local HTC support. They've told me I have to call HTC USA.
Missed their office hours by 40 mins this afternoon. Will try to get onto them again tomorrow.
Looking like it's going to be a costly warranty claim with freight Australia to US then Back to Australia.

check ebay for a new screen and DIY?
I have not yet rooted my Samsung Galaxy S sadly so I cannot do this myself. My PC is also broken so I cannot do much of anything at the moment.
I am basically after a simple screen capture of the standard status bar, including most importantly the UK English O2 network in it.
Basically like this (but perfect capture quality, not poor camera shot like mine ), the O2 instead of my T-Mobile network. So I can fool people into thinking I am on O2 basically when I show my phone, they wont know its a picture.

Hopefully it is a simple thing to do and it would really help me out I would usually just look about and find one such screen and edit it in photoshop to O2, but as my PC is playing up its a bit hard at the moment.
Thanks for looking and keep up the frankly amazing work, I love reading this place, but have yet to dip my toes into the actual forum. Guess this is as good a time as any to start.
J.P.
Is there something I have missed in this request?
Ahhh it is for priority cue jumping at O2 music events. I have an old never use anymore O2 Nokia phone and my new T-Mobile Galaxy S, so I have to take 2 phones to do the cue jumping at the moment.
If I just port over this screen to my Galaxy S, then I only have to show my Galaxy S screen.
Strange request I know, but it should save me a lot of time, and more importantly not needing to carry around two phones

OK, it makes sense. Not a bad idea.
I did hope there was an App out there that could change the Network to a new name, could not find one sadly. Mind you I may get more response if I asked that question as I think I worded this one a little oddly

Ok. I have tweaked the living heck out of my new droid phone, with much frustration and glee . One thing I'd REALLY like to change is this goofy green droid picture/art that pops up when you're on a call. Please. Please tell me there is a way (I am rooted and everything) to remove this, or install a dialer that'll cover it up. Thanks a lot.

Well, if you have Facebook, it's super easy. SNS syncing takes care of that, and will attempt to make connections by name similarity, identical email addresses or mutually supplied phone numbers.
Also, if your contacts have a Google profile that you've linked to in your email contacts, that'll do the trick.

I changed mine long time ago to match the Red Dre Beats theme!
This just started happening on my phone...there is a portion of the screen (near where the predictive words would appear) where the sensors do not recognize my touch (see below):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
In the above screenshot, I scrolled from bottom of the screen all the way to the top, but notice the gap in the middle.
Do you think the sensor is damaged or is it something else? I.e., do youthink it's a hardware issue or a software one ?

I'm guessing you already tried reflashing your/another ROM...
Good luck mate, that looks nasty
It seems the rom/kernel combination I was using wasn't good. It's back to normal with a different kernel.
CORRECTION:
No, it's not back to normal. Now I'm fairly convinced that it's a hardware problem. I don't know why or how, but the problem is back.
Maybe the touch sensor is sometimes working and sometimes not. It's strange though that it's always only at that section and no where else. Maybe the problem is only localized to that particular area.

At the worst case it might be your digitizer.
Revert back to stock through nvflash and test it again. If the issue is still present and its till under warranty, send the bad boy back.
Or alternatively, you can replace the digitizer yourself. Hope all goes well man

Thanks LarsPT & Supupa for your replies and kind wishes.
Unfortunately, it is conclusively a hardware issue since going back to stock or any other rom didn't make things any better.
And I'm out of luck and have no warranty on this (since I got it second hand).
I guess I'll just have to pray that it will last me a few more weeks until the SGS3 comes out here in the States.
Thanks.
You can fix it yourself?
The digitizer is only like $50 not original but it will last for ever. If you do, get one with the frame. It will make life so much easier.
Secondly its quite easy to replace, no soldering just screws and un clipping things.
I did mine myself, very simple. Good luck bud

Somethings out of wack here. Some piece of the pictures, like the leaves on the forest floor, and the arched concrete you were sitting on in front of that palace, are very detailed, yet, the backgroud is all fuzzy. I dont know whats wrong, but i dont think thats normal. Maybe someone else who knows more than me on the camera will post and help out.

Thanks for your anwser, I also think something is wrong. Any other opinions?
Take some pictures horizontally and with far distance.... If it's blurry(my was on the right side), it's camera hardware problem.... I had same issue, I was looking around on xda and found out it's broken ... I sent it back to HTC for repair, and they havent found any issue, so I have called insurance instead and they did swap ... It's fine now

Yes, but it is blurry already in the middle, taken from far, or close - the girl picture. Okay it is vertically taken but still. I'm thinking of going to my operator and letting them send it to warranty, I was just trying to see if there really is some problem, because all this warranty thing takes time and if they say it is working properly then all this time would be just for no reason.

In my opinion it does look that something is very wrong with it.
I have taken more than 500 pictures with my phone and just some taken with almost no ligh have some fuzziness like yours.
The ones with good light or moderate light are excelent. Even 90% of the ones I took at near no light are better than yours.
Let me show you some random pictures I have taken so you can compare.
These are not even messed with settings like sharpen -1 or anything else, just plain settings.
The second picture was taken with almost no light at all (seriously, the image is nothing like I could see with my eyes, way brighter in the phone).
I would take to a store and complain about it if I were you.
Thanks for your feedback, I will take it back and let them send it to warranty. Now I need to make it stock again
