Hello,
The new core player 1.2.1 with youtube integration is OUT !!!
Go to Mobihand and enjoy.

Great news thanks
As core player does not have a trial, and is pretty expensive, could you do some screen shots of this feature?

just check out the video

Cool. Thanks. Pretty nice. Looks like I will be shelling out, after refusing to pay for software without a trial for more than a year now.
Anyway, any way to get core player to play .flv files saved from YouTube. I know it does not support it natively, but I wonder if there is a hack or not.

Youtube integration works like a charm but trying to use H.264 for streaming (highest quality) makes me lose ~75% of the frames.
I dunno I guess I didn't expect it to be perfect but it's totally unwatchable. The medium settings works fine but looks worse than the flash video bundle with tcpm. (The actual interface is retty nice though a bit unresponsive and it doesn't always bring up the video when clicking a video, thus making you have to change "view" to see the actual video. pretty annoying.)
That youtube integration looks kinda slick.
I have core player, and am very happy with how it plays the videos I have on my storage card. It's clearer and sharper than WMP or TCPMP.
I don't have the you tube integration yet. What advantage does it have over TCPMP? Does it upload faster, or play the videos better? Sounds like undac didn't find the quality to be all that great.

eeks, h.264 youtube LOOKS great, but as undac pointed out...it's unwatchable... dropped-frame city...
medium setting RUNS great but looks bad...
so still flash video player and tcpmp for quality youtube...
if you just wanted to watch a video asap and didn't mind the quality, well medium setting core player would work ...
I tried the new version and really like the YT interface. I played several videos via WiFi and 3G and saw good results, video's only dropped about 5 frames in 2,500 pretty consistant with both radios with h.264's and zero frames with MPEG4s.
To select videos, I pressed the "i" icon on the right of each video, then in the larger info screen, pressed the play icon. Worked every time and seemed pretty responsive as well.
Edit, Oops, that was with the stock settings (Medium), when I changed the network setting for YT to high quality, the Kaiser chokes as reported. It played 101 frames and dropped 1515! Is this strictly a Kaiser/Tilt missing video driver issue??? and other PDA's function with this setting??
Just tested several H.264 Videos over wifi. 10000k frames played 400 dropped - frame rate 25.68. Thats pretty acceptable to me.
Not sure why my is performing better than some. Yes I did check to make sure it was h.264 High.
any1 have the cab for this? I know its not free I have purchased it but for some reason handago didnt provide me with the link for new version they still are selling the old one.

I am sure they will have it soon enough. No warez posting is allowed here. Mobihand.com of course has it already and I have to say it really is working nice. Love the youtube interface and streaming is really flawless with hsdpa.
High quality (H264) YouTube playback over wifi on my HTC Advantage is virtually flawless in CP 1.2.1 - I have it set to use the ATI Imageon video decoder w/acceleration selected. Supposedly the ATI chip doesn't have the capability to do hardware acceleration of H264 but in CP 1.2 and 1.2.1 I get incredibly smooth playback of H264 video (not at 640x480 unfortunately).
Can anyone advise on optimum settings van CorePlayer?
YouTube doesn't look too good here either. Can anyone advise on the best video (and other) settings to use with CorePlayer 1.2.1 / TyTN II?

I would just suggest you make sure under video settings you have the qtv option selected.

The "default" setting for Youtube video's is the crappy 3gp mode
to get H.264 goto
menu -> tools -> preferences -> Network
and amend the "YouTube Format" to "h264 (High Quality)"
Also make sure
menu -> tools -> preferences -> video
has "video Output" set to "QTV Display" (I'd recommend setting it to GDI first, exit, restart, set to QTv, exist and then restart)
QTv mode has some quirks (it wont display some of my album art) but for video it's way better than GDI

bratag, can you post links to some youtube vids and your live benchmark on them over wifi at h.264?
I've only tested it a little and so far it seems great to me. Having Youtube integrated kicks ass. Here is a sample I tested:
with three bars on HSDPA and Youtube set to high quality...
Wolverine trailer
320X240 25 fps
1405 frames played
165 frames dropped
actual framerate 22.373
Im sure that larger pixel dimension files will drop more frames. But so far I am happy. This CoreCodec team is the heat. First the QTV overlay and now youtube. Props
It very much depends on the size of the youtube video. Anything over about 480x runs choppy. You have to go down to medium for that. But anything encoded at a lower size than that is fine
Hi,
which mediaplayer is best for the diamond, or in other words, which support the video accelerator chip (QTv ?). Today I installed Nero Media Player Pro, but it either failed to render TV-Rips (std.~350mb only 1-2sec playback) or very chunky playback of 320h mov files/trailers. Obviously no support of the QTv here.

well sheer power wise, TCPMP is the best media player for any mobile platform but i doubt that it supports the accelerometer and the interface isn't exaclty finer freindly.
Try coreplayer
I've been using coreplayer as well... works great, no conversion needed really... pretty much plays everything...
I'd agree that TCPMP is best for me
I have found that running movies through PocketDivXEncoder first improves the view. I need to test the settings a bit more but video quality between 14 and 20 at full resolution looks great so far (audio 6 or 7)
thanks for your recommendations, will try them.
does any of those support upnp ? like to stream some videofiles from my nas box. therefore reencoding first to divx isn't really an option for me..
btw. while playing around with mediaplayers and wifi today, I burned the battery within TWO hours
Yeah. CorePlayer FTW! I hate TCPMP. CorePlayer is the best media player (video wise). Totally worth paying for. I'd suggest Conduit's Pocket Player for audio files or S2P.
Kraize
I got Core player and at first before i had the Elite 2.0 ROM it was playing really bad.
Now, For example, i have the last 2 episodes of the latest Doctor Who Series on my diamond and it plays them ReallY well. Its in Sync and its top quality video. I love the VGA screen!!
NOT: These are Xvids that are 500-600MB each so they havent been re-encoded
Hum I have bought coreplayer 1.2.5, if I see a film with the diamond native resolution, it is very slow. Is it normal ?
No problem with the resolution 240*320 but we have a very beautiful screen I would like to see my film on 480*640
Have a full avi rip here of a anime series and TCMP is really crap, it lags, choppy playbacks and freezes then plays. I really dont know how you guys are using it. I am using elite 3.0 and i did try it also on standard manufactures it was the same.

Which version and what settings of Core Player are you using ?
The resolution of the videos is more or less 640x480 ?
I tried like Diagorn the Core Player 1.2.5 and a lot of settings, but on my diamond high quality videos are really slow (the sound is ok, but images is like slideshow)
@yodjar
that is exactly what is happening to me the file itself is around 170mb and its about 22 mins long. Plays beutiful using my p.c and my universal (xda exec) and any other p.c with anything that can play the avi. Please post a solution here if you find one people who seem to have it working dont seem to say how it works it just does.
Nobody ?
I can't understand why this thing doesn't interest ppl more...
I have problems to see some videos
First Sorry for my english I am using a Traslatos then I correct it.
I had moved my videos that I have in my old Eten X800 to the Diamond, most of them can not see but heard, including some filmed with a Photograph camera or with the Eten. That may be happening? I am using the CorePlayer but the same thing happens with some in the Window Media Player 1.2.1 for Arm, with the same Core Player I can see the videos in the Eten.
Thanks Carlos
Player
Yes, Core player is better than TCPMP player I think since I told some videos using y canon ixus 60 and it wouldn't play on the window media player and on TCPMp is jerky but core player is very smooth.

There's a separate thread somewhere about supporting the Qtv chip on the Diamond - have a search if I don't find it before you.
Maybe some kind of video player ?
With TCMP you can specify playback speed up to 50%.

tnx a lot !
Hi Everybody,
I'm having a great time with SGS's default video player (certainly the best player for android, bettering the third party players).
But there is one small problem I'm facing with this player.
I'm having loads of movies in my hard disk and I'm using Media Player Classic to see it in my monitor and I press the button 'NumPad 9' to zoom to my desired level, as I hate the 2.35:1 aspect ratio.
But in SGS video player, there is no option to do so. There is one great option to "fit to screen". But that stretches the video. Is there any player, through which I can Crop the Aspect Ratio (or Zoom the video)?
If not, Can you guys help me find a video converter that just crops the aspect ratio of the video alone (no conversion, only cropping of aspect ratio), there by it doesn't take a lot of time to convert a particular video.
As of now, I'm using XiliSoft Video Converter.
I'm having D930 CPU. It is taking 200 mins to convert a video file of 2 hr length.
And the funny part here is, the video itself is 700mb. But I'm converting it to 900mb video (but still the quality is reduced) and it takes a lot of time and CPU energy.
If only there was a player to crop/zoom aspect ratio or a converter that just crops the aspect ratio, I CAN SKIP the HOURS of video conversion on my PC.
Help me out guys!!!!
Edit: BTW, if there is any such player to zoom aspect ratio, it'd be great if it plays all kinds of formats like our default player does.
Edit2: Tried Act1 Video Player. Didn't Help. There is an option to crop, but didn't work on SGS
currently i'm using mVideoPlayer, i've not been able to find a better one at this time
i know exactly what you mean, i watch a lot of foreign videos on my phone and sometimes the source aspect ratio is just not encoded properly, if you put it all full screen it looks weird, if you leave it as it, it also looks weird
a good video player software supporting subtitles files and option to control the video aspect ratio would do wonders
the first video i put on mine that was 2 hours was chup chup ke ....im sure you know that one haha sounds like your putting some long bollywood films on there.
BTW, act1video player is cool in cropping and zooming. They've got that option, but it doesn't work on galaxy s as of now
Hope they ll fix this issue soon
Try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7458822
my only concern with the SGS's Video player & mVideoplayer is that the fast forward/rewind is slow. when you ff a video using the time line, it'll take a few seconds to play.
This became a concern when I was defending my SGS against my friend's iFAG4. We used the same Avatar Video that i downloaded, when my friend ff/rewind the video on his iFAG4, we can see every frame while moving the timeline and immediately plays the video.
Pre-cropping the video on your pc is a no-go for you, since you will always have to re-encode it as well. Still, if you have no better options, I'd recommend Virtualdub for the job.
still no solution?
Thanks by advance guys!
Best program out there for video conversion!
http://www.freemake.com/free_video_converter/
unbelievable!
I give up!
If u guys at XDA have no answer, then there is no vid player for android that can crop. period!
when i watch movies on galaxy s2, the movie is a little strip of film between two huge black bars.
stretching wouldn't work in this case, coz people would look like they are falling into a black hole throughout the movie
core player and other players did a beautiful job in WM6.5! and wm6.5 is considered a fossil when compared to androids latest (like gingerbread).
makes u wonder... why does android have more than 200 million users...
In fact.... I really cannot understand why android is continuously loaded up with tons of potentially wonderful features, but all the users are punctually pissed off by poor implementations that make these features pointless.
Sadly, I'm starting to think that android is just an OS for "surprising friends" rather than an OS intended for actually enjoying your device.
Still searching for a player to crop the aspect ratio of a video.
mVideoplayer and ACT 1 video player has the option to crop to zoom. But both doesn't work Galaxy S
I use mVideoplayer with my SGS, and the crop/zoom options worked fine with Froyo 2.2.1.
After the 2.3.3 update, mVideoplayer is unable to zoom. Only stretching is possible, of course with black bars and wrong aspect ratio.
Foxreal Video Converter may help
Hello, you guys!I have find something that may help--Foxreal Video Converter.I have tried the free trial version,it wors like a charm!Something on their website:
Play video on iPad 2, iPad, iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPod Touch 4, Droid X , Galaxy S, Motorola Xoom , Nook Color, Nexus S, HTC phones.
Support rich video formats like TiVo, VP6, MXF, MTS, M2TS, MOD, etc.
Edit HD and SD video with powerful editing functions.
Perfect audio and video sync technology and NVIDIA CUDA technology.
Hope it work for you too!
thanx for the attempt bro, but no thanx.
this is not a solution. it's not even a workaround. the device itself is still not cropping anything.
we wanna throw any vid in there and play with the right aspect ratio, without any bars, making use of ALL of the screen. simple.
You may try Asoftech video converter which helped me before, download from: Windows video converter
hope this helps.

Haven't you ever heard of the app MX Player? It can do exactly what you are thriving for here. Try it.
Is there any way to alter the video playback speed for slow motion videos when using the native video player ?
Thanks
AK
Nah I don't think so. Just the Google Photos only I guess.
