Can somebody post a copy of the original Dell Streak 7 email.apk file?
A streak 7 owner at work couldn't get the stock e-mail to work, and went ahead and installed one he copied over from a HTC phone. It didn't work either, but we did a factory reset but now the orignal email.APK file is gone, and the mail icon states that application is not installed when you tap on it.
I figure it was just a config issue, and I would like the file so we can install it back on there and get it set up/troubleshoot.
Use handcent sms! Is better!

Thanks for the response, but that was not what I was asking for. I managed to find the file in a Dell system dump on the development forum. Consider this marked as answered.

reboot into recovery. Mount /system.
adb shell
rm /system/app/Mms.apk
rm /system/app/mms.odex
exit
unmount /system from recovery
reboot.
adb install attached mms.apk (or move to sdcard and install with method of choice.)
Or delete it from system/app with android commander then push the new mms to the same directory and reboot.
To change the backround color simply hit menu when in your mms then change it in settings !
Confirming works.

Quick Question
I'm relatively new to rooting, but a quick learner. Got this working on my nexus s and it looks great! Thanks for the instructions! Have a quick question however. When a rom is released for the nexus and I flash it, will this installed messages app (black background) be deleted and replaced with the one included with the rom? Or will I have to change this back to the stock messaging apk before flashing a new rom
Depends

Well Hopefully the devs/chefs who make or cook Roms will be kind enough to build this awesome mod into their rom. However when you flash a new rom most require wipes and will likely overwrite the mms.apk in their install anyhow. So either it will keep your current mms.apk or flash one of the devs/choice.
did that answer your questions?
title says it all... special thanks to Retrokid223 for doing the XML editing on the orig (i remade the app completely on the new versions including the xml but retro still provided me with help) and thanks to Adrynalyne and nitsuj17 also for the help on various things such as getting started with XML editing. IRC ftw. Thanks to DiGi on IRC for testing the latest verison also.

This version should be installable like any other app.. no need for it to be on system unless you just prefer it be there. If all ideas/criticism are welcome as this is my first themed apk and it taught me a lot and im still learning a lot. The settings button is fugly and i have tried to fix it to make it look good and came up empty so just go into the settings and always hide it if you dont like it because unless someone else wants to edit it and send it to me im not interested in fixing it as i doubt its even used. Enjoy.

Bootloaders
Im currently running 2.3 mosaic and wanted to know if fusion had bootloaders in it?i want to go baxk and forth between the 2 roms but really would not have to go back to stoxk but also dont want to brick my cappy.
Seeing as there's been no release for usa captivate i897 gb on samfirmware.com I'm not real sure on the rules of jumping back to froyo. But as far as bootloaders are concerned; no the fusion cwm zips don't contain any.
Hope that helps.
If not talk to xtreme as the same rules would apply if you were jumping back to FF3.0 and he knows more about the GB bootloaders.
Keep in mind tho that the bootloaders for Mosaic is built from i9000 sources.

But I'ed like to see a dark brown / mud / chocolate colored theme for fusion.
Seen lots of blues, reds and greens tho...
edit: finally read thru all the posts for this ROM, I'll give "Burnt Fusion" a run... still would like to see something darker.
If not brownish, a rusty or dirty look will do as well. Something like you guys "came across an old abandoned reactor/atom smasher, and are brining it back to life" kinda look.

Hey, I'm trying some dabbling in themes and Modding. I've been using Apk Manager 4.9 to unzip and modify pngs and even used a hex editor to change the colors on the status bar notifications in status_bar.xml.
I tried to decompile the systemUI.apk and found the clock.smali file and changed the textcolor setting in there. But when I go to recompile it in Apk manager, I get errors. I was wondering if one of you cooks could tell me how to change the clock color, or what I might be doing wrong? I'm on Windows 7 and have most of a kitchen with the drivers, Java. notepad++ and stuff.
Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out, I was deleting the wrong file when I needed to add from the original when I recompiled the apk, now I just have to figured out the color codes.

Hey all,
I dont know if anybody is interested, but here is a working version of the Touchwiz4 Launcher that I can confirm works on the ns4g. I am using right now on MIUI. This is pulled from a rpm that I used to use on my epic. It is fully functional, no problems that I can find.
I did not develop this, I simply pulled it from a rom on my epic.
Credit goes to marcusant and whoever the original porter was.

I would like this too. As well as the TouchWiz icon set.
I don't know if this is the right forum for this but I'll throw it out there. I'm trying to install the Gmail.apk that I edited to change the email notification icon but it will not install. I'm assuming it's cause I didn't sign it. I tried reading up on signing APKs but it's a bit too complicated for me for what I want to do. Is there anyone here willing to sign the APK for me if I send it to them?
