Recommended Installation
1. Back up your current version with whatever you use to backup (titanium, mybackup, etc)
2. Use Astro, or another file manager to install this new apk normally. Apk is signed, so it shouldn't be an issue.
If that give u trouble, It also works to use Titanium Backup, Backup, uninstall, install new apk, restore Data only. If you do that, make sure you do the 'Important Note' too.
IMPORTANT NOTE
In this recent (.36) version, some had issues with receiving GV notifications--myself included. What fixed it for me:
Menu > More > Settings > Sync & Notification > Receive Text Messages > Toggle whichever option you would like.
Also make sure everything else you want to be ticked there, is.
This is an old note, but if it applies to your situation...
I use Google Voice and Handcent (I don't anymore). I keep Google Voice Notifications OFF and all texts go thru handcent.
I've noticed that whenever I reinstall the GV app, my text message forwarding gets disabled.
It's a super simple fix. You can test by just sending yourself a text message.
FIX
It would depend on your set up, but this is what I do after installing.
Google voice (app) settings - turn notifications OFF (and inbox sync ON, by default)
In your browser, go to google.com/voice
Settings > Phones > EDIT (cell) > Text Settings (Receive Text messages), Check box > SAVE.

I'm using ADW Ex - I'm trying to remember where I got the dock... I didn't create it, just made some minor mods to it. Check in the 'show us your homescreen' section. I can edit this post later with attachments.

Here's the ones I modded for personal use

It's called Ice, you can get it over at Dreamlyfe docks and word icons.

can it only be used with ADW EX launcher? or is it possible with other launchers?

I think i used it with launcher pro, originally. It just depends if whichever launcher you're talking about lets u customize your dock..

Yeah you're right. I fixed all the borders, should be fine now.

I probably won't do the Facebook widget because as far as I can tell it is embedded into the system in the Virtuous mod I am running and would be difficult to get to without using Metamorph. I'll try messing with it later though.

Always remember to uninstall your current application before installing these skinned versions.
Also the skinning process (for images, anyway) is very easy to do if you don't know how, I can post a guide if you would like to know how.

[MOD] Froyo TouchWizGTG Launcher (OUTDATED)

I ran across an awesome mod last night in the Captivate forums and thought I would share it with you guys. What is it? Basically, it's a modified/customized TouchWiz Launcher. According to its creator, gtg465x, it offers the following features:
-Landscape mode (270° rotation)
-Transparent app drawer background and no icon backdrops
-New fly-in effect for app drawer icons
-Removed text "Press and hold this page to add content" from blank screens
-Galaxy Tab specific code removed to reduce app size
-Enabled 16-bit mode for faster/smoother animations

Another awesome feature it gives is the ability to alphabetize your apps in the app drawer (much like the Vibrant launcher).
There are currently four different versions of the launcher: (1) regular dock/regular icons, (2) regular dock/colored icons, (3) 5 icon dock/regular icons, and (4) 5 icon dock/colored icons. I personally tested each of these out last night and they worked great on our Fascinate.
Again, I did not create these and take absolutely no credit for them. My goal is to simply share what I consider to be an outstanding mod. Hopefully somebody else will enjoy the mod as much as I have .
Here are a couple of pics of my favorite of the four versions, the regular dock/regular icons TW Launcher (the two that are funky are in landscape mode):

Installation (If you're a noob, I recommend using Root Explorer. If you're not, you probably don't need this installation guide.)
1. Copy the default TouchWiz30Launcher.apk and TouchWiz30Launcher.odex (if applicable) from /system/app to your SD card as a backup.
2. Delete TouchWiz30Launcher.odex (if applicable) from /system/app and copy this new TouchWiz30Launcher.apk over the old one.
3. Set permissions of the new TouchWiz30Launcher.apk to rw-r--r--. You can probably get by without doing this. Haven't tried it.
4. Important! If you are installing the new dock version you must clear launcher data to unhide the apps that were in your dock previously. Go to Settings > Applications > Manage applications > Running > com.sec.android.app.twlauncher and then force stop, clear data, and press home.

PWorks great. This is my favorite tw set up so far. I live how with froyo it implements Denver like preview, pinch on the home screen and it brings up all 7 screens, pinch in the app drawer and it brings up a preview of all pages for faster navigation

The only reason I started using ADW a while ago was for 270 degree rotation. Otherwise i use a very vanilla UI on my phone (plain black wallpaper, only 1 home screen, no animations or transitions etc - i know, boring).
This works with superclean 2.1 and had this come out a few months ago I bet I would have never used ADW. For me personally ADW feels a little snappier, and Ive grown to like that I can customize the qty of rows/columns in the drawer. But I bet some people will like this a lot. Thanks for posting.

Regular/Colored and 5Icon/Regular have switched downloads. Reg/Color should be with 5 icon, 5 Icon should be with reg.

how did you change your app drawer icon? from my understanding that could only be done on ADW/launcher pro, is this ability now possible on this modified Tw or are you using some other app?

I'm using the 5 Icon/colored with a one-step Odin debloated/debinged EB01 froyo. I love the TW mods. But every time I exit from Task Manager, the modded TW errors out with a FC and randomly removes apps from my home pages. That is the only time it gives me trouble. I suppose it's like the old joke: Doc it hurts when I do this-- then don't DO it!

Really sorry to have to ask this, but I do not understand the installation process. The download link is a .zip file, not an .apk and the contents of the .zip file does not have an .apk to push so I am rather clueless as to how to approach this. I most likely overlooked something. Thanks to whoever points out my flawed procedure.

All the contents of all the .zips have TouchWiz30Launcher.apk in them......

I'm sorry. Thanks for putting up with my silliness. My mac only showed the contents of the apk I assume, including the res folders and xml files. It works fine on the pc. Thanks again.

LOL....I'm surprised these links still work. FYI: this is just a tad outdated. If you are satisfied with the laucher, by all means use it. I would, however, recommend using CrushD's (more updated/funtional) version here.

ya for sure. I'm hoping (for GV or messaging app) it's not framework-res or systemui mods that need to be done... so much easier if standalone. I don't have adb working for some reason on ICS, so my pushing/pulling/poking around in the ICS /system has been limited. I'm gonna try a new kernel (using franco's now) to see if that makes a difference.

Hi guys. I'm not sure what happened, but I installed the latest transparent GV apk and this is what it looks like (screen shots attached). I had to go the Titanium route to get it installed. Any thoughts?
FYI: I'm running Kwiboo's v3.

Are you running a theme choser? I had that issue before installing a custom modded apk.

A little theme I whipped up using some flavorings from the ICS system dump that's been floating around. It required a good amount of creative image editing to adapt a lot of the images (resolutions are a tad different in ICS frameworks).

Dialer Tones
Great job on the theme, but ran into an unexpected behavior. After I installed it (cleared Dalvik cache), I noticed that sending tones after I am in a call did not work. I installed the Reset and then the tones starting working.
Let me know if you need additional info.

Do you mean a number with added presses after call is conected i.e. 800-555-1234,321 ? If so I have not encountered that myself. I have my voicemail set up to send password i.e. *86,4321# and I would have caught that it didn't work right away. And I did test adding a number to contacts with extra presses and that works fine too. Maybe redownload and reflash.

Ummm, not sure what you are talking about. And how can a "fix" be addressed when it hasn't been mentioned ever on rootz of here. I used the black background option and see nothing wrong. The only thing changed in the mms.apk was some icons and no other edits were made to the apk. Maybe provide screen cap of your gripe.

Flashed your ics theme and lost phone and contacts. I usually use ex dialer anyway, but it causes a force close when trying to enter a contact from mms. Downloaded your transparent dialer, but still no phone or contacts app except my ex dialer stuff.. Weird. I mean i can fix it by just flashing the ROM. But was wondering your thoughts.

Flashed one of my other themes/downloaded ics via 3G using opera/flashed and no issue to report. There was one other chap that reported an issue a month ago and he re downloaded theme and reflashed and he was good to go. I've been passing this along to people for a week in irc with no sign of this issue.

I was updating the attatchement so it had been removed. Attatchement is again working now.

Great theme, wonderful colors, however facing some issues,:
1. text is white in text input field , in whatsapp and google plus (see photo)
2. whatsapp settings is white
other than great... also could u create a google plus community for the theme, its just easier to stay upto date on the theme

one dialor bug which is not present in previous build . only arrows seen in sub menu of recent calls .screenshot attached
