[Q] Error while installing CM7 on my Galaxy TAB

Hi,
I am trying to install CM7 using Heimdall on my Galaxy tab P1000
But just after clicking Start i get ERROR: Failed to access device. libusb error: -12
In the Heimdal folder there's a README and a drivers folder.
Read the README. There's instructions.
Run the executable in the Drivers folder. From one of the menu's select all devices and you should see an option for samsung composite device. Click Install Driver.
If you're on Win7, there's instructions in the README to go through the device manager and change the drivers that your device is using to connect. Do this then try to flash it again. It should detect your device now.
Thanks that helps too much , installed CM 7 on my tab

[Q] GT-N7000 (German) and KIES (mac & Win)

I have a German Galaxy Note (GT-N7000, Android 2.3.6 stock, Baseband N7000XXLB2, Kernel 2.6.35.7-N7000XXLC1-CL1003701 [email protected] #2 Build GINGERBREAD.XXLC1)
my PC is a macbook, running Snow leopard, VMware Fusion 3 and a Windows CP partition.
When i connect the phone to my macbooc, and start Kies, it takes a while to detect the connected phone, then offers me the new firmware upgrade to ICS (LBY I think). However, I want to make a backup first, but when I select the 'BACKUP/RESTORE' tab in Kies, I get a popup telling me that 'device type not recognized' and nothing is offered for backup.
So Itried installing the Windows version of Kies, but in Windows, I cannot even get the driver for the 'Samsung mobile MTP Device' installed. Windows pops up the 'new hardware found' notification, I hear the 'plop' that goes along with it, and that repeats over and over and over again, never sucessfully installing.
The WIndows event viewer logs:
Drivers were successfully installed for device USB\Vid_04e8&Pid_6860&Rev_0400&MS_COMP_MTP&SAMSUNG_Android.
followed by
It was not possible to access the device () after installing drivers. Error code 0x80070651.
Does anyone have any idea how to get the backup to work? I don't want to try the Kies firmware upgrade w/o a backup.
I also would like to avoid rooting this device..

Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830: Unknown USB Device (Device Failed Enumeration)

Hello, I am sorry if this post has already been made somewhere but I still can't find the answer for fixing the problem suggested in the title and I may have posted this on a wrong section earlier, very sorry
So I have a GT-S5830 Galaxy Ace and decided to install CyanogenMod 7 with CWM. The flashing of the phone was a success but I came across a bug (or problem?) of screen orienteering and I couldn't find that answer. Right after this, I then decide to restore back to stock ROM. However, I came across a problem when connecting the device (in Download Mode) to my PC; it stated Unknown USB Device (Device Failed Enumeration) in Device Manager.
Following Procedures I have done:
- USB Debugging enabled on phone
- Samsung USB Driver installed
- All drivers on PC up-to-date
I am also following a guide to restore back to ROM using Odin Multi Downloader, but it does not recognize the phone in ID:COM. The bleep on the PC can be heard but it only recognizes when the phone is in normal mode; in Download Mode it shows Unknown USB Device (Device Failed Enumeration). Please help as I am giving this phone to my sibling.
Thank you.
I'm not an expert by any means, in fact just starting out, but I think you could load the recovery kernel onto your SD card and then boot in recovery mode, select 'load from SD card' (or something similar), select the file on your SD and do it that way. Try looking at wiki . cyanogenmod . org/w/Install_CM_for_cooper (take the spaces out of this URL). You may also need the ADB, I'm not sure, but the details are in that link.
Hope this helps!
