Hi,
Is there a possible way to upgrade my version of Sense UI on my HD2 Froyo 2.2 without using a new ROM?
Question 2: Can i use HTC Sense widget in other theme apps?
Both cases it's no....
try to install the different Build and restore the apps via Titanium Backup pro..
Nope sorry. You would have to change numerous files, edit xmls etc and even then there's no guarantee. Titanium backup your apps and start afresh

Is there also a way to modified the menu within the sense theme, make background transparant or something?

ok....so that's what my thread is for how do I do that lol
A lot of the android widgets are actually just some images and files in stuff like music, launcher, stuff like that. I do not think any of them are standalone .apk files.
When i'm cooking a Custom ROM for my i9000,
does anyone know how to change the custom appearance of my LauncherPro when I freshly install it? So I don't have to restore the backup.
Better explained:
I changed my LauncherPro with a lot of Custom Icons (with Desktop Visualizer).
When I was done, I made a Backup (folder "launcherpro_backup" on /sdcard).
Now when I want to share my ROM, the User starts LauncherPro and SHOULD already see all my Icons/Themes etc.
How to do this?
Dont launcher pro warns you that widgets cant be restored?
Id say probably some kind kind of after install scrip, but still pre boot that will copy some files across.
If u decompile the apk, u'll find a default something xml in layout if i recall.
Honestly, id suggest u share your backup and try this Link

The widgets aren't the problem.
I want the custom dock bar & custom icons I made
@Daneshm90
Thank you for this great hint!
I try that
Hey guys!
I've noticed that Sammy did a awful job when it comes to our stock Android.
I was a happy user of CyanogenMod but I really missed some Sammy stock apps and reverted back to stock ROM.
Now I'm creating a bareboned stock-based ROM for my personal use, but when I remove some apps, I noticed that they still appeared on my launcher.
On the /system/app directory, there is some Launcher*.apk files, where the * is something like AlarmClock, Browser, Calculator. The apps that I removed only disappeared when I deleted the matching Launcher*.apk too.
I wonder if there is some way to bypass this? By bypass I mean, remove the Launcher*.apk files and still have the icons on my launcher.
Thanks!
Maybe u can try using Root Uninstall.. See if it help u out to clean up all the apps that u wanted to remove include the system/app files also u can remove it easily....
here u can get the apps
link
Correct me if Im wrong ok.
Thanks for the help, but this is not what I want I think I wasn't clear enough. I want to remove the dependency of a second APK to show the icons on my launcher. Guess that is has been hard-coded by samsung. Oh god, why...
Try titanium backup, make backup then restore, I dunno why, but it worked for me with some apps. Or try a different launcher and see what happens.

I'm using Holo Launcher I'm gonna try it another time, maybe LauncherPro and ADW.
I noticed that this only exists in my Brazilian ROM, since this don't happens on the XWKTM. therefore, this thread isn't needed anymore. Thanks for those who helped!

So I'm on one TW-based 4.0.4 ROM and I'd like to use another.
Problem is I don't like that ROM's wifi/bluetooth/etc toggles (prefer 15 toggles but no centered clock- have that on current rom). i also don't like the re-spaced dock (to make it narrower).
Which .apk's should I back up from my current ROM (built on the same base) so that I can flash back over to system/app to get the look I want.
Furthermore, could anyone provide a somewhat comprehensive list of .apk's and what they correspond to in terms of UI

Making a NANDROID Backup will backup your ROM incase you want to revert back. Or you can backup every application using Titanium Backup but You SGN must be rooted

I got this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1580830&page=13 from the other thread on Apps and Themes. One of our good Xda-member was kind enough to compile the lists of stock apps inside our phone. Though it may not be updated at all (since most apps he compiled are from stock GB), but I guess some apks are still existent and carried over to stock ICS.
P.S. Go to the 1st part of that thread and it wil show you the spreadsheet of the lists of apps and the description to it.
Hi, I would like to modify the Slimwizz 5 ROM for personal use. I want to remove some apps and add some stock ones that are missing and needed for me. I would also like to change the theme that was introduced (the background in settings and other places that were changed).so that it looks identical to stock.
Can someone advise me on how to do this? I am guessing it isn't enough to extract the zip file and delete, replace apps and then just to rezip it.
So any help with removing the apps, then adding apps and finally changing it to phone UI and changing the background in settings would be much appreciated.

I think that you need new rom
did you try alliance v1
you can flash it without google and samsung apps, then after installation you can restore every system (samsung/google) apps that you need, this way you can have a rom that suit your needs
also you can flash stock theme from Alliance OTA
and a lot of modification through Alliance control
you cant find better rom
