I'd start with posting in the correct forum: development instead of themes and apps.
That said, I'm very happy with Froyo 2.2.1 (released dec 13).

Did you wipe everything in recovery mode before installing the rom?
If you're not familiar with rom install steps, follow the steps in the guide posted in the development forum.

I'd start with telling him to post in the real correct section, which we all know is general, or even Q&A
I use FroydVillain 1.7.2, but if you want speed, just flash flykernel 12 on your current ROM and it should be rapid.
I put froyo 2.1.1 on my phone and wiped everything including my nandroid back up is there any way I can get it back? Froyo is amazing may I add lol.. can I create a backup image of this rom instead?

There is a Radio thread in the dev section, where you can flash the newest radio versions. As to what it does.. im not entirely sure myself its supposed to improve phone reception i think.
But make sure you flash the correct type of radio... There is GSM or CMDA. Make sure u know which is the correct one for you!
I need to install some stock apks that come with HTC Aria on my NookColor. Any pointers where I can find them? If someone has a rooted Aria and they are willing to attach the stock apk's here, that would be dandy as well.

Download the FR008 ROM from the XDA, all the stock apps are in there. However, they may need Sense.
Maybe i'm not clear here. I was looking for the apk's that come with an unrooted Aria. Sorry for confusion.

Here's the link to the HTC Aria stock not rooted ROM that attn1 compiled. All credit goes to attn1 for posting this.
http://droid.neolobster.com/roms/aria_shipped_signed.zip
You can extract the original apk's directly from the zip without the need to flash the zip.
HTC apps won't work without Sense, it requires the Sense UI framework. That's why, like, on the G2, they don't have the really good Sense apps, like the camera one. So you can't use them.
Thanks guys! I totally ignored the fact that HTC Sense would be a requirement.
Hey i tried porting the miui theme using this method http://forum.androidcentral.com/lg-optimus-s-rooting-roms-hacks/49049-how-port-theme.html
And i created a .zip file named "newtheme_signed.zip", but when i try to flash it in clockworkmod it fails and says:"
Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported.
Amend scripting was deprecated by Google in android 1.5.
It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the clockworkmod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and update binary" to create working update zip packages."
I have used more than 2 hours on it so i would love to see it working with help from you guys, so i have attached the .zip file
Not quite sure if your link directs you to the original thread for theme Porter since you have to be registered and activated. But here is the link if you need it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=737526
I've used the information from this direct thread for froyo builds and have never had a problem flashing zip files through CWM. Also if you're interested, there's a paid MIUI theme for adw on the market with a large icon pack. That might save you a lot of time.

Nice! No hurry.
This is mod for ODEXED ICS based ROMs. When using the Dsxida's kitchen, there was a slight problem. so I made some modifications to AutoDEOTool
Manually Deodexing :
to decompil an odex file you needs the BOOTCLASSPATH..
It is a list in specific order of some framework .jar files..
It is different in function of the APKs
Click to collapse
Run AutoDEOToolMain.bat
1.Place the JARs and corresponding ODEX files in the directory "_framework".
Otherwise, place deodexed framework JARs into the directory "deodexed_JAR".
2.Place the APKs and corresponding ODEX files in the directory "_app".
3. To deodex framework files
-For non standard odex however a specific bootclass path must be defined..
-select to 6
place the bootclass path for framework

This manual was written in order to develop more easy deodexed rom..
if you want to getting the pure deodexed ROM, You need to have a separate build process..
So i would need to re build my entire rom?

Maybe It will be.. This manual is written for people who want to build custom Rom..
I tried pushing the files back to the phone and it caused alot of problems so im guessing that i would have to learn how to build roms then. lol
I wish someone would just deodex the stock ics. I know wildchild has a deo version but its also stripped of a lot of the stock goodies the Rom comes with

hi can anyone help me i would like to remove the crt animation when u press the power button to sleep/wake if someone could remove this and repackage the rom or make a .zip file i can flash, it would be very appreciable thanks
try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1480839&d=1352883824
found it in explorer section so its designed for sense 3.5. if it don't work let me know and ill modify it
---------- Post added at 11:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:56 PM ----------
you can also use an app called spare parts. change window animations and transition animations to fast and it tends to stop them
thanks but ive already tried the .zip file so i will try the other method and report back,
and can u help as ive tried all roms for the salsa and some work with facebook app and some dont
also i dont know how ive managed it with this rom in the thread but when i install it it dosent install the apps from the data/app folder on the rom and the maps app wont update either, i had tried to use cygwin and the kitchen to remove the crt thing but never made the .zip or flased that i just downloaded the rom again but even wiping the flash card still dosent install them
but basically what i would like to know is if it is possible to port the dialer the people app the gallery messages and camera music apps from sense 3.5 to a iconic sense 2.1 rom without crt and im not fussed about boot
rom but kinda like the 1 from the rom in this thread
i have a salsa with
iconic_g pvt ship s-on rv
hboot 1.08.0000
microp-0558
radio-7.51.35.19
dec 16 2011,16:12:07

no its not possible
What your trying to accomplish is a nightmare.
The facebook app will work with most of our roms just not sense 3.5. If your referring to the apps that are Inc in the 3.5 rom data, have you made a ext3 partition? This tends to be why. What script did you flash with the rom if any.
Iconic is old and cumbersome and persoanlly I would upgrade and not use them.
Stay away from sense 3.5 due to the app/cache problems that come with it.
We have tried porting apps and such from other roms with fail. Some do work but come with fc after time and isn't worth the hassle it gives.
Hi thanks for the reply, so can u help me with y the data apps won't install from rom or that the maps app won't update thanks
Triple wipe everything and use ext3 partition. What script did you use

iconic was the first.
since we have thing rom
m1nds sense2.1
BigBear X 3 Types
CM7
all are 2.3.3/2.3.5 based.
i think then your not wiping the sections correctly or the phone isn't and when installing its not installing the data part into the device. do you have ext3 present?
Do u have links for the builds plz and do u mean ext as second partition ?
