[REF] FFC Rom Support - Vibrant Android Development

In an effort to keep posting down in the FFC thread for countless what works and what doesn't work questions, I've decided to due a mass testing of all the current ROM's and whether they allow FFC support. If you have results not seen here, please post up and I'll add them to the OP. I didn't perform these tests with Revision 1 so these are for Revision 2.
Attached to this post is a .zip file with the 2 working camera and camera firmware apks I recommend adding to any ROM with a camera apk that only supports rear facing cameras. This .zip is not CWM flashable. Just extract the 2 files and replace the place them in your phones /system/app folder and overwrite the existing ones.
Currently this is only about the ROM's camera app supporting this or not. If you want, share your video chat experience as well.
Native means it works right out of the box.

Thanks for this. Gingerbread [Double Rainbow] has FFC support out of the box as well.

Atriarc V2 works out of the box using the V1 camera. Banding is present on rear camera, but in the camera app the ffc is not sideways.

Thanks for the replies guys. Please post whether you have the V1 or V2 FFC camera as well so I can add these reports to the right category list.

1st rev cam
I have the 1st rev. cam. Tested on this. I still see the banding but it is reduced when i take pic. Also recording video is much better than before. Im currently on bionix 1.3.1.

Did not help me. As before only camera works. no video.
Bionix-V 1.3.1 - FFCv2
Thanks.

o and this is the stock camera app
I had to install your files to get it to work.... So that makes me wonder how did you determine for frost to be native with v2?

Finally installed the V2 camera I got in the mail today and running on EDT ZSJPJ 2.2.1 stock tweated. running great. Tested video calling with Fring and it runs great. Image is not rotated. Running rom native without tweaks. Please update op with this info. Thanks.

(Rom)Simply Honey v1.0 XE (3/29/11)(SpeedBooster Added)

Fast. Smooth and Sexy!!!!!!,------------I present to you Simply Honey Vibrant Edition v1.0
I have taken elements from Simply Galaxy Sweet Honey 2.4, 2.5, and 2.6 along with a few of my own and your suggestions and come up with what you see here. In testing all three builds I've found that Simply Galaxy Sweet Honey 2.4 was superior when it came to speed and stability so that is the base which is Froyo 2.2.1 JS5. I have removed what I believe to be all of the green and themed it blue the rest of the way. If you see something in the theme that I missed or could have done better please let me know.
Credit for this great Rom goes to Simone201 over on the I9000 forums. I will continue to port the Simply Galaxy series as well for those that are happy with it or maybe don't want this much blue in their lives. LOL
Credit also goes out to ALL of the great Devs here on the Vibrant side without whom we'd all be lost.

Not sure yet. I'd say though that the overstock 1.5 is a solid kernel and safe. The Tiger's blood v2.2 run's very well too - it's faster - overclocked at 1.2Ghz. If your phone doesn't have issues overclocking - I'd recomment Tiger's Blood - I like my phone fast - even if the battery gets eaten up a little quicker.

[PATCH] videocam and camera on tatFroyosense
future use
Few things i would like to do, to improve the performance of possibly last sense ROM for Tattoo.
1. Using Arco's click-kernel-2.6.35
2. Trying to get FM work
3. Fixing Phone apk to recognize numbers without country codes
4. Fixing wifi signal in status bar
But i don't have much know-how to do these things, so i will try to read and learn, so that's going to take time with little time I have.
Hope some one out there, who could do these things better and quicker than me.
Well why do I want to do this, coz i do love sense.

It's because of the uppercase .ZIP extension. Either rename to .zip or just rename to update.zip and put it in the root directory of sdcard.

It's quicker than ProjectSense (I didn't try TatFroyoSense).
Battery life is excellent, compared to CM7.
Voice synth not working.
To configure Exchange mail, I'd to select manual configuration, cause auto config gives me FC.
Everytime I use Google Maps (last update), I have a reboot as it localize me.
Whatsapp is unable to sync the contacts (at the moment).

no disrespect to KrisInfinity but the fact that ProjectSense 0.1 is repacked version of Tatfroyosense with my videocam patch and with edify scripting so you can flash using Clockworkmod.
So i would like to call this continuation of Tatfroyosense only, to honour the efforts of Dexter_nlb.

[12/13/2011][ROM] BGS_INC2_REMIX - Android 2.3.3 - Sense 2.1/3.0 Updated - v1.2

Here is a ROM for those of you who:
* tried NilsP's Business Gingersense and wished it looked more stock.
* tried 00McD00's Inc2_McTwisted and wished that MMS over WiFi worked.
* don't want the overhead/sluggishness of a full 3.0/3.5 ROM but want some of the 3.x goodness.
* are addicted to flashing ROMs and must try every ROM out there :0
This ROM is a hybrid of NilsP's completely awesome Business Gingersense and 00McD00's also totally awesome Inc2_McTwist.
Visually it sticks pretty close to stock but has battery percent, custom 3G icon, and my own (very, very slightly modified) GPS icon - bonus points to anyone who can point out what's different with my GPS icon.
I'm using Tiny's kernel in this.
It has the Rosie mods from Inc2_McTwist so you can re-map away.
It uses my own custom bootanimation which I'm betting most of you won't appreciate. If you don't already know how to delete or replace it just let me know and I'll help you. (hint: /data/local/bootanimation.zip, /data/local/android_audio.mp3, /data/local/downanimation.zip, and /data/local/android_out.mp3)
As far as I know, everything is working. Let me know if you discover otherwise.
If you try this, let me know how it works for you. It's been running on my phone now for a few days and I can honestly say it's the best ROM I've tried. That's why I decided to package it up and share it.
As always, I take no responsibility for any damage that may occur from you using this though I cannot imaging how using this ROM could do anything but enhance your life.
And, if you feel like it - click the thanks button.
NOTE: v1.2 will likely be the last release of the ROM. I don't have much time to maintain it and it's working quite well for me. If you are aware of any significant bugs I'll do my best to address them but otherwise this is it.
BUGS:
No emmc in music fixed in v1.1
Camera will not save to emmc. workaround by saving to sdcard. This is working for me.
Video playback in weather is garbled in v1.1(fixed in v1.2 and as a flashable zip below in the MODs section)
Panorama causes FC in camera Fixed (fixed in v1.2 and as a flashable zip is below in the MODs section)
Editing a photo and selecting "Effects" will FC gallery.(fix is below in the MODs section)
PIN/Pattern protected lock screen will require a PIN/Pattern to get to the In-Call screen.
You tell me. I'll add any bugs/issues I can duplicate to this list.
TODO (feature wish list):
Native screenshot (not currently supported by this framework - may be possible anyway)
Beats audio (probably won't happen but hey, we can hope right?)
You tell me what you want and I'll try and add it.
v1.2 changelog

i know, some of them end up causing too much lag, memory usage, and just seem to eat up the battery a bit. as of now im waiting for business gingersense 3.5 v2.0 and give that a shot. in all actuallity i would like it if someone would just do a stock2.1 rom with no mods or all flash overs, but doubt that would happen

It uses NilsP's Business Gingersense as the base. I'm not sure what his is based on.

Call Recording Libs

Traditionally Moto doesn't support call recording while MIUI ROMs has always built-in call recording support though the Atrix ports don't support call recording. xploited has extracted the audio lib from the Moto Chinese ROM which does support recording >>
Please, use the libs only packages first and use a 3rd party app like AndroRec or CallRecorder

[NEW] 2.3.5 libs from Chinese ROM Now http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?mppmm3wo92ab5gl
I think I recall the HKTW build having this feature. Is anyone adventurous enough to try porting those libs to other firmwares?
I'm not adventurous, I'm just trying to spread some knowledge around.
I actually tried getting this to work.
Porting libraries from Defy is not an option, since the libraries are device unique and cannot even be decompiled.
+ I extracted the libs from the HKTW ROM for the Atrix and tried using them on CM7.2. I was able to boot fine but the call recording still didn't work.
It might be incompatible with CM7, or there are other dependencies, or we need libs from a newer 2.3.6 rom, I am not sure.
p.s. I can create a CWM package if you are willing to try them on the Blur based roms.

K... Attempt #1, files taken from 2.3.4 HKTW ROM.
Step 1: Do a Nandroid backup in case you get a soft brick from flashing these.
Package 1: just the libs, use 3rd party recording app to test the recording
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11446902/libs.zip
Package 2: libs + BlurDialer.apk, this dialer supposadly has a record button during calls
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11446902/libs+dialer.zip
I am also downloading a 2.3.5 chinese rom right now, so there will probably be attempt #2 with libs from that rom.

This is very exciting. Coming from the Defy community which I dare say is super active and very bleeding edge, I'm thrilled to be a part of the Atrix community now. Looking forward to xploited cracking this! I use the 3rd party app 'AndroRec' and I'll try flashing attempt #2 over neutrino and let you know.
p.s. MIUI seems to have cracked this in all their supported roms without a hitch. Maybe we ought to study that and see how it goes?
Thank you for setting these up. For some reason, CWM is aborting when I attempt to flash them (Status 0). Can I just copy the APK and .lib files into the directories listed in the install script?
EDIT: I ended up being too impatient to wait so I copied the APK into the system directory, and the .SO files into the /lib/ directory and....
the 2.3.5 file (that included BlurDialer) soft-bricked me. I could not get past the Motorola non-animated splash on boot. I am recovering now, and will post when I give the first files a try.
What 3rd party app would allow me to test drive just the lib files?
i'm using china firmware, but call recording is one-way.can anyone modify it??
i can provide the libs and phone.apk.

Sorry, I have updated the files and they should flash properly now.
Please, use the libs only packages first, and the ones with apk only as last resort.
If recording doesn't work with just the libs, it won't work with the apk either.
Updated files:
updated 2.3.4 libs http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11446902/libs.zip
updated 2.3.5 libs http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11446902/libs2.3.5.zip
You can use apps like AndroRec, Total Call Recorder or Call Recording widget to test these.

I tried the 2.3.4 one on Neutrino with no luck. You might wanna try the updated files above from 2.3.5.
Can you point me to a specific GB build of MIUI that has call recording implemented? Do they use a separate app for recording or is it built into the dialer?
p.s. Went ahead and downloaded the last MIUI GB build - MIUI.US_GB_V2.3.23.
It has the exact same audio libs as CM7.2, which don't support audio recording.
Can anyone actually confirm that this or other build of GB Miui supports audio recording?

Which version of China firmware are you using? By one way call recording you mean that only incoming calls are recorded or only outgoing calls?

It's strange why it would work on the Chinese ROMs and not on others especially MIUI since that is also chinese though based heavily on CM code. On the Defy, all Moto Blur/deBlur & CM7/CM9 ROMs didn't support it, but all MIUI variants supported it.
MIUI team have pledged to open their code soon to the public and a few MIUI apps have already gone open. Maybe that ought to give us some insights?
https://github.com/MiCode
i remember when i used to have an HTC some developer had to patch the kernel to get the call recording feature to work.. not just lib changes
OK. Can anyone point me to a specific ROM for the Atrix that has call recording?
I have just downloaded PureBlur 1.1 which is based on HKTW 2.3.4 and it the call recording on it also doesn't work. Strange.

That's the thing, MIUI for Atrix DOESN'T have call recording. Miui provides a feature for recording, but without the proper libs it will not work.

I would like to compile a list of Android phones that either...
1) Come with native call recording functionality.
2) Support call recording with 3rd party app/hack/ROM.
Please note that phones/apps that require using speakerphones (i.e. muffled voice from the other side; cannot record while headsets are used) to record the calls do *not* count. You can test by recording with a headset, Bluetooth or wired, and see if the voices from both sides are still loud and clear.
Most, if not all, "call recorder" apps on Android Market make use of such "speakerphone" hacks.
Models that have this function built-in.
Meizu M9
Motorola Defy (Chinese mainland version ME525)
Motorola XT701
Samsung Galaxy S (South Korean version SHW-M110S, with firmware DH09 or newer)
Models that don't have this function built-in but can use a 3rd party app/hack/ROM to record calls in both ways without turning on speakerphone.
HTC Desire; requires root and custom kernel/ROM
HTC HD2; requires custom rom and patch
HTC Hero/DROID ERIS; requires root and custom kernel; with rViox, support thread
HTC Magic (a.k.a. G2); requires root and custom kernel; with rViox, support thread
HTC Sensation; requires custom kernel, ROM and 3rd party app, support thread; Thanks to ccris
HTC Wildfire; requires root and custom kernel; with rViox, support thread
Motorola Defy; requires Chinese 2.2 ROM or Hacks with 3rd Party App or CM7 with 3rd Party App
Samsung i9000 (Galaxy S); with Hacks #1 or #2
Samsung i9100 (Galaxy S II); with 3rd Party App
Sony Ericsson X10, X10 Mini Pro and X8; with Call Recorder by Schass Innab
ZTE Blade (a.k.a. Orange San Francisco); requires custom ROM
The original issue 2117: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2117
Original thread: http://androidforums.com/android-lou...-function.html
call recording works on 4.5.3-118-OLY-3 (45.2.14.ME860.ChinaRetail.en)
with stock radio of this firmware(BP_N_01.41.00R) and stock kernel of this firmware
File does not work on the latest CM7
The ROM mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1615689 has working call recording. Maybe this ROM can serve as a good starting material to make a CWM-flashable ZIP with the requisite customization.
is there a custom kernel available for ATrix that support 2way call recording? i heard of "bricked" kernel for HTC sensation that supports it. there is an app by "skvalex" in market but he said only snapdragon chipset are supported. so atrix is a tegra. i guess no recording?

Another ColorOS Camera Port [Last Update : Version K1&K2] [18/07/15]

Andriman's OppoCamera Mod
This is not an update for @BOOTMGR camera. This is my private port of @andriman 's camera mod. It's got a enormous number of customizations and you can read more in detail about them here. Also don't forget to thank him.
Again this is my private port so don't bug the other developers about issues with this app.
Issues -
- Doesn't work on cm11 ART.
- The plugins for this app aren't compatible with bootmgr's app. If you wish to revert to his app please use this flashable zip to remove all my plugins and replace them with those which are compatible with his app.
- To make manual focus work please refer to this thread.
Changelog:
Since the last release was really buggy i am uploading two versions this time. Use whichever works well for you. Both have the same features included and major bugfixes. All the plugins are already included in the flashable zip file.
Version K1
- Based on ColorOS Camera version 2.0_3453_150604
Version K2
- Based on ColorOS Camera version 2.0_3438_150603
Also JPEG Quality has been set to 100% in both these apps. (Thanks to @Riichard63)
To avoid all the confusion regarding different plugins from @bootmgr's app i have made a flashable zip which replaces my plugins with those which are compatible with his app - http://www.mediafire.com/download/7muc6r6uya2vrlj/Revert-to-BOOTMGR.zip
Use this when you wish to install either his app (Version 2.5) or any older versions of my app (Version-I and below)
Version A :
Initial release
Version B :
Fixed fullscreen as default on cm12 roms (fixes focus issues when enabling onscreen keys and any DPI changes)
Fixed 5 plugin limit (thanks to bootmgr)
Version C :
Disable max brightness and fix video quality issues. (thanks to bootmgr)
Latest changes from andriman's mod v0.20:
- scene modes reduced to fit on the screen
- added focus and exposure menus
- scene settings can now be changed in video mode as well
- continuous focus in video enabled (start recording, select Fixed focus, then select Continous focus)
- Touch-to-track enabled for all video modes except of 4K UHD
Version D:
Changed image and video file name format. Now pictures will save as IMG_yyyyMMdd_HHmmss.
Added options for sharpness and skintone enhancement in settings. (still testing)
Moved focusmode to settings.
Fixed geo-tagging (by bootmgr)
Fixed icons overlapping video tracker while recording. (removed a few options...let me know if u need me to add other options)
Version E:
- Replaced the green arrows and added all the missing icons
- Removed smart scene as it was a little buggy and added intelligent scene to settings
- Fixed timed shots looping
- Disabled focus before recording (fixes blurs at the beginning of the recording)
(I haven't added 'continuous focus in video' from bootmgr's app because its the same as 'Continuous' option in Settings>Focus Mode)
- Added zero shutter lag (experimental)
- Some minor changes to make touch-to-track work properly. It will work during recording too. (tap with two fingers on the screen to activate it)
- Removed sharpness and skintone enhancement since those options require more code to work
Version F :
Rebased to new version V2.0.2393.150306
All latest fixes from bootmgr's app.
- Added option to disable/enable flash when taking blind shots
- Settings can be viewed in landscape mode
- Can take upto 50 burst shots and all the pics will now be saved in a separate folder (DCIM/CShot/<timestamp>)
- Enabled 'v' gesture object tracker. (removed touch-to-track per user request)
Version G -
- Updated to latest official camera app from ColorOS Rom 2.0.50
- New manual exposure feature:
Instructions: Tap anywhere on the screen to focus and wait till you see a yellow sun icon. Then scroll up to increase exposure and scroll down to decrease it.
- Added Video Mode menu
Version H -
- 4k support for cm12/12s roms
- Added Video Quality toggle. Please select 'highest' for best output.
Version I -
- Re-based to camera app from Color OS 2.1 (Lollipop)
- Reduced memory usage (removed a couple of unneeded features)
- Tweaked UI to lessen all the lags
- Latest bugfixes from bootmgr's app
- Few more bugfixes by me
Version J:
- Rebased to latest ColorOS app
- UI tweaked for smoother response
- Added latest changes from andriman's app
- Added a few fixes from bootmgr
- All plugins updated to latest versions.
- Filter plugin preview bug fixed

Yup installs and works perfectly! Except for the same issues from the original camera port

I noticed in the issues section the storage bug isn't listed:

If you have the old camera try uninstalling and installing again..maybe the old camera left a couple of residual files
Or maybe the file you downloaded is corrupt?
Awesome app!
For those who dislike the app title bar (The one which says "Camera" at the top), You can use the App Settings Xposed module to hide the title bar, and you can also use the Force Immersive Mode module to force the camera into fullscreen!
