[THEME] Super Dark Theme v1 - DJ05 ONLY

Hey guys, this is the updated version of Super Dark for DJ05 ONLY! Do not flash this unless you are on DJ05. If you would like to install the full ROM, please follow this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=871198
The updated theme includes: New UI elements as well as some carbon/mesh accents, new themed Vanilla AOSP lockscreen, themed swype, themed settings. Smooth Circle accurate battery, reboot options, etc. I also nuked the annoying new e911 status bar reticle icon. Enjoy!

I see that the screen lock still unlocks with the menu key, something that has been occuring with most of the themes I've tried on DI01. I didn't think it was gonna happen with DJ05.

That is actually the default behavior for this lock screen. It's pretty easy to modify though. I've done it a few times for different roms or mods.

I sent a pm, but figured I may not be alone in wanting this so I wanted to post it here too, is there any way to get the custom but animation from the rom of the same name to use with the DJ05 stock and this theme?

The slider lock doesn't show unless you are using a deodexed rom. Other than that, not a single problem...not that I consider that a problem by any means

This theme is great. Obviously a ton of work and detail went into getting it as polished as it is. Everyone should flash this theme.

This theme doesn't erase anything.. But if you need it, I would bet it is under sonofskywalkers section of rom manager.

Can anyone please help me figure out how, or where exactly to theme this?

framework-res/res/drawable-mdpi or drawable-hdpi folder.
The images to change start with button-default...
You will have to change the xml files to change the font color though. And I have no idea what one it is. Maybe someone else will chime in on that.

I'm positive those are the button images to change. Did you recompile them using a 9 patch tool?

The png's you want to edit are either btn_check or btn_radio, can't remember which ones sorry

Im pretty sure he means the black buttons that are underneath the pop-up. Theyre called common_b_button.9 and theyre in the com.htc.resources.apk. Theres regular and small ones, so just replace them with the default_buttons from the framework-res.apk that youre already using and they'll be uniform.

Weird. All I changed in my theme was the ones in the framework-res folder. But all roms are differrent :-/

Ok guys i have rooted moto cliq xt and open home full i have my theme working fine can someone tell me how you people are changing the notification bar up top color or icons. I don't wanna change rom bricked phone last time. it seems like you dont need to change the rom so help thanks

You need to open your ROM with 7zip.
Navigate to system/framework/framework-res.apk/drawable-hdpi and locate the icons that begin with "stat", these are whats shown in the stauts bar at the top of the screen.
Drag them out into a new folder and edit as you want
The notification bar you refer to is named "statusbar***.9.png" depnding on what you want to edit, there a couple of images, the very top bar holding the icons is named "statusbar_background.9.png"
.9 image editing is not for the faint hearted, nor are they scary they just need understanding
You can apply the new images by adb pushing, creating a flash zip or metamorph(free from the market)

you must be on 2.1 I assume. 2.2 is much different. or jsut the incredible version of sense in general is a PITA to theme.

I'm running kaosfroyo. So its 2.2. But it's the only rom I've themed.

[MOD] Make Rosie Launcher auto Rotate/update.zip added

Ok all i bring you a new Mod that will make your rosie Launcher auto rotate to landscape when you turn your tbolt to the side
I am making the assumpution you all know how to decompile and recompile the rosie.apk if you dont read up and come back to this thread.
Ok so you have the Rosie.apk decompiled already open up the AndroidManifest.xml with your favorite text editor, and look for this bit of code:

ok here comes the tricky part, if you arent sitting down you better. change "nosensor" to "sensor"
so it looks like this:

recompile and bam you are done!
get it back on to your phone and enjoy landscape in all its glory!
a few hints, I chose with spare parts to keep the launcer in memory seems to help with redraws. also dont for get to enable auto rotation!! enjoy. if I helped out in any way just give me a thanks!!

For those of you having issue or dont want a themed rosie here is a stock Rosie.apk in a update.zip flash through clockwork. I have only tested it on Das BAMF so use accordingly. if you have a themed rosie you will lose the theme. I assume no responsibility for what this does to your Launcher make a back up before flashing!!!

all your rom devs im sure will either include this or have an option for if not, let me know. and ill get one one up. Or you can go down load My Linear theme which has it done already

Now the issue it that the Thunderbolt Sense widgets don't all support Landscape...
Unbelievable!
The Contact Widget and the Calendar Widget are distorted and they don't fill the screen in Landscape.
Also, something interesting, the phone doesn't rotate to landscape unless you launch it from the Car Panel (not that it really needs to but interesting).
I can't believe HTC would make so many different widgets, they all seem to work fine on the Desire Z ROMs.

I have a question about non deodexed ROMS. Do I have to do anything to the ODEX file? or just make the changes to the apk?
Also installed the landscape apk in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007745 and it does not work on my phone. Is that becasue it is not deodexed?

what does "rosie" actually do?
I installed the Perfect Storm and I see in my apps I have "rosie settings"
When I tap on it...is shows the internet icon and has a button to the right that seays "select" when I press it...all my apps come up.....
I am not really sure how this works.....can someone enlighten
me?
Also.what is 4 x 5 lanscape mode?

Hogowner: rosie IS SenseUI. It's the whole interface on HTC android phones.

This is modded LG MMS (SMS messaging) app (Mms.apk) to look like WP7. That light blue background is stupidly easy to change but although I changed ALL the color values that reference to it, it won't change

WhatsApp ONLY DEMO, not redistributing it
Can't make the text white because I can't recompile WhatsApp.apk , but anyway I find it nice.
I can't post it due to the constant WhatsApp updates, which makes a popup appear to make you update the app. If I post the apk, it will be signed differently, so WhatsApp won't be able to update. And I can't be updating this app constantly and posting, and don't know if it would even be legal.
The maximum I can do is posting the modded visual drawables. You just have to drag them from the zip (do not extract) directly to the apk (res/drawable-hdpi folder) using WinRar or whatever.

Not possible. Freaking frustrating I spent more time trying to find the ****ty blue background (looked at png's as well as in xml's and nothing) than theming the app...

How to install?
adb push the files to the same folder in your phone
e.g if in app folder push it to system/app
or
copy and replace the files using root browser on your phone to the same folder they are found in
e.g if in frame work file paste and replace into framework root file

Bit of a update on the next well update :L
I've been playing around with the XML files in the resources files to try to get the lists to turn black and the only change I've managed to get is a weird stripy finish which hurts my eyes this is good as its the first time I've got the b***** to do anything so its probs just one bad XML I'll get down to it when I get up
UPDATE: Got the lists to turn black (After nearly 4 days of trying) now ive just got the dividers, a few buttons and text to change and ill upload

ive screwed up a bit
some text input regions are white text on a white background *facepalm*
fix coming soon

Fixed the white mismatch on the popup menus
However Ive realised that some buttons a input text regions still clash
And the extended power menu is still white
So I've still got a bit to do plan on changing the clock aswell
Can't continue themeing for most of tomorrow so expect a update on Monday or Tuesday

Last time I tried a flashable zip with the blue haze Rom it wiped the files instead of replacingg them :/
I'll try it again with the next update as it was probably me doing something very stupid so it didn't work
In the mean time
1. Install root browser on your phone
2. Put zip on ad card
3. Open up zip on phone
4. Copy paste and replace the files to the right directory
E.g if the file was found in system/app copy paste and replace it to system/app in the root of your phone
5. Reboot
6. Enjoy
I've only got about 20 more images to change for the next update (well depending on if I want to do the sense 5 icons or not)
So it should be up quick
UPDATE text input feilds aren't playing ball neither is the extended power menu this is gonna be harder than I thought
