Can anyone please help me figure out how, or where exactly to theme this?

Any help with any information would be very helpful. Thank you for your time.
framework-res/res/drawable-mdpi or drawable-hdpi folder.
The images to change start with button-default...
You will have to change the xml files to change the font color though. And I have no idea what one it is. Maybe someone else will chime in on that.

I'm positive those are the button images to change. Did you recompile them using a 9 patch tool?

The png's you want to edit are either btn_check or btn_radio, can't remember which ones sorry
Im pretty sure he means the black buttons that are underneath the pop-up. Theyre called common_b_button.9 and theyre in the com.htc.resources.apk. Theres regular and small ones, so just replace them with the default_buttons from the framework-res.apk that youre already using and they'll be uniform.

You need to open your ROM with 7zip.
Navigate to system/framework/framework-res.apk/drawable-hdpi and locate the icons that begin with "stat", these are whats shown in the stauts bar at the top of the screen.
Drag them out into a new folder and edit as you want
The notification bar you refer to is named "statusbar***.9.png" depnding on what you want to edit, there a couple of images, the very top bar holding the icons is named "statusbar_background.9.png"
.9 image editing is not for the faint hearted, nor are they scary they just need understanding
You can apply the new images by adb pushing, creating a flash zip or metamorph(free from the market)
Check out the guide in my signature
If you need any more help P.M me or create a new thread so we dont hijack this one.

I don't really care for the HTC messaging app so following the guide somewhat from Brazildiogo732 seen Here I replaced it with the vanilla mms.apk and it works like a charm. Just wanted to share if someone else wants vanilla messenger as well.
1. Using root explorer go into system/app and delete mms.apk
2. Reboot
3. Download mms.apk attached to bottom of post and put on sdcard
4. Install via a file manager and your good to go!

Thanks for the apk..I always prefer the stock mms.apk
I have it installed and I can say its working just fine.
installed and works smoothly.
Wow, I'm shocked that worked. Lol. Tried that on the dinc before and had all kind of issues. But did it just now and works great. Sms and mms work.

To make sure you can go back, don't delete mms.apk just rename it to mms.bak. if you want to revert then you would only need to delete mms.apk and rename mms.bak to mms.apk and reboot.

Awsome find! White on black texting AGAIN!! woohoo!
Btw...did anyone notice the black dosnt fill the whole screen? There is a white border around the edges, as if it's for a smaller screen. Anyway to correct this??
Now I'm having issues. Sometimes my txt get sent 2 to 3 times on the other end...somethings a lil off
Can someone upload the stock MMS.apk? I accidentally deleted mine, which brought me back to this post. It would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you're going to tell me to extract it from a current RUU, I don't know how... please explain.
here's a post of the "vanilla mms.apk"; it has white borders when you open a text, so it's obviously outta place... small bug. if you really like it, no biggie. Please post stock sense mms for me!

I have the same issue.
Tested on galaxy 3 too.... Works fine....... Also people who have trouble with the black background..... Either disable it from options or you can edit the apk itself!

Also, it has an option to disable full screen keyboard in landscape which is brilliant if you lower the screen density!

Ok all i bring you a new Mod that will make your rosie Launcher auto rotate to landscape when you turn your tbolt to the side
I am making the assumpution you all know how to decompile and recompile the rosie.apk if you dont read up and come back to this thread.
Ok so you have the Rosie.apk decompiled already open up the AndroidManifest.xml with your favorite text editor, and look for this bit of code:
Code:
android:screenOrientation="nosensor"
ok here comes the tricky part, if you arent sitting down you better. change "nosensor" to "sensor"
so it looks like this:
Code:
android:screenOrientation="sensor"
recompile and bam you are done!
get it back on to your phone and enjoy landscape in all its glory!
a few hints, I chose with spare parts to keep the launcer in memory seems to help with redraws. also dont for get to enable auto rotation!! enjoy. if I helped out in any way just give me a thanks!!
*Known Issues
Cant turn rotation off.

all your rom devs im sure will either include this or have an option for if not, let me know. and ill get one one up. Or you can go down load My Linear theme which has it done already
Would you PLEASE release Rosie.apk for BAMF1.3.2? You'd be my hero... lol
Give it to me straight, there's no way to get this without root correct?
Thank you vey much for this, This is what I have been waiting for.
Now the issue it that the Thunderbolt Sense widgets don't all support Landscape...
Unbelievable!
The Contact Widget and the Calendar Widget are distorted and they don't fill the screen in Landscape.
Also, something interesting, the phone doesn't rotate to landscape unless you launch it from the Car Panel (not that it really needs to but interesting).
I can't believe HTC would make so many different widgets, they all seem to work fine on the Desire Z ROMs.
I have a question about non deodexed ROMS. Do I have to do anything to the ODEX file? or just make the changes to the apk?
Also installed the landscape apk in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007745 and it does not work on my phone. Is that becasue it is not deodexed?
Thanks
If only the 4x5 didn't look retarded in landscape...
Btw anyone on my rom that wants to use this ill make it an optional mod later today.

Two things: can I go into rosie through rootexplorer and change this, or is it going to f with the file? And do you know how I can ditch this personalize button?
3 things I guess: thanks for the gps remover!

The themed Swype apks below are all version 3.6.84.26668 and support hdpi only. I have not figured out how to change the trace color on this version yet. The method that worked for older versions (where you hex edit the libSwypeCore shared object file) is not working for this newest version of Swype. To install, copy the apk to your SD card, uninstall any existing Swype, and then install the downloaded apk.

Please let me know if you figure that out, and I'll do the same.

I did find the old color code DDA25B in the libSwypeCore.so file and changed it, but when you run the apk, not a peep of what it affected.

I tried taking a photoshop eyedropper sample of the new swype trail color, but the transparency along with the background may be outputting the wrong code because I couldn't find the hex version in the .so file.
I'll post a screen shot of the trace going over a black and a white background shortly.

Sounds like you guys have tried the same things as me. I'm pretty sure it's not in any of the xml or smali files. Finding it in the libSwypeCore.so file won't be easy, but hopefully one of us can figure it out.

I don't know if this should be posted here but I am creating an ics themed gingerbread rom and I was wondering if it is possible to decrease the spacing between the status bar icons to make it more ics like?

use GIMP,and re size the canvas of the icons.Make sure the images are converted to RGB under images/mode before you make any changes. And make sure you click on the chain link so it doesn't change the canvas height.Another awesome app for modding icons on the go,is Photo Editor in the market. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...mNvbS5pdWRlc2suYW5kcm9pZC5waG90by5lZGl0b3IiXQ..
Thanks... so no xml editing involved? I've been looking everywhere for how to do this.... and I was told that there was a guide on here for how to do it but I haven't found one as of yet...
Sent from my N860 using XDA
No xml editing. you're just replacing/resizing images.i do a lot of mine on my phone.i use root explorer to extract and re zip my apks, and update folders that i modify with what ever contents, zip them then flash them. you should be able to push the system ui with a root explorer and set the permissions, but flash able zips are just easier. Also,if you are using icons from somewhere else, you dont want to just scale the image as is.
1.convert to RGB
2.autocrop your original icons to find their base size(you dont have to save it as cropped)
3.autocrop the new icons, and scale them to the same, bigger,or smaller size as your stock ones.
4.change the canvas size back 38 tall by how ever wide.
I think normal on most Gingerbread builds is 38x38 for status bar icons.
I need to do it as a batch operation... I have 200 battery icons and at least 60+ signal/3g/wifi icons
Sent from my N860 using XDA
I don't know about batch operations on GIMP.You can search and see if there is a script available for batch operations. Im running Gummy rom on my Photon, and I did the 320+ battery icons, signal, data, and notification icons individually.Resizing wasnt nearly as hard on my hands and eyes as renaming/naming was:cyclops:

The only time you'll have to work around xml files,is with signal icons. like using a 4 bar icon in place of a 6 bar or visa versa. But then, you're just adding/taking away and renaming a couple of icons. some parts of the framework will require xml edits, but if thats the case, you can just run it through UOT kitchen first........ What kind of battery icons, and what size?

This is not possible without ssojyeti2. He undertook the task of completely remaking the dusk icons for use on this device, as well as his ICS Dusk clock that I converted. Thanks to all in his OP, vin255764 particularly, Ajthescot for transparent home, and Aedon for stat bar clock that Gumby63 put together.
Should work with any Sense rom.
The only know notification icon missing is for Google Hangouts, because their new version is being problematic. It will be fixed as soon as possible.

put an image behind clock!
yes at one hour figures will be nice to find out how to do it
after flashing the moded theme and every thing, I've noticed that almost all the battery images ending in zero are not themed, I checked the apk and the right png's exist inside the SystemUI so why aren't they showing?
Sounds most likely that the custom battery and battery xml are missing. That isn't a known issue with the theme in this zip.
Are you flashing the unmodified zip over d3rpONE, or different set up?
Edit: from screen shot, it is modified... Make sure the custom battery xml is there.

Really awesome. My suggestion would be to change the clock font to match the battery's. Don't even know if that's possible. Really like it either way. Thanks!
Our maybe just un-bold it?

I found out some extra images as well as differences on the publix.xml, Phonestatusbarpolicy.smali, styles.xml and Statusbarexpanded.xml, so I replace the public.xml and left the other 3 alone since those were the ones i edited, oh! and replaced the whole drawable-xhdpi and drawable-xxhdpi, copiled, signed and flashed, now I need to wait until i reach 100% charge to see if i get the green or the custom image (96% now)
edit: No man, Don't know what else could be!
Those extra battery pngs will be there, no need to remove them. The ones that need to be replaced are with the theme.
All images are called from xxhdpi, if they are not, something else is wrong. You do have the custom battery and battery charge xmls, correct?

All images are called from xxhdpi, if they are not, something else is wrong. You do have the custom battery and battery charge xmls, correct?

I think so, anyways I tried yesterday flashing your theme as is and got the same issue. Let me re-flash the ROM, apply your theme and see if in fact I did something to that SystemUI that breaks it
Edit: Ok solver404, after flashing rom then replacing just the 2 xml's and the smali, it worked, so i need to be careful now with what i flash!!

That looks great! I know that took some time on the flips, would like to see it in action. :good:

Really awesome. My suggestion would be to change the clock font to match the battery's. Don't even know if that's possible. Really like it either way. Thanks!
Our maybe just un-bold it?
