[Q] Apps don't want to download over 3g

Hey Guys
I'm currently running RocketRom 11, but I'm sure I've had this problem for a while.
I cant seem to download / install apps over 3g (Or edge ect) but things download fine over Wifi - even though the "Update over Wi-Fi only" box is UNchecked.
Any idea why or what I can do get around this?

there was a same issue with someone recently on this forum.. it was some issue with the APN.. check that

Can't find HSPA Only or 3G Only on Asylum CM10.1 ?

I installed Asylum CM10.1 Custom Rom on my N7000
and I'm trying to find the option to make my connection on 3G/H only
Anyone knows where to find it ? and if the feature is missing , any app or trick can do it ?

Dont know, if this works on asylum:
Dial *#*#301279#*#* on the phone and go through the "Change HSPA Revision" menu. Choose a release number of your choice (3G only, HSDPA only or both)

Doesn't work , Black blank screen , and when I click "back" phone app crashes

Did you mean this?
If yes, you can find it on setting>advance

It Worked

Installed Official CM10.1 (JB 4.2.2) SMS no longer works

I could need some help.
I just finished installing [ROM-AOSP] Official CM10.1 (JB 4.2.2) [NIGHTLIES] from the dev forums. Everything seems to be working just fine, except sending SMS's.
I can receive them but every SMS I try sending, fails.
I tried updating the SMSC number from the *#*#6496#*#* menu and toggle on/off some of the settings there, but nothing changed.
radio On
IMS registration required OFF
SMS over IMS ON
lte ram dump OFF
Edit: installed Nightly 5/30 gapps 4.2.2 GSM network RO

I am working on a solution with a friend of mine now....
there is a workaround as we speak....
use VZW Messenger... everything works there.
Keep your eyes opened and I will try to keep you updated as progression is made.

Thank you, just saw the reply, will try and install the app and confirm if it works.
Now to find the apk... seems like i have to manually install if i find it since i'm not on VZN or in the US for that matter.
Edit: installed VZmessages and HC SMS together with the latest Nightly 05/30 .. sms still not working. (Works fine stock 4.1.2 though).

Yes, I'm on a gsm network, orange ro.
I don't have a data plan so i didn't bother trying.

ok I have a same issue but with TobbysMod script it is all fixed it
this ist from a german siete but it only patch the build.prob for GSM an some other fixes an keyped changes for ö ä ü (Caps+A/O/U)

Same problem
Hey guys I am having this same problem, but I'm using the phone on Verizon. The problem just began with the June 2nd Nightly. I tried entering the Dialer menu but, when I finish entering the number *#*#6496#*#* it just dissapears. Any help?
Edit: Reverted back to the June 1st nightly and texting is working again.

It should dissapear and bring up a menu. If it doesn't yours is weirder than mine.

[MOD] Update PRL from Phone UPDATE 2 for KitKat

Update 2: Attached is an EPST that will allow ##778# PRL changes on KitKat ROMS. It took me a while to figure this out. I had planned on posting this up, but wanted to keep it a Bad Boyz exclusive for a short while. Again the teams intention was always to share this with the community.
Update: I finally cracked EPST. If you have changed your sku to 42, you can set it back to 10 and flash the PRL_Update below. If you have not flashed this, and would like ##778# to work, you can flash the EPST_Only.zip
The EPST will not work on a ROM that already has the sku set to 42
The attached zip includes a modified Phone.apk and the EPST and Fieldtrial apks posted by schmeggy929. This MOD will allow you to change your PRL by dialing ##778# while maintaining the proper CDMA settings under settings> Mobile Data. You need to be rooted to do this.
Instructions:
1) Open a file manager and navigate to system/customize/ACC/default.xml. Open this with an editor and near the bottom change:
<item type="integer" name="sku_id">10</item>
To:
<item type="integer" name="sku_id">42</item>
2) Reboot into recovery and flash the attached zip
3) Wipe caches and reboot
Note: Depending on how the location icon was removed from your ROM, this MOD may cause it to reappear. For those on 5.5 ROMs. this will also get rid of the persistent 3G icon in the status bar.

Awesome! This works on the Sense 5.0/Android 4.3 as well!

Didn't work for me either, had to restore a nandroid because it killed my cell radio. Running Insert Coin R279.

I thought PRL already worked on that ROM.
Try again, then go to setting>Mobile Data>Network Mode and make sure it is set to CDMA

EcliticOne and Insertcoin both have the sku_set to 42, but they aren't using the Phone.apk that I modified. If you flash the zip on those ROMs you will have to manually set the network mode.
EDIT: Also- on EclipticOne, I don't know how this might jack up the inversion. If someone wants to post up their Phone.apk, I will modify it so that you guys will have the proper CDMA settings- i.e. the ability to switch LTE on and off- while maintaining the color scheme.

EPST worked fine for me with insertcoin but I have seens others saying it dont work for them for some strange reason so this mod may be useful for those guys too.

This did bring EPST functionality back on InsertCoin R289. However, it does not get rid of the persistent 3G icon and it does bring the location icon back. Any body have any idea how to fix those two problems?

That is going to have to be fixed by whoever cooked up your particular ROM. 5.5 is not ready for prime time where sprint is concerned. The persistent 3g icon and the location icon are there by HTC's doing.

So, if we flash this will it give us a stock dialer? Just wondering what it would do to the themed tranquil dialer...

If you have a themed Phone.apk, have your sku set to 10 (please check out the OP), and flash the EPST_Only.zip it will have no other effect than to give you the ##778# function.

I tried this on TranquilOne and the only way I got it to work was to make the edit(changing 10 to 42) and flash the PRL.zip. Only downside was it gave me a black on black EPST popup the one where you choose View or Edit. I tried the EPST zip and it wouldn't even bring up the menu.

Guess I should have stated-
Won't work on odexed ROM's-
If you want this to work on an odexed ROM you are going do have to do a ch 755 mod

Lte lost in roms CM

When installing Cyanogen roms or based ( RR , Temasek , etc ) I lose LTE without reason .
But roms as DU , not this occurs.
Any solution ? : /

I have the Same Problem with the actual RR. Wanted to try CM instead. But when you say it's the Same issue, i don't need to try.

I assume you all have tried a simple reboot, right?

We must delete all APN , settings = > Mobile Networks = > APN. And manually load our company
