which 2.3 firmware did you flash??
same here.. however video player is fine and i can use winamp and power amp.
I've noticed the exact same behaviour in the music player. Good to know this issue doesnt affect win/power-amp.
Factory reset always first step .

Both Music player and Video player work fine here. Are you guys restoring apps with Titanium Backup? Some n00bs are using it and restoring system apps and when sh*t breaks they say the 2.3.3 firmware is crappy. As they say, id-10-t error.
No problem on JVK here.
I had the same issues using the XXJV1 firmware which was very buggy. Reflashed to XXJVK and now evrything is working as it should.....
I reflashed with.....XXJVK 2.3.3
i didn't back up my apps at all so that's not it, but as long as there are alternative music players that work fine i guess it doesn't matter.
good to know i'm not the only one too haha

Music stops playing after about 20 seconds for any song. Windows Media player and other music players work just fine.
Used to work fine but the problem seems to have started after I loaded up a lot of music (about 2 GB). I already tried to delete out my music but it still happens. I've flashed 2 other versions of ROM and the problem is still there now. I keep my music on the internal storage.
Anybody else have this problem and know how to fix it?
Help appreciated.
Update ----
I deleted all mp3 files again and did a soft reset. It's working fine again. First time I missed some MP3 file somewhere.
I'm experiencing the same problem:
after playing about 20-30 seconden of music(mp3)(doesn't matter wich player I use) my Touch Diamond freezes. This is real nasty, because it also affects my alarm, so I will probly get to late at work in this way. I haven't had this problem before, Im using ROM 1.93 EUropean with 20273 build. I will try another ROM this weekend
Hi Guys,
I do have a really strange problem with my Galaxy S i9000. It randomly plays music by itself without opening any player. I can never know when it starts and even if I kill all tasks and most of the services (all I can) it won't stop. If I open the player it does not show any active playback. I can stop the playback if I slide down the upper status bar. I also can adjust the playback volume normally but it is very loud even on the lowest level.
In fact, it is always the same song (no mp3, it's a FLAC) which is located here:
/mnt/sdcard/external_sd/MP3/Paul Kalkbrenner...Berlin_Calling(FLAC)/14...
Some guys in a Moto Droid Forum already experienced the same problem with 2.1:
hXXp://androidforums.com/motorola-milestone/64497-music-playing-itself.html
I have no idea what I can do. I did not test/hack a lot and the phone is set up pretty fresh and clean.
Froyo 2.2 (JP6) flashed with Kies RegHack
Root done with ]SuperOneClick v1.5
OCLF V2+
All installed Apps are major ones and well know. So nothing special, spectacular or risky. Does anybody know what the root cause of the problem could be?
I do hope there are some ideas what I could do. Of course I could uninstall the built in player, move or delete the file but that wouldn't be a "real" solution or explain what happens. Please help! Thank you.
Best regards,

related issue
weirdly enough I had a variant of this until very recently, when it just suddenly stopped happening.
In my case, the music player would repeatedly restart itself, although it wouldn't actually be playing a track. By repeatedly I mean every time I picked the phone up I'd check running apps and find the music player there. This was on a brand new, completely un-tampered-with phone.
I went to JPM via Odin recently and rooted the phone and then the behaviour stopped.
Is there any way how I can find out which process is playing the music? I could try to make a video when the song runs again to show that no application is running at all if that helps :-/
Hi,
I'm not a big user of music on my Captivate, but last day I tried to play some mp3s and had a bad surprise.
First song always plays normally but the player freeze everytime I press next.
I tried with different players (stock player, 3, Player Pro) and it has always the same behaviour.
I'm running Axura 1.01 with recommended lagfix option.
The only thing I modified I could think of, that could have a link with the music, would be unistalling DRM service (to solve battery drain issue).
I didn't freeze this service (uninstalled if for real ) so I can't really check if it's the source of the problem.
Any idea/help is welcome
Thanks!
I had problems playing music for awhile it turned out to be my external memory card going bad it would still work in my old phone but for some reason it would start skipping and freezing in my captivate got a new card no more problem

Mount the card on your PC and run a check disk
If you still have problems, save your data and run a FULL format.
Thanks for the replies
It's still not working, my music is located on the internal SD of the captivate. I tried removing my "external" SD, just in case, but it doesn't change anything, music app is still freezing when changing song =/
Any other idea?
Flash to stock and see if the issue still happens?
Seriously though - this is a valid bug for the Auxura dev to address. If the folks running the ROM do not have this issue ... its possible that you will need to re-flash the ROM again to fix it.
I've been using ICS on my O2 Galaxy S since around beta 2 of ICSSGS and never had any problems with it, until now at least. I had been using Doc's ROM V6 until thursday, when it decided to suddenly stop working overnight. (as in it would get stuck on the kernel splash screen). I flashed a a gingerbread kernel so I could reflash the ROM, which I still had stored on the internal SD. After reflashing the ROM everything seemed to be working fine so I continued to use my phone as normal on friday. However, I tried to play some music today and found that playback was in slow motion, making the sound very deep. I guessed it was a flashing quirk and flashed the official AOKP rom on to my phone, wiping all my data as well as the system partition. However, the problem remained. I flashed back to stock JVQ in the hope that this would fix it but no such luck, although the music plays at normal speed for a few seconds before slowing. The affected songs seem to be random, and it occurs in all apps, including games and youtube. Note, it affects all sound on apps that are not music players, whereas songs in music players are affected randomly.
Naturally this is quite annoying and it would be preferable to find a fix with it without having to visit a phone shop.
Thanks in advance.

Hi All,
I've been living with this phone as stock firmware since it was released however over the past month or so I notice it's been running slow. I factory reset twice installed less apps and it's not solving the problem.
Any suggestions?
I assume this phone have enough juice to run everything as it once was.
Most of the issues are from video playback. When I pause a video then the phone goes to sleep, after I wake the video and try to play the video it will get all weird and I have to restart.
By stock firmware, do you mean you're running android 8.1 that the phone shipped with? Why haven't you updated your software?
Are you using the stock huawei video player or a third party player? Could be the player.
