Hi All,
I've been living with this phone as stock firmware since it was released however over the past month or so I notice it's been running slow. I factory reset twice installed less apps and it's not solving the problem.
Any suggestions?
I assume this phone have enough juice to run everything as it once was.
Most of the issues are from video playback. When I pause a video then the phone goes to sleep, after I wake the video and try to play the video it will get all weird and I have to restart.
By stock firmware, do you mean you're running android 8.1 that the phone shipped with? Why haven't you updated your software?
Are you using the stock huawei video player or a third party player? Could be the player.

Has anyone else experienced this?
After the Froyo update on my S, video playback has become jerky at times, to the extent that the video stops but the sound continues. This never happened before....but it returns to normal after about 10-30 seconds.
I'm playing back xvid and divx avi files, approx 700mb.
Can anyone help please!? it's getting really frustrating!
Yeah I have also experienced it. But not in all videos. In mine it is just minute that is for about a 2 seconds and it becomes normal. I am slowly coming to the conclusion that I am better off with Eclair.
My videos are fine, but MP3 playback hiccups...also apps force close all the time, even mid-call at times...Eclair was better, 2.1.1 made it bad and 2.2 has made it worse
Galaxy S flashed through Odin...unrooted..don't know if I ought to risk rooting it..any suggestions?
I have the same issue..already did a post about it.
did u guys restore apps/system using backup?? as far as I know this could be the issue.
I will do a reflash from scratch this weekend and try videos on a fresh install.
I am convinced that this is one of the issue. I had flashed a custom rom froyo and I have also flashed through kies hack JPO. In both versions of froyo, I have the same issue. I have not restored any backup or anything.
yeah I just upgraded to asian jpd via odin was on stock optus rom. Hardreset etc. lagfix fixed via z4mod rooted. Experiencing the same jerky video playback with standard divx videos. Tried another data wipe but problem persists.

Did you find any solution to the problem.. me too stuck with the same issue..for me mkv's play good, without any issues..but if its avi back comes the jerkiness..
at least i'm not the only one....
I'm still having problems and I had to give up watching somethign on the way to work as it was so bad and kept saying "cannot play this file".
I started from scratch, done a factory reset after upgrading and it hasnt fixed the problem. Also I've tried to close down all programs before watching something and even clearing the RAM, but it makes no difference.
I'm getting really annoyed with it now! Does anyone have a solution? Anyone!!?

I guess it not just the galaxy hardware but other as well... maybe it froyo.
None of the players could help, but yxflash. The main problem with yxflash that together with smooth playing it produced significantly lower quality of video-rendering.
Anyway I've managed to solve the issue. The steps were:
full reinstall of official android 2.2,
hardware reset,
microSD card formatted,
the video converted with Movavi Video converter into Ipod preset or what ever your device needs. That's all.

which 2.3 firmware did you flash??
same here.. however video player is fine and i can use winamp and power amp.
I've noticed the exact same behaviour in the music player. Good to know this issue doesnt affect win/power-amp.
Factory reset always first step .
jje
Both Music player and Video player work fine here. Are you guys restoring apps with Titanium Backup? Some n00bs are using it and restoring system apps and when sh*t breaks they say the 2.3.3 firmware is crappy. As they say, id-10-t error.
No problem on JVK here.
I had the same issues using the XXJV1 firmware which was very buggy. Reflashed to XXJVK and now evrything is working as it should.....
I reflashed with.....XXJVK 2.3.3
i didn't back up my apps at all so that's not it, but as long as there are alternative music players that work fine i guess it doesn't matter.
good to know i'm not the only one too haha
I've been using ICS on my O2 Galaxy S since around beta 2 of ICSSGS and never had any problems with it, until now at least. I had been using Doc's ROM V6 until thursday, when it decided to suddenly stop working overnight. (as in it would get stuck on the kernel splash screen). I flashed a a gingerbread kernel so I could reflash the ROM, which I still had stored on the internal SD. After reflashing the ROM everything seemed to be working fine so I continued to use my phone as normal on friday. However, I tried to play some music today and found that playback was in slow motion, making the sound very deep. I guessed it was a flashing quirk and flashed the official AOKP rom on to my phone, wiping all my data as well as the system partition. However, the problem remained. I flashed back to stock JVQ in the hope that this would fix it but no such luck, although the music plays at normal speed for a few seconds before slowing. The affected songs seem to be random, and it occurs in all apps, including games and youtube. Note, it affects all sound on apps that are not music players, whereas songs in music players are affected randomly.
Naturally this is quite annoying and it would be preferable to find a fix with it without having to visit a phone shop.
Thanks in advance.

I have a 2013 Moto X XT1053. I recently run into the problem where if I play a video a few seconds later the video would stop. This happens on youtube video (played via youtube app), local video playback( play via various players), and also games. When I start a game it would boot me out to the home page in a few seconds (sometimes longer). Seems any video or graphics will cause this bug. I have not updated the phone and have been running 4.4.4 for a while without a problem. It just happen out of the blue one day.
This bug happens even if my phone is bone stock.
So far I have tried reset the phone a few times. I also reload the factory image via RSlite to go back to a fresh out of box state. But it still does the same thing. I'm looking for help and suggestions. Thanks
Hi guys,
After updating my sm-n960f (exynos) to android 10 via ota I can't play videos correctly.
With default player everything is fine but when it comes to third party players (mx player, vlc player etc) the problem shows up.
It's like I'm streaming a video which im not (playing from internal storage) the video freezes and actually there is a loading bar in mx player like when you're streaming ! I tried reinstall the apps, upgrading to last versions, turn off optimise battery usage but none of them works.
This problem is really annoying and I don't know what to do with this.
Help me please.
Thanks in advance
I would contact the app developer with the details. They will probably address this in a future update.

Thanks for your reply,
Of course the best way is contact to developers but since I have this issue on every third-party video player after updating to android 10 I just wanted to know that maybe there is a fix , trick or something that may help with this problem
This is a definate problem. On my Android 4 back up expria, ancient, android 4.4, all videos play fine. I only use Mx Player Pro, and find files using es explorer full. On Android 10 q, I tested same using a brand new 128 gig sd card, vidoes played fine upon installation or aforementioned apps, watched a vid, went to sleep, woke up, went to watch a vid, no video now plays. NONE. Tried different versions of mx player, tried vlc, different versions, but stuck with latest, knowing the problem is android 10 q, since the same 128 gig sd card with same movies all play fine in android 4.4, so yeah, get ready for the freeze's that lead to bootloop. I even tried wipe cache in recovery, and the factory reset, re-installed apps, same problem. Why they played, then stopped playing anything is beyond me, since i had no wifi connected, and no sim installed, quite simply, viewing video's in android 10 q is now a no go.
Symptoms include:
Immediate black screen, need to force reboot by holding power for 30 seconds.
Full black screen with tiny blue square dead center, nothing else functons, again, 30 second forced reboot
Video starts, then phone reboots of it's own accord
No video plays.
No, I dont have a virus, settings are set to sw decoding, since hardware brings more problems.
I guess they want us to go on youtube, but since I banned google in my entire network...
