Hi guys, ok so I was SPOILED with cool BLN functionality on cooked 2.2.1, now I've installed 2.3.3 and there is no KERNEL (as far as I know) that supports BLN.
This function is very important to me, so can you please tell me is there any 2.3.3 KERNEL that supports BLN. If no, can you recomend me some app that can demonstrate similar functionality?
Thanks
I know it's the same but the only other choice you have at the moment is NoLED
Is BLN working yet in 2.3.3?
Bump?
Any developments?

Does BLN work with some KERNEL for JVH please ?
I use 2.3.3 JVH Juwe's ROM which is very stable, but BLN is a question of Kernel.
Thanks

Currently no kernel manages BLN for Gingerbread, sorry
There's BLN in CyanogenMod 7 (which is gingerbread 2.3.4), but it's a bit more complicated than regular ROMs since it's based on AOSP instead of Samsung.
And it's a complete rom, not just a kernel, so probably not what you wanted...
hi
if you check juwe s rom they have posted some thread links about bln

Can use NoLED as a BLN alternative if you are willing to sacrifice battery life.
JVH and BLN
Thank you all for your reply.
I know CM7 release but there is worst battery life and no FM radio yet. Am I wrong ? I hope so
NoLed is no bad idea, but unfortunately it doesn't let your phone "sleep" which means worst battery life.
I made this topic for all of us / users of JVH who is waiting for kernel with BLN support (and with voodoo, ext4, sharpness fix, etc..)
Fugumod has bln

Hi, I've been searching about the problem of Wifi with 2.3.4 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118589). So i figured out that the problem could be related with Gingerbread's Kernel, So I wondering if I can flash Froyo's Kernel on Gingerbread.
Thanks
As far as I know no but if you want you could give it a try but here is another kernel that will work for gingerbread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14252293&postcount=28
I want to flash a Kernel that is oc/uc -able(just to 1.3 Ghz) which is compatible to Darky´s Rom 10.1.
I am looking for that quite a while now, but finding kernels seems to be a lot harder than finding Roms. I came across the Damian Gto and the Glitch Kernel (on Xda forum) but it seems like Damian does not support 2.3.3 and the Glitch Kernel is only for MIUI ?
Could you please help a desperate noob?
thank you
If I am corrrect from memory Tegrak have a kernel that allows oc/uv they have a few apps on the market to also control it. I know they have some for JVP/Q. Darky 10.1 I believe is JVH I'm sure they did one for JVH.
Good Luck
I will look into that and try to help!
thank you
I used the Tegrak OC app, which works but is not really stable.
And Yes, you are right Darkys 10.1 is JVH based...
Why are Kernels so difficult to find? especially for Gingerbread?
I am still searching...
I recently flashed my Captivate (I897) to stock leaked 2.3.5 I897UCKK1
I am trying to understand what my options are for rooting to regain wifi tethering capability. Unfortunately, I really don't understand the kernel interaction and the potential compatibility issues. Normally, I understand I just need to stay on a kernel that was sourced from the same version (in this case KK1).
Anyway, I am hoping for some information on what kernels might be OK to use with my current ROM. My wish list in a kernel at this point would be BLN, EXT4 Lagfix (Voodoo or new CWM) and Root. From reading, it sounds like there is a lot more support for KK4.. Maybe I need to move to a KK4 ROM as well?
Thank in advance for not flaming the noob (I hope)

I suspect you're right. KK4 does have a good following since it is the newest leak, and there are several KK4 based ROMs out there in active development that support lagfix.
You won't find BLN on any i897 ROMs, though. There's no source code from Samsung so there is no way for the devs to add it in. For that, you would need to use an i9000 ROM or a 2.2 i897 ROM.
Thank you!
As per title, I don't really like NoLED, but BLN requires the kernel to support it.
Any current (LPF, LPY) kernels that have this enabled yet?
I haven´t update to ICS because the BLN is very important for me. I´m waitting for a Abyss kernel for ICS.
If anybody knows if there is a kernel for ICS with BLN, please let me know.
I dout it very much they will be one for a long time much more important things (super brick) that's devs are trying to fix
Also most kernel devs are not keen on bln battery killer
