[Q] BLN for 2.3.3 - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does BLN work with some KERNEL for JVH please ?
I use 2.3.3 JVH Juwe's ROM which is very stable, but BLN is a question of Kernel.
Thanks

Currently no kernel manages BLN for Gingerbread, sorry

There's BLN in CyanogenMod 7 (which is gingerbread 2.3.4), but it's a bit more complicated than regular ROMs since it's based on AOSP instead of Samsung.
And it's a complete rom, not just a kernel, so probably not what you wanted...

hi
if you check juwe s rom they have posted some thread links about bln

Can use NoLED as a BLN alternative if you are willing to sacrifice battery life.

JVH and BLN
Thank you all for your reply.
I know CM7 release but there is worst battery life and no FM radio yet. Am I wrong ? I hope so
NoLed is no bad idea, but unfortunately it doesn't let your phone "sleep" which means worst battery life.
I made this topic for all of us / users of JVH who is waiting for kernel with BLN support (and with voodoo, ext4, sharpness fix, etc..)

Fugumod has bln

Something similar to BLN for 2.3.3?

Hi guys, ok so I was SPOILED with cool BLN functionality on cooked 2.2.1, now I've installed 2.3.3 and there is no KERNEL (as far as I know) that supports BLN.
This function is very important to me, so can you please tell me is there any 2.3.3 KERNEL that supports BLN. If no, can you recomend me some app that can demonstrate similar functionality?
Thanks
I know it's the same but the only other choice you have at the moment is NoLED
Is BLN working yet in 2.3.3?
Bump?
Any developments?

[Q] question about a kernel

You can try the kernel from "hardcore"!

You might take a look here if you haven't done already: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966646[16.04.2011][CF-Root 3.1] JP*,JS*,JQ3,JV1/K/B - su+bb+2e/CWM - rfs+ext4
Personally I'm on CF 3.1 (since 2.7).

You need to explain "best kernel". Regarding stability? Speed? Security? Features?
There is no kernel to which you can say "best kernel". Every kernel has it's positive sides and negative sides.
For example: A kernel is fast and has a good stability but the battery lifetime isn't so good. Another kerenl isn't fast and not hast not so a good stability but there is a good battery liftime.
You have to test which kernel is the best for YOU!
i think you need to try a FUGU mod kernel, it have Voodoo Sound etc. Speedmod dont have it
CF root 3.1
Tweaks app rocks

Recommended kernel for XXJVO

Hi Im looking for a kernel recommendation for XXJVO on galaxy. I cant decide between CF-Root and voodoo kernels. Other suggestions would be welcomed as well.
Thanks!
CF-Root kernel is more close to stock kernel....
Regards
Thanks! Already installed CF-Root and happy so far!
... also you can try Voodoo JVO kernel
Ultra fast (even without lagfix) and extra stable
I can truly recommend this 1
I liked the Dark-Core Kernels before i switched to CM7
CF-root forever
CF-Root kernel is ok
Dark Core or CF, can't go wrong
Fugumod bleeding edge ultra all on ext4 and flying

[Q] Kernel Help ?!

I want to flash a Kernel that is oc/uc -able(just to 1.3 Ghz) which is compatible to Darky´s Rom 10.1.
I am looking for that quite a while now, but finding kernels seems to be a lot harder than finding Roms. I came across the Damian Gto and the Glitch Kernel (on Xda forum) but it seems like Damian does not support 2.3.3 and the Glitch Kernel is only for MIUI ?
Could you please help a desperate noob?
thank you
If I am corrrect from memory Tegrak have a kernel that allows oc/uv they have a few apps on the market to also control it. I know they have some for JVP/Q. Darky 10.1 I believe is JVH I'm sure they did one for JVH.
Good Luck
I will look into that and try to help!
thank you
I used the Tegrak OC app, which works but is not really stable.
And Yes, you are right Darkys 10.1 is JVH based...
Why are Kernels so difficult to find? especially for Gingerbread?
I am still searching...

[Q] Galaxian EE SP1 Question

Hey Guys,
I currently have a Galaxy i9000m with Darky 10.2 RE. Is it safe to flash the newest Galaxian EE SP1 kernel to this rom? Should lagfixs be disabled? I wasn't able to find a whole lot of solid info on which versions are safe to flash this kernel too. Thanks in advance for any info!
i have the galaxian kernel EE in mi gt i9000 with darky 10.2 EE and works very fine (with lagfix enabled)
Semaphore. Latest JVR sources. Galaxian is still JVQ.
Semaphore. Latest JVR sources. Galaxian is still JVQ.
Click to collapse
what should i say... just dump...
Ofc you can flash through Lagfix enabled / disabled. Galaxian autodetect it and running with it
Hey Guys,
Thanks for the quick responses, but I"m still a little confused and don't want to mess anything up. I know that darkyrom 10.2 RE is based on JVQ, so is it safe to flash the Galaxian kernal right over it? My confusion lies in the kernal base and its compatibility with JVQ. Thanks again, my apologies for the noob questions haha
I used galaxian on JVQ and it was fine, I think the latest
galaxian kernel is based on latest samsung sources just released. Use tegrak if you want to lower max cpu freq
