Sent from my Hot**** Atrix.

I wish it was this easy to get a Bell SBF

Nice! Thank you and the anonymous source

FYI This update was recalled by Motorola

https://supportforums.motorola.com/thread/47993?tstart=0

thank you ....nice shot here

edit:
Unfortunately for rooted users, Motorola’s 1.5.7 update has patched the “psneuter” hole that previously allowed for Superuser root access. Overall, looks like a fairly minor update from Motorola for Atrix users. No word yet on a Bell version of the update, but I’m sure an OTA for the Bell Atrix can’t be too far behind.

site answered my question.. amazing what you can find from READING

anyone knows why it got recalled?

It wasn't recalled.. just updated 1minute ago

This phone and its issues are getting to be a little much...

flashed the SBF, halfway through i forgot since it cannot be rooted right now i can't restore all the apps using titanium. lol....what a pain manually doing it. So far so good, nothing really to report i guess. The only complaint i had before was when entering the car dock, if i wanted to open an app i would have to swipe the fingerprint reader in order to run anything. I hope this is fixed in the "misc car dock fixes" part. I'll find out later when i get in my truck.
EDIT: Also, teh touchscreen seems WAY too sensitive now. I keep inadvertently tapping things accidentally.

i tried flashing straight from gingerblur 7.2 and it failed. the process seemed to be working but at the end it failed. do i need to flash back to stock sbf first, then to this one?

Can't flash 1.5.7... currently with an aRooted 1.2.6...
Half way through the OTA update, it shows the Android logo with an exclamation mark...
Any ideas?

Never accept an OTA on a rooted device. Follow the instructions in this post and flash the SBF.

Captivate JH7 unroot question

Hey guys,
I'm new to android.. good riddance iPhone. I am a technically saavy I/T Guy and have already unrooted my captivate and figured out GPS and whatnot. However, I have scoured Google and can't find the answer to a simple question. "Do I need to unroot prior to the OTA JH7 update?"
Thanks for your help,
Trums

i dont think you'll need to unroot the phone but I *think* you'll lose your root once you update....please correct me if I'm wrong, though.

This is correct. All the apps will be there except superuser and the root will be gone.
I did this myself and after the update went ahead and wiped the phone (factory reset) anyway. I wanted to make sure I didn't have anything lingering..
thanks

Do you have still have the 12 MB file you got as a result of the OTA update. If so, can you upload it.

sorry gents.. I don't have the file yet.. will upload when I get it.
You can always re-root afterwards...
Does the original root method work with jh7? I'm not really interested in the super rooter type all-in-ones.

That's where I got mine.. www.samfirmware.com
you will have to sign up for an account but its worth it.
You will have to flash using ODIN. Make sure you get the PIT file located at the bottom of the firmware page too..
Plus once you have the account, you can always flash newer firmwares when they come out...
I know about the leaked JH7. I am running it now. I am only interested in the official JH7 update file, just to compare the two versions.

I am not sure what happened but I just downloaded the update using the check for updates on the phone, it started to install, rebooted the phone then gave me this message:
"The update was not completed.
No update was applied to your phone"
my phone is rooted, lag fix, side load and I did not try to undo any of that stuff.

The same thing happened to me, but when I go my phone settings I show the following:
Baseband version:
1897UCJH7
So do we have to flash back to stock to get this upgrade?
I wasn't too hopeful that our rooted, lagfix-ed phones would play nice with the OTA anyway.

weird, mine still says I897UCJH2
I would like to find out what I need to undo or change (hopefully not reflash) to get the update to install.

[Q] Updating my rooted phone without OTA?

So my phone keeps screaming at me to install a update, stock Rom only rooted, downloaded it to find out I cant install it with out the stock recovery and it would probably unroot my phone....
So I'm kinda confused as to what I need to download to update.
This all steams from how my old lady is picking up 4G at our house on her s4 and I'm stuck on 3g and I think it's because I haven't updated in a long time.

I'm with you... I tried doing my own research, found this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2795856) and asked if flashing the "Modified Firmware w/ Radio" file would be the correct one to give me all of the needed OTA updates. I was told yes (though as you mention, the size difference doesn't make sense), so I flashed it in Fastboot.
...and I still have the system update notification on my phone which I can't get rid of. If you figure it out, please post here. Thanks.
I hope to have the process all figured out once 5.0 is released so that I can upgrade without wiping, as folks who are not rooted and take the OTA will be able to do.

[Q] 4.4.4?

Hello! Long story short I was on 5.0 rooted and like a COMPLETE idiot I tried installing TWRP. Basically it broke my phone, so I went to 4.4.2 and tried going up from there. For whatever reason it won't let me do the OTA, so I was looking for the 4.4.4 Stock firmware for my G900A but no matter where I search, here or on Google, I can't seem to find it :/ Could anyone lend a hand? Thanks!

Use the downgrade firmware in this thread ( step 5 in the notes section of the OP ) after using that firmware you will be able to OTA. Just be careful not to ota to 5.0 or you won't be able to root. Flash the firmware in AP slot in odin 3.09

I'm not sure. Personally I'd get back to 4.4.2, root then go back to 5.0 using the thread i posted to you then flash
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3095987
Support is low for the 4.4.x since everyone has moved onto 5.0. Plus no one is working on them roms anymore. The TMS5 is a good rom and the dev is still actively working on improving and adding more to it. Plus in the OP of his thread he has instructions for using safestrap on 5.0.
Sorry i can't help out on the 4.4.4 i was never on it. I never take OTA's.

Oh gosh! Please do so...I'm a Canadian using a G900A and it is so frustrating how I cannot get the OTA's here. I hope CPA1 improves performance because OF5 is a sometimes frustrating.
Am curious am in Canada if I use vpn to mimic being in USA and I put in a AT&T sim card (not currently active account) can I fool it I to ota update? I tried this and it checked for update and said none available at this time. check again in 24 hours. Not sure if this is Cuz update is being staggered or if this is the default message when you are not on their network?
Also. If someone does provide the update after downloading it what is the process of installing it in stock recovery?

I am using a G900a from at&t and I am not at the states but still I got the updates, I dont know If you are talking about different updates but after looking at this post, just out of sheer curiosity I went into setting and checked for updates and it send me, the worst thing is I didn't want to update.. and there was no way to stop the download, so I had to Perform a factory reset before it downloaded... ( might not have been necessary to factory reset though)..
You are first I have heard of this.

one way to block the update is to fill up the SD partition. The update is not coming to my phone fortunately with a message to uninstall unused apps or delete photos and videos to free up 713.18 MB to enable the update process
That would be great

I think you might be able to use the ODIN images in that thread but you should ask. If you are on a full OTA OI5, then chances of finding PA1 OTA from someone else is pretty low since OI5 was never rooted, hence there isn't a way to get the PA1 OTA from a OI5 device.
If you are on OI5 with keep root as in the other thread then the first post has the steps; you will need to go through an intermediate step of downgrading from OI5 to NCE and root the device on NCE and then upgrade to PA1 with that image. Note that if you took the OI5 OTA previously, downgrading to NCE will brick your device (DON'T DO IT).

You really shouldn't point people looking for the stock OTA file to that thread. It's really for rooted users who want to test drive the newer firmware. Some novice user who just wants the stock update file can really mess up their phone if they follow that thread.

New OTA: G920TUVS4EPH2

Got this OTA after doing an ODIN of EPF1 to my phone. Baseband is updated to match, unsure about bootloader but I doubt it. If someone wants a ROM dump and is willing to tell me how....
I got this update pushed to me also.
Question for anyone who knows: If you flash this do you lose the ability to install custom low level software (firmware, recoveries, etc)?

It's possible, our S6 won't get locked on any 6.0 firmware's
Maybe on 7.0 if we get it. but not 6.0
And for clarification EPH2 was just security fixes.. everything else is still the same.

This guide will help you with all of it, just change the "the rom" part to whatever 6.0 rom you decide you want to use instead.
I'm downloading the complete TAR image from Sammobile, but due to finances I don't have the means to pay for the full speed..
So I'm downloading at the slow method.. If someone else has not uploaded the image, I will upload it by late tonite..
I'm still having issues with the damn Upload it gives me last second errors when I step away to do another task..
I'm making my final attempt to upload it onto my Android File Host... It should be up by morning if it uploads correctly.. Just Look For Zaphodspeaks in Android File Host if I haven't posted it yet..
I have many tasks to do this week ends.. Mainly upkeep the the old house and updating some of the old wiring while its getting cooler..
Finally, I uploaded the Image.. I had to recompress it since it kept giving me errors at the very end, just unzip and install in ODIN
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24651430732237823
Got my phone rooted, custom rom, and kernel that I was using before, no problem.
Last night (9/27) I got a firmware update for my factory USA unlocked 920T. Sammobile shows it was released on 9/26. It was a 50MB file that updated the Android secruity patch date to Sept. 1. No other changes. I noticed the Samsung Smart Manager app/widget shows I'm using 5% less memory now. I don't know if it's better RAM management or Samsung modified the app/widget to show different figures LOL. I suspect the t-mobile 920T will get the update soon.
