Urgent help please.
I wanted to flash the ROM with Galaxyer one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933028
I proceeded step by step :
I installed the patch and applied it, the TAB isnt bootloader locked, great.
I loaded Modaco Kernel ext4 in download mode, the Tab restarted. At this point, I disconnected the TAB from PC and restarted Tab in Recovery mode with new ROM zip installed on formatted Micro sd dard ( FAT32 ). Im getting a message :
E: Failed to mount / system (invalid argument )
/system may be rfs. Checking..
E: Failed to mount / data (invalid argument )
/data may be rfs. Checking...
.
.
.
.
File System need to be converted to ext4.
E: Failed to mount /SD Card (no such file or directory )
Cant mount /sdcard
Please Help, Im stuck here.
POST#6(in case your bootloaders are unlocked)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1013164
IF LOCKED, unlock by rooting the tab by manual rooting method than applying the patch on first thread.Than flash the recommended kernel.Followed by rom installation from recovery menu!
Do you have an SD-Card in the tab? It sounds like that's what you are missing judging by that error. An external SD is required by the MoDaCo kernel to backup your system prior to conversion to EXT4.
Don't worry this is normal.
1. Find Modako thread and read it, or read below
- Download the EXT4 TAR file
- Flash using ODIN (version 1.7, do not select the 'repartition' option)
SINCE YOU NEED TO UPGRADE TO EXT4:
Your device won't reboot normally - that's OK, just turn it off (hold down power button for 5 seconds)
Load recovery - turn the device on with 'volume up' held
Your device will now perform the EXT4 conversion - depending on the volume of your data, this can take a while, so be patient
Reboot, you're done!

Hi everybody
I was on the newest DarkyRom version on my SGS GT-I9000.
But last week I got the SGSII. So i wanted to flash the SGS back to stock to sell it.
A tutorial told me to flash JPU first and then update later to newer versions.
I did this and the phone was back to the original firmware (everything worked fine).
But when I tried to boot it this morning it got stuck in a bootloop.
So I tried to flash JPU again. But this didn't help.
I got error messages on first startup like:
Code:
update media. please wait
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
(No such file or directory)
E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount SDCARD:
your storage is not prepared yet. please use UI menu for format and reboot actions.
copy default media content failed
Since then I have tried to flash many other firmwares. Stuff between 2.1 and 2.3.6.
But nothing helped. The same error on first startup after flash and then bootloop.
Someone told me to flash CWM via ODIN an see if the SDCard was mounted.
Turned out it's not. When I try mounting the SDCard in the CWM recovery mode I get the following:
Code:
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
(I/O error)
Error mounting SDCARD:!
Is there any way to get the phone back to life or is the internal SD card just broken and do I have to send the phone in?
Greets
no one got an idea?
I guess not... :S
I have the exact same problem. But I didn't even tinker with my phone. I started crashing daily and now it doesn't even boot anymore.
I was converting my galaxy tab p1000 files format (rom android 2.3.3 stock version) to ext4, but while processing in cwm screen switched off and i restarted phone then (maybe unneccesary). But now no rom is working because internal memory, flash memory cannot mount anything, its like stuck between default version of files and ext4 and i dont know how to fix it. CWM and download mode is working.
I installed stock android 2.3.3 rom, but when it run cwm to finish installation after flashing by odin, i have error like this:
updating filesystem...
E: failed to mount / dbdata (invalid argument)
E: discard_filesystem_for_rfs: cant mount/ dbdata
wiping cache...
formating /cache...
cache wipe failed...
updating application...
E: failed to mount /data (Invalid argument)
E: install_application_for_customer: cant mount / data
your storage not prepared yet. please use ui menu for format and reboot actios.
copy application failed.
Installing multi -csc applied the csc- code 'itv'
succesfully aplied multi csc.
----
It cannot read flash and internal memory properly. how to restore default version of files - not ext4?

Hi,
Take a look at the Overcome-site and follow the Guide to restock GB. Then you can go on installing an ext4-kernel.
I did it this way : restock v5 - Overcome Kernel 4.0.0 (after reboot wait for conversion)- Hyperdroid 1.5... It might happen that after installing the Hyperdroid you get into a bootloop.. Simply reboot into CWM and flash the Hyperdroid Redpill Kernel one more time...
Guys need your attention & a consoling solution for my bricked phone, that can go in recovery & download mode. But the stock recovery mode says
--Applying multi CSC--
E:failed to mount/system(Invalid arguement)
E:failed to mount/cache(Invalid arguement)
E:cant open /cache/recovery/log
The troubled began when i added internet tweaks to build.prop.
When i reboot, phone got stuck at samsung logo.
Then when i opened cwm their i found error mounting system, & was unable to restore backups but when i used Rafael's "FORMAT ALL EXT4.ZIP" i was able to mount /system in cmw but these errors got shifted to stock recovery
now i'm able to flash zips & restore backups but of no use. still phone stuck at logo
Do i need to take my phone to Service center or any other advices?

The reason you are getting those errors is that stock recovery cannot handle ext4, that's normal.
Probably the simplest thing to do would be to follow the unbrick tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840645
thanks for specifying the Ext4 problem...
can i get back to Ext3 by flashing any zip through cmw recovery?
Well rfs is the default file system format, not ext3. If you use this version of CWM then you can go to mounts and storage > format /cache, /system and /data back to rfs. However you will obviously now have no ROM on your phone so will still need to either restore a backup or flash a zip of a ROM that includes the entire /system folder, which is most, if not all. I've never tried this technique by the way, so no guarantees here.
Also try to restore only Nandroid backups made with the same version of CWM that you are using to avoid problems.
Hi.
I have read 50 entries and I can not find the solution
quote:
CM10 stable + Semaphore Kernel

Seems you are on stock gingerbread.. what I'll think work is flashing a custom kernel corresponding to the stock rom you had on your phone..
flash the kernel through odin by going to download mode.. try starting your phone if it works fine.. if it doesn't then custom recoveries give you option to mount the internal storage while in recovery mode.. connect phone to pc and then mount storage.. you should be able to access your internal card..
