Hey I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this. When I check my gmail on my phone and if I delete it on my phone and then go check gmail on my computer later (more than an hour), the email I deleted on my phone remains undeleted and unread when I check it on my computer. Does anyone know whats wrong and how to fix it? It used to sync fine when I delete or read something on my phone, it mirrors it on my actual gmail account.

problem still persists, after deleting the mail from my phone I go and check gmail from my computer and its still there unread
Mine has been having this same issue for the last few days. Think it was when I upgraded to Cm 5.0.6
Fixed mine by clearing gmail and gmail storage data/data cache and reflashing gapps.zip
i do not recieve noftifications instant..just when i refresh.i jad some problems not sending email at all and a reset of settings and data solved...any solution for this?

After updating im unable to send Gmail... I can send mail fine thru yahoo, browsing the web is fine also... I can recieve Gmail but im unable to send. Any suggestions guys?
Manage applications, filter all, Gmail Storage, clear data and cache. Repoen Gmail app to resync, try again. Report if this worked for you too.
My gmail account hasn't synced in two days. Just gmail. Google contacts and calendar sync just fine. I'm not getting notifications about new emails. However...if I launch the gmail app...it shows new mail in the inbox under labels. But I'm not able to view the new emails in the actual inbox.
Anyone experiencing this as well? If no one else is having this kind of problem can you suggest a fix?
Sidenote- I thought about deleting my account from my captivate but I get a notice that I have to do a clean wipe in system settings to do so.
Help please!?!

Try going to settings manage apps and find gmail and clear the cache - you should be good....
I'm running CM9 Nightly (8/8/12). I obviously need to sign into my gmail account in order to use the play store. However, I don't want to sync anything from that account. The reason is that the tablet is shared by the family and I don't want anyone to accidently send e-mail from my account. I also don't want everyone reading my e-mails. After I signed it I went to accounts & sync and turned off syncing with google. However, my e-mail is still in the gmail app. I tried clearing cache and data on the gmail app, but that didn't work either. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Is there any way to avoid this?
Should I create a new gmail account like 'ryanDONTSYNC' in order to have something to log into that doesn't have e-mail / contacts / calendar items?

Everything is working well with my exchange work account through gmail except for:
When i delete an email from the inbox, it just comes back as an unread email. All gmail regular works fine, this is just the exchange account. I have tried to clear data and start again, but still have the same issue. anyone else? any ideas?

Gmail has been very buggy and not reliable. I've had issues where I link all my e-mail accounts or try to move emails and it does not work. If you have several email accounts under gmail, and you are trying to do an action while under the "all inboxes", switch to your individual e-mail account where it says "inbox" and then try deleting it. Gmail does not work reliably under the "all inboxes" feature.
The app could use a lot of improvement, imo.
