this is the frst thing i WILL REMOVE once i get the G2x... I really don't get the facebook/twitter thing.

Install Titanium Backup and freeze the SNS 1.0 app.

Or delete it

Just get file explorer which can access /system partition, like Root Explorer, find the specific .apk in /system/app and simply remove it.

isnt Talk.apk whats needed to communicate with the Android Market?
to be able to d/l etc?
I think Talk is needed. After uninstall I couldn't download any app from Market.
Mine works fine without Talk.apk. Running JP6.

Some people dont like their Call History and Text History combined into 1 big history log. This removes that so that each have their own logs.

Does anyone have the original logs provider apk cause this one ****s up the phone and makes it force close when you hang up a call and when you go into the logs then resets the radio.
Fixed. Thanks http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14851129#post14851129
Sorry but this did not work for me.
I got a bunch of FC and then I rebooted and everything was back to the way it was.
UPDATE: got it working now.. See below.
It did work for me. I placed it on my SD card then used Root Explorer to move it to my system/app folder (you have to have it set to read/write, thus you need root access), then let it overwrite the current version, rebooted, cleared my logs, and tested it, and it works for me. I'm on Deodexed, Rooted EF02 with busybox (no idea wtf busybox is). The op was updated and the download fixed at some point, not sure when, maybe you have the older version. I would suggest giving it another try.

When I did this a couple of days ago it didnt work on Odexed or Deodexed. I had to obtain the original one and deal with the sms showing in the call logs. One way around it (for now) is Im using the Go Dialer because it doesnt include SMS in the call log

OK I think it may have worked now. I deleted the "Logsprovider.odex" file in system/app and reboot once again and no more FC. I cleared out the logs and now waiting for a few calls and texts to see if the logs are fixed now.

Seems to be working great now! The only thing I did different was delete that odex file. I read some where that that's what worked for them.
Thanks for This and all the help!
PS All the old logs were still there until I deleted them, so at first it didn't look like it worked.

Why you don't use root explorer?
Just use Root Explorer to find the email.apk and delete it.
Check root permissions in SuperUser app. I had the same problem and I found out the app had no root permissions in the SuperUser app. Apps like that have a red circle on the right.
Thanks wery much.

You can disable it - problem solved But I agree, for those who are rooted, it's best to get rid of what you don't need to...
BTW. they should really STOP putting all this FB/Twitter crap on our phones... you can get those from Play, no need to put it as a "factory app" that can't be removed
