isnt Talk.apk whats needed to communicate with the Android Market?
to be able to d/l etc?
I think Talk is needed. After uninstall I couldn't download any app from Market.
Mine works fine without Talk.apk. Running JP6.

Install Titanium Backup and freeze the SNS 1.0 app.
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA Premium App
Or delete it
Just get file explorer which can access /system partition, like Root Explorer, find the specific .apk in /system/app and simply remove it.

Yes u can.
Put email.apk from v012 to /system/app and set permissions and that's all.
If you haven't tried it, I recommend the K-9 mail app from the marketplace. Seems to work far better for me than the stock mail app.

cant install the modded.
You guys will need to uninstall the existing version with something like Root Explorer or Titanium Backup, then manually move the apk to the /system/app folder, then reboot.

not wrking on my end here... tried the procedure it turns out an error , that it has a conflict on signiture so the apk was not installed. so i had to un install the original using Ti Backup, then tried installing manually in system/app. when that was ok reboot and check. there was no dialoge box for permissions , when i open its just the same app..

I'm looking a clean, stock ROM for the MAHD. I like the some of the motorola features, like swiping certain icons on the homescreen and having transparent windows w/ info about the app pop-up, but I can see the ATT $hit keeping the phone from running 100%. Help?

No to "uninstall" per say, but you'll have access to /system/app as well as /vendor/app where you can either rename or delete the apps

You can disable it - problem solved But I agree, for those who are rooted, it's best to get rid of what you don't need to...
BTW. they should really STOP putting all this FB/Twitter crap on our phones... you can get those from Play, no need to put it as a "factory app" that can't be removed
