Best apps for the samsung fascinate List - Fascinate Themes and Apps

I really like nitsuj17 lists that he has made for roms, kernels, and themes and thought I would start my own.
To begin with I have gone through several of the first pages of this forum to look for good apps to start the list off with. Some of these are apps that I personally have found to work very well and better than the stock apps.
Please post any apps that have to do with rooting, replacing stock apps i.e. (chomp sms, launcher pro, or live home), or flashing. Please do not post games and entertainment apps. I will probably start a new thread for those kinds of apps later.

Definitely Tasker.
Also: BLN (Pro), Desktop Visualizer, QuickPic, TiBackup.

Titanium Backup
ROM Manager

I personally do not think that desktop visualizer is that useful but that might just be me. Tell me wether or not y'all think I should include it in the list.

ADW Ex should be listed under launchers.

I think it's indispensable for custom themes. Personal preference I guess.
You could also add xda premium app

ha rom manager is such a fail

I would agree except for the fact that it makes it easy to flash themes, roms, and kernels without having to go into clockwork mod. If it did not have that I would regard it as useless.

other phones it has its uses...i dont even have it installed on mine

My name is Sneakysolidbake and I approve of this thread. I use damn near every app listed.
One I would add though is Tapatalk.

Launcher pro plus restarts after i done playing games !!!

Why does my launcher pro plus v0.8.3 often restarts after i done playing a game ???? It happened lately after i moved some apps into my sd card...it really annoys me when i want to change to another game, making me wait for the apps to load...and adding to the ignorance is the apps in the sd card will take about a minute or 2 to finish loading...Any ideas to how to solve this problem ??? Your help is highly appreciated !!!!
Model : Sgs I9000
Rom : Darky v9.5
Kernel : Speedmod k13d
It's not so much of a problem, as it is a feature, of Android itself. It's called Memory Management! And if your game is using a lot of RAM, it is bound to terminate some background applications, in this case, your third party launcher. It might help though, if your launcher app is NOT on sdcard. Also, ensure it is the primary launcher. Beyond that, we can't really mod our phone for more RAM But we can give CM7 a shot...

hmm....after hearing ur advice...i went n find some other launchers and i stumbled on to "Zeam" which i believe is a light-weight launcher...but the "problem" still remains the same...issit because i got too much apps installed???
On ADW launcher u have the ability to keep it running all the time. Just by turning on the option System Persistent under General Behavior-->System Settings that would avoid the launcher from closing
Try that one

It's not about how many apps you have installed. It's more about how many apps are actively running background services...

Are there any apps that are booby trapped?

Are there any stock apps that other apps rely on to function, or cause the phone to stop working properly if you uninstall them?
For example, Handcent has an option that allows you to make it handle all MMS and SMS messages for the phone. But if you uninstall the stock texting app (Mms.apk) you won't be able to send/receive pictures even with that option enabled.

"my files" is another one. If you uninstall that you can't upload pics with the email app even if you have another file manager.
And if you remove the task manager, holding home and selecting task manager will obviously cause a fc.

Does that affect the Gmail app and any other email app also or just the one named "Email"?
I'm on Doc's Master ICS V12 and I liked the task manager UI from MyUI Euphoria better. Can I just steal the Task manager apk from one ROM and install it on another or will it break something? Not sure how dependent things like that are on the ROM they're packaged with.

That probably will not work. That task manager relies on some miui sources so you will need to do some tinkering to make it work on a non miui rom. So most likely not..
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA
Yes just the app named email
Also, without "my files" you can't choose your own sound as an alarm With the "clock" app, you can only use system sounds without it
And without the stock gallery you can't change the lock screen wallpaper
This all applies to touch wiz roms, not aosp

What's the best custom ROM for saving ram?

What's the best Rom to save Ram
I'm on miui usually I have 70-110 ram free

Its not so much as you need a different rom as you should try stopping startup apps. I use autorun manger app and optimize toolbox. Download off the market and if you got root you can stop system apps like gmail and google maps from starting up when y0u arnt useing them. Optimize tool box has a task killer and a startup manager i disable everything in there except autorun manager. Autorun manager on the other hand i disable everythin except like android os and other important stuff like that. With the pro version if you have root you can stop the recivers which helps alot. Another app if you have root is fast reboot pro, which is another very good one to have. Try not to use widgets they take up ram as well. Using those meathods i manage to get my ram down to about 117 mb used, which is just over 200mb free. I hope this helps.

ive downladed The Dark Knight But in its data theres Nova Launcher(nova launcher is an launcher like Adw , go launcher , but nova is ics launcher , does this mean that the Dark knight is Launcher instead of ROM?)
Dark night is a rom but that is what they are using as a stock launcher for the rom

Theres this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devankit.mapp2sd&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5kZXZhbmtpdC5tYXBwMnNkIl0. But I've never used it (or the other tbh)
This is a must have App-- System Cleanuphttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.SystemCleanup.Inteks.org
Moves Apps , Freezes Apps , Deletes , and Backups and much much more.
It's a very powerful App and you should use caution with it but it's definately a must have .
Of the addblockers (also a must have) this is my favourite ---AdAway https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.SystemCleanup.Inteks.org
neoyoli put me onto this App which I'm really starting to like ----- One Power Guard https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.onexuan.battery

System Cleanup won't . It's manual . Although one of it's great benefits for the inexperienced is that it tells you what is safe to delete and what isn't.
AS to the othe 2 appto sd apps I don't know sorry .I would be very suprised if they were as it's not wise to just shove everything to the sd card. You would find the phone start up sluggish , important widgets would be missing etc etc.
who knows a tool for direct switch from 2g and 3g
