Thanks for the answer scrizz, but I am not so convinced.
Actually, I'd say its shares a very similar code base in ways that are relevant to my question. I know that GCR is a i9000 JPJ based rom, and this is a vibrant KA6 based rom, but check out little bits like the build props, the mod version is still even called GCR3 U6, so its not too far off to assume some crossover. I also assume that since Eugene's contact.apk rebuild is used in both roms to get that ASOP Dialer/Contact feel, and that is from the same code base, it may share the same problems.
Either way, I've already dL'ed it, modded it to my liking, and am about to flash, so I'll report back.

Found a FC. When you click on calendars under the setting to disable some calendars to show it crashes.

Had the same Calender FC mentioned above.
In answer to my own question, contacts works perfectly. It looks like this version is based off the HDPI contacts source, while the one in GCR3 U5 was the MDPI version.
Also the actual phone(not the dialer) is not themed yet, going to do some of that magic right now with the bits from GCR3.
In any case, Eugene, you are killing it. this is so amazing.

GCR3 Update-6 is now based off hdpi...
Regarding this rom, its not optimized yet & I forgot a few things..

Here is an updated version of Hawkish that should be faster and have the root issue fixed. The root thing was messed up because the updater-script did not specify to install busybox. Also, I fixed the bootloops issue because the rom was too big and I guess it only worked if you flashed from a specific point. I removed Post-it and the polaris office libs (the app was not even there). I also put in the new xcaliburinhand kernel but you can change that if you like.

You can go installing this as you please but I managed to flash this in the weirdest way. A pain in the ass but it works ( well for me at least).
This is for experienced users only. Don't attempt if you are n00b
Weird ass installation:
1. STOCK
2. Flash JVR rom
3. Wait
4.Reboot, flash this rom
5.Boot, wait about 15 minutes.
Bugs:
You may flash Talon. Might get a FC but its all good. Voodoo color!
Dialer fc ( disable audible touch tones in setting/sound)
POst anymore!
Fixed bugs(NEW)!:
Wifi fix
MMS fix
No more force closes! Except the dialer one, that is easily fixed.
Here is how I achieved root:
1. SuperOneClickRoot (found in the vibrant bible thread)
2. Run the program and it will get stuck at step5/6
3. Wait a min or 2 then just reboot the phone (leave it connected to USB)
4. After it reboots it will finish rooting.
After that I was able to easily restore using Titanium Backup and I've had no issues with root since.

Yeah I love the sgs2 so much, and im so bummed out that i cant get it (yet).
Ive been in love with the phone since it came out in Europe a couple of months ago. Yeah but i just finished fixing the root access bug, and hopefully the MMS fc So its all good man

Keep these jvs roms coming the browser is just amazimg!!!

I have a Vibrant, but in the next week I have a choice of a Gal S2 or HTC Amaze, they are both very simular other then Amled screen. Is there a reason i should choose 1 over the other, the price is free for either one.

Wrong place to ask there is a forum for this but i would say galaxy s2 for mw because of screen storage an the new touch wiz touch wiz is the best ui add on to android it is very light weight an optimized

why not integrate the wifi fix and multifix right into the rom?
shouldnt take more then a few minutes with 7zip or winrar.

To answer the question... After the total rebuild definitely stick with the SS-Series. I preferred Lithium up to this point (rebuild coming as well?).

Yes it is nothing I can fix, must wait on miui.china MIUI doesn't release source. just dont sync with FB Im about to take it off my phone it uses most battery when not even in use and notifications are turned off.

I am getting great battery life with streamline kernel....how is "NEO with FFC support" compared to it.

There extended settings for this beast or do I flash it again?? I didn't see extra settings in the list so I assume I need to flash it over? (ASS outta U and ME)

You need to flash extended settings separately. I don't include them anymore because they are sometimes buggy.

battery is amazing, i flashed this at 90% battery when you released it and havent charged my phone yet. at 34%. i dont really know how long its been. i think like 36 hours. but my math could be wrong.

the lock screens options wont work (only the 'none options work'
95% of the other options work
Some options are Duplicated
if you enable something in JKAY TWEAKS you cant modify it with the other menu again , you have to turn it off in jkay tweaks then you can edit it via the other menu
They are 2 sets of toggles now , you can switch from JKAY TWEAKS to the old ones inside jkay tweaks menu
JKAY offers 13 toggles options with specific features for them only (show 6 / remove text )
the old ones (called power widget) are customizable like they were before and they are 16 of them .

I think you need to be on GB Bootloader in order to flash this.

Does the GPS work? What kernel is installed with it?

Do you have to have gb bootloaders? If we don't flash them we just get the rainbow recovery?

...oh boy here we go with the bossy people again. Anyway ^ partially ignoring that, DAGr8, take your time perfecting it, and then some other little details when you have the time (said in the quoted post). No rush. I for one am very grateful support for the Vibrant still goes on after the CM7 situation. Thumbs up!

Not trying to be bossy, just asking a few questions and giving some advice. Glad we have people like you to stick up for others though... it's a rough world.

aight . I can understand where both of you are coming from , but please stay on topic , with that said :
1st , I need testers it is the first thing I specified in my first 'text post' after the op ..
2nd if you read the op there is A LOT of information ..I have not specified the modem and kernel for a reason .. (you can compare to ALL of my other rom threads )
3rd thank you but I dont need advices I need help testing a device Im tying to support and I do NOT own . Then I will be able to tell you what kernel modem are in the rom (as those currently in the rom are the most recent I found but I do not know there model number as I took them from the latest port of my work that is already in htis forum ported and unsupported )
4th I could put the links up already but if nobody has tested them how serious is that ? so I make a thread and ask for help instead I get one person giving ME advices and the other person telling him to relax .. I m not going to take sides here I m gonna rephrase one last time :

Coz its a different ROM....

get rid of the 'systemui.apk'... that *may* fix the status bar bug...
As I had seen in mastershefis's ROM, he has a MIUIsystemui.apk and systemui.apk...
That causes conflict between those 2...

I respect what he has done even Arjen does, its like having the (almost) same rom from two developers (guess i can call them devs or not). My previous comment would have contained an advise to fundooz to work along with master to perfect the rom rather than creating a new thread with the almost same rom.
For an example, you can see Arjen and Lupohirp themselves
But i didn't conclude that
Just stay calm and let everyone have their opinions

It's fine when people want to release rom's, but instead of cloning someones work it's better to work together on it. That's why I started helping Lupohirp because he was a little faster
We don't need 10 of the same roms, that's why my reaction was so harsh
