One thing that really bothers me is that when my phone rings the ringtone starts low and then slowly the volume increases. I havent found a setting for this and I was wondering if someone else found a solution for my problem.

I also have this stupid bug, annoys the hell of me, as i work in a noisy place i often cannot hear the phone ringing before its finished...
I've tried to find a solution, but still no luck.. It's not a largely discussed item yet..
But i cant hardly believe we are the only one with this issue...

Did somebody find a solution ?
Can't help with the soft-to-loud ringtone problem.
But to get a loud ringtone, I sound edited a ringtone file to play as loud as possible (with some distortion) and worked quite well. Not loud enough for a construction site, but OK for most noisy indoor situation. I used Audacity on a PC to increase the playback decibel (I think +5db made noticeable difference).
Thanks for the answer...
It's my first android phone (comin' from a htc touch diamond 2), is it a common problem with android phone or it's only with the o2x?
Is the problem only on stock rom or also on custom (modaco, CM7,...)?

i got the diamond...i love the phone.
But i have one problem which iritates me lot...
Sound...When i call i cant here voice of the other person...
So i have to use speaker all the time.
Does ROM update will clear this problem?
pretty weird problem you got there... so the volume is maxed out in both system and in-call? be careful, the system/ring/in-call volumes are three different things...
And now, my BIG PROBLEM:
I am sure all of you know what a "beep" means... that is, when you make a phonecall, you hear those "beeps", indicating that at the other end, the phone is ringing... the problem is I CANNOT HEAR anything... i do not actually know when the call is connected because i cannot hear anything... the volume is so low that i can barely hear something if there is no noise at all around me... but the actuall voice volume is ok, when actually talking with somebody... only the "beeps" have the issue...
how cand i fix this? It is really annoying.. :|
ANYONE... there are hundreds users navigating but not one able to answer this? what a community...
bump bump bump
Ops, maybe the speaker is broken..
the speaker is fine... everything can be heard just fine... all but the "beeps" you should hear loud an clear when u make a phone call... i thought i wrote this pretty clear in the post above :|
same problem here, please guys
There is one more thread about this problem

No solution. I sent my phone for repair.
Having come from the HD2 I was suprised to not be able to change the ring type on the DHD, for instance I always used to have my phone set to vibrate then ring with an increasing ring volume, yet with the DHD I dont seem to be able to do this..
Is there an app or something I am missing perhaps?
168 reads and no replys?
Am I missing something so obvious that everyone is just ignoring me or does nobody else actually use/want that feature?
Nope, you are not missing something.
It's not like the HD2.
I am unaware of any such application, but given the number of applications, there should be one!
I know its not the "same" as the HD2 but you would expect something simple like that to be possible surely..
Wow! Android doesn't have this option? I knew I should have stayed in WM 6.5...
Grumblings aside, I've found this post in a forum:
http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-tips-tricks/115984-vibrate-then-ring.html
Basicaly, they say to use an app called Ringriser and use an increasing volume together with "ring and vibrate at same time" or use "ring and vibrate" (with a custom ringer) and create a ringtone with some seconds of silence in the beginning.
Get an Admin to move this to development tread + see if some one picks it up
Id like to see a vibration setting where it can be altered - to buzz more or less also.
Ive missed a few calls due to the low speaker o/p and an alternating buzz (with tweaks) would be great
Some of the SMS notification apps in market offer the ability to change vibration modes etc, but I haven't seen any specifically for a phone call. If spotted will re post.
By the way jusk want to ask a question...
Can we change the speaker, dont understan about hardware but can we use an other produced or suitable speaker for dhd ?

Hi everybody,
last week i got my HD7 but there's a reallyyyyy big problem. the speaker. if i listen to music or alarm clock, the sound is soooooo low, i don't even hear my alarm clock, that really sucks. has anybody else such a problem and is there any solution ? i already resettet the phone but still the problem exists.
THX
I find the ringtone and alarm to be loud, but when listening to media, a voice call and speaker phone are all quite low.
Judging from the other threads that were suggested when you started yours (attached), then yes, other people do have this problem.
We believe it is a software issue as in places the speaker is incredibly loud (games for example). Let's hope its fixed with an update, and let's hope you learn how to use the forum tools (such as search )

We had one update already and what nothing. It seems it's not important. I have the same problem as well. I tried to modify registry but nothing changed.
Agreed, they are taking their time with the updates, after all this first update was an update to get ready for the next update. What's all that about?
As i said, all we can do is hope.
in my experience if you use a headset, volume in phone calls is much louder
otherwise it's very annoying, especially when you're outside and there's background noise, i usually have to pretend it's very windy so i can ask people to constantly repeat what they say

more recent firmware updates (available here on XDA devs) solve this issue.
I flashed my O2 HD7 with the latest rom and the volume has increased.
@scoob101 which rom did you flash on to it?

Hey everyone,
I have the problem that the call-volume is very low. I've already tried different settings, but there is not really any help.
Does anyone have the same issues? When I'm in a silent ambient, it is okay, but e.g. in the train it is really hard for me to understand the other person.
And no - my ears are not THAT bad
Haven't really noticed an issue with mine, although not usually calling from anywhere that is too noisy.
yes i have that prob.setting the qualiser to bright and disabling speaker voice enhancement improves it a little. but still the call volume is low.
Yes i also feel its bit low... but not very low!
For me it's good enough!
When I have a call in quiet place or a noisy place like in the city or a cafe or something, I understand everything good
i have that problem tooooo.in fact i fight with my gf every time cuz i cant hear what she say ,any advice to fix this problem?can i change some setting and fix this?
It's not that bad! Try using the earphones
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
:silly: using an earphone is not a solution.. can someone tell if this issue can be resolved using some mod/software?

Did this solution work for anyone? I am not seeing much difference, please help me if there is any third party application which can be used to boost the volume.
I've wanted to find out if there's a way for some time!
I connect to my car via aux cable for hands free.
But when I get a call I have to increase volume 7 or 8 steps for me to hear.
And then when the call finishes, I get deafened from when the radio kicks back in!
Hi
I've searched a bit but nobody seems to have found a solution to this very simple problem.
When I listen to music on my HTC ONE through earphones, and I get an incoming call, I'd like to hear the ringtone through earphones.
I can't find a setting to adjust this behavior. I mean, what's the point in making the phone ring in my deepest pocket when I wear earphones ??
Is there any app or setting you know of that might help me ?
Thanks !
I'd like to know this as well. It's kind of stupid really... :/
