Cool! I would love to have that ability since the screen is big enough for multiple apps
This looks very very promising! I love the multi app layout. I hope this comes to the light of day soon!
Like how they call the OS on the Xoom Gingerbread lol. But yeah this looks promising.
http://www.onskreen.com/index.php is the official site for this. At the bottom there is a sign up option to get notified when updates for the product is released such as beta release.
i can see this as being an integral part of the next upcoming android tablets once tgw newness of honeycomb has worn off. The only problem that I can forsee is the need for better processors beyond a dual ccore 1ghz. The heat and battery drain would have to be addressed as well. But all in all, something to look forqard to

I'd kill to be able to just display 2-3 different apps like the above video even if they were just suspended. In fact that might be another option they could implement to save battery life. It would just make switching between certain tasks easier. I'm still trying to find just what my tablet's niche is in my world...this might actually make it replace my laptop for some work related tasks.
any new info on beta or release date?

Here is what I got back from Onskreen ... I asked them about release date and possible beta testing.
Hi Brian,
Thanks for reaching out to us and for your patience. It is indeed Q3, and we are working as fast as we can with the OEM's interested in including Cornerstone with their devices. It's consuming all of our engineering resources to work with them. That is a good thing and a bad thing. The bad because we can't yet support a user beta.
Regarding Honeycomb, we would not legally be allowed to release a Honeycomb beta with Cornerstone. Since the honeycomb source code is closed and owned by Google, for us to include Cornerstone with it and release it to users would be a violation. Any public beta we do would have to be on Gingerbread.
We're paying attention and know you've been reaching out since the start. We definitely have you on the list, and are doing the best we can.
Thanks!
Onskreen Team

Makes sense now the gingerbread references, clearly this requires modifications to the OS and isn't just a launcher, hence them being unable to go directly to users and being unable to release a honeycomb version.

^ This. It sounds VERY similar, but it's taken almost a year this to come out, and the NC is already fairly established (same thing with the Kindle Fire). It's the way of things. At least when you're ready to put the Nook into retirement, there should be a strong upgrade to go to.
It's a rooted Nook, which is a step up from the Fire....
Kobo Vox and an Easy Nook Color 2 Upgrade
The Kobo's most promising feature is definitely the AFFS+ display, something that could easily be added to the NC2. If it was just an updated NC then it should have bluetooth and FM in it. I was thinking that an easy NC2 update for B&N would be to:
1) Replace the IPS display with an AFFS+ one.
2) Enable hardware support for Bluetooth AND the FM radio.
3) ICS! Android 4.0
4) Video out?
I am not talking about an uber tab here, after all the NC is and will likely stay an e-reader primarily. It does what it needs to, and there is no reason to add more horsepower under the hood. But even if they only did what I suggest, and lowered the price it would likely fly...
They will probably not do it like that, and will probably f it up by taking out things that make it popular ( east rooting and booting from the card slot? ).
Still, for the least amount of investment, and maximizing their current designs lifespan that is definitely what I would do.

That sounds pretty good... of course with a slight bump in cpu and memory...a killer GPU is probably too much to ask for an ereader More seriously though, better speakers would be nice too and/or pen input.
Even though Adobe just mentioned it was planning to invest further in HTML5 after restructuring, a rumor from ZDNet suggests the changes could go even further by dropping development for Flash Player on mobiles entirely. According to an email reportedly received by the company's partners, its future work on Flash for cellphones and tablets will focus on enabling developers to "package apps with Adobe AIR for all the major app stores."
After years of battling with Apple and Steve Jobs over the place of Flash on mobiles it appears the company is ready to lay down its sword, with existing platforms like Android receiving only security updates going forward. If the rumors are true, we'll probably hear an official announcement later today, along with a few huge belly laughs from the folks in Cupertino.

What do you guys think? I think it's about time, and they should concentrate on HTML5 and not live in the past. But i rarely use flash on my device so i can't really care any less, but how about you?
Flash is still gonna work......
I'm kinda "meh" over this..... was bound to happen sooner or later.
Yes it will still work and we will still get security updates, but the development is over. And like you i'm like "meeh", the world must go on, and clearly HTML5 is the next thing (like we've already known for a while).
Flash runs pretty badly on my phone, so I don't really care that much.
I was waiting for the link below seeing as it's OT but

Same, especially when the browser isn't that great either.
Flash is running just "fine" on my DHD, but i never use it since i tend to have a computer nearby at all times.
Flash runs awesome on my epic, but as long as it still works, i don't care that its stopping development

Can someone tell me if this is going to affect flash-support in future Android versions like Android 4 ICS? Do you know if Flash 11.1, the final version of Flash for Android will be Android ICS compatible / optimized?

Flash for mobile devices is done, finito, ferdig, valmis, 完成, terminado. It won't be released on ICS or any future versions. it's the same with WP7 and other mobile devices. The one you have now is the last (you will still get security updates), so CHERISH it! Watch some porn with it!

Hell no As i mentioned earlier, i'm not a big flash user, so i don't really care.
Flash is one of the few things I agree with Stevie Jobs about.
Do you guy think that our little phone will be able to handle the new OS?
I donno. Most people doubted it running 4.2 and now it runs better than even 4.0! I hope to have a new phone by that time, anyway.

For this phone I'm sure someone will figure it out but if not the s3 will be at an decent price.

If I get another phone I would go big hopefully note 3 is out by then.
I'm on the no contract plan so I just have to pay $55 a month, but my next device will probably be a Nexus...
*pops up out of nowhere*
First of all, KLP is probably 6 months away at least. There's been numerous sources and *ahem* confirmations (still not 100%, but enough evidence to be believed) that the next Android version to be released at I/O next week will indeed be 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Secondly, as long as camcory, smartguy, Tim, and the other geniuses are still around here, then yes, I do see the Exhibit running the next update. May take a while for various drivers (wifi, bt, gps, and camera come to mind), but I bet they'll be hard at work to get things going. It's the typical ongoing cycle non-Nexus phones always have to deal with. Speaking of which....

Hey MIUI fanatics out there!
Last night, I stumbled on this post on G+:
https://plus.google.com/103335486449456213484/posts/DHeDAbUeVsQ
The guy clearly runs a full blown android 4.2.2 MIUI rom on his GNex, which is pretty exciting, cuz a port to our device shouldn't be that difficult at this point. Or is it...?
Well, thought I had to share this. Let's keep our fingers crossed...

OP, if you look at the MIUI forums, they have launched beta builds for Gnex and believe me there are a lot of bugs now. Once, it passes onto stable, someone or I might port it for mako.
Miui is always lagging way far behind Google on Android versions. And the version that they are on is usually very bug ridden. I like it but I hate dealing with major bugs, little bugs don't bother me to much.

I also tried on the i9300, and it is quite nice over there, so there's hope.
But I agree, it is not as fast as a nice aosp/cm 10.1/AOKP ^^.
I like how different it looks, and weither I ll use it for a long time or not, well, let's see!
I d give a spin to iOS if it were ported, just for the sake of running it on the N4, ahha

Alpha tester here! Wanted to spread the word now that we were out of stealth phase!
Nextbit Baton offers several benefits to users, including:
Sync: Keeps apps and data in sync across multiple devices, allowing users to move fluidly from one device to the next without missing a beat.
Pass: Send any open app in its current state to another device, saving time and eliminating the tedious process of manually finding and opening apps on different devices.
Backup and restore: Save apps and data to your Nextbit profile in the cloud, so you can always get your apps back on any device.
Nextbit’s private beta is exclusively on CyanogenMod, the leading open-source, community-driven Android OS backed by Cyanogen Inc. The future public release of Nextbit will be available first on the commercially distributed Cyanogen operating system.
“Cyanogen continues to reimagine Android by introducing bold new firsts,” said Kirt McMaster, CEO of Cyanogen. “Nextbit represents one of these platform firsts that could only manifest on a truly open Android. We enable Baton to become a native OS level feature, creating huge benefit for our users.”

So as of right now this is CM-only, correct, not a free-standing app? Looks cool, I like the idea of having a 'cloud' backup of apps and not having to take up space on my phone.
Could be very popular.... If it wasn't limited to CM. Just a suggestion. ?

That's because like PA they always push out "milestones" which are betas. Hardly ever a real stable release. But that's just my opinion.

That's not how it works.... It lets you, say you were playing a game, you paused in the middle of the race, and sent it to your tablet, it would pick up at that exact point, still paused even, you have to have the app on both devices, it takes the data and the apps current state, sends it to the clout and to your other device verrry quickly and easily too (source: i was in alpha)
How does it handle resources on the SD card? For example, a game that has a 1GB download of additional resources that get stored on your Data partition in some folder?
