Pls help me?
Which browser?
Which rom?
Which sites?
Browser - internal
ROM - P1000NUBJM2
site - tnt-online dot ru
Have you tried different browser?
Have you updated Adobe Flash?
Considered a different rom?
What browser should i use ?
Flash - 10.2
ROM.... i have P1000N - so it`s just one ROM on samfirmware
Try skyfire. Its one of the best in flash based sites. Also Dolphin HD comes highly recommended.
If it's like on the P1000, just avoid any and all WebKit browsers until a fixed firware is released. This means "use Firefox, or Opera"
not so sure about Skyfire, as it advertises as WebKit, too.

Skyfire is much better thanks!

Nothing wrong with the Webkit browsers if you are using a JMx build, though Opera is now my browser off preference.
Firefox doesn't support Flash at all, so rather defeats the OPs purpose.

Indeed, but considering he's got a different hardware, i just gave my suggestion. On jk5 WebKit was... Not broken, completely trashed
On jmi it works fine.
Firefox dosen't support flash? Didn't notice it, it's really a feature i can't care less. But hey, everybody has different needs.

I started to get embedded videos after a wile. They were not there when I bought my tab. Seems like it was doing it with every browser.
I just uninstalled flash and they started to load in the external player window again so I assume earlier versions of flash didn't embed the video. Sometimes I do have to download the video.. Oh wel..
I don't dislike flash but playing a choppy embedded video is no fun either. Not that it was always choppy.
My problem is solved after installing HymberOS From. Now its ISC. Everything works great on any browser.

I read that flash doesnt work on opera but i can access you tube which requires flash, it says underneath the video i need flash player yet it still works why is that?
I dont think opera mini would ever support flash.
After all, opera mini is not a real browser, but it shows prerendered on server pages/images. If it supports flash in the future, it will be something like Skyfire's flash support.
I would love to have decent flash 9/10 support on Opera Mobile 9.7 (including flash video and excluding the ugly flash positioning problems that occur now). That will be something much appreciated.

After all OperaMini is a fantastic browser.
Flash 10 was supposed to be supported soon, I remember reading this few weeks ago, by Microsoft.
I agree - that's the last element we really miss here.
OMini is kicking ass especially in slow data transfers, literally the speed is almost the same. But I doubt it will have flash....
OMobile is great only on high speeds but it eats so much data - and battery.
Anyway OM 9.7 with a real flash = amazing.
Yeah but my point is, why did it still play the you tube video even though it said i needed to instll flash 10

You need to have FlashLite 3.1 installed.
did it play within the opera mini browser or did it somehow opened the flv in an external player like.... coreplayer? otherwise, pass me the cab/jar fie of the opera version you have and i will try out

It always played this outside OM.
OMini Beta 5 and OperaMobile 9.7beta are available through Opera sites.
Opera mini sucks IMHO. Maybe version 5 will change that, but who knows?
I use Opera 9.5 and if a certain site crashes it, I use skyfire for it. CorePlayer handles YouTube videos perfectly.
Hi folks. I've got the last nightly CM7 before it went Stable, and most things are working great. (Running off microSD via single-card installation at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1022786 )
But I'm having a little bit of trouble deciding on the best way to configure Flash (v. 10.2) and the Browser in light of Youtube.
I'd prefer not to have to run the separate Youtube app all the time, but:
1. It seems Youtube.com detects Android regardless of the browser's User Agent setting, and won't display the standard Flash interfaces in the browser. (Goes to m.youtube.com instead)
2. It seems that using any User Agent besides "Android" keeps Youtube videos from playing when launched from the browser. They attempt to load and then throw up an error.
3. I would prefer to keep the User Agent set at "iPad" or "IE6", because many web sites load their simplified uglier Mobile version when Android is detected -- NYTimes, NPR, etc.
4. So if I leave the User Agent at "Android", Youtube videos play but I get the mobile web version at many sites. If I leave the User Agent at "iPad" I have to use the separate Youtube app.
5. Is there a "right" way to do this?
6. Is there any way to fool Youtube into displaying its standard Flash interface?
7. Is there any way to feed the "Android" user agent when visiting Youtube but the "iPad" user agent to most other sites?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can share with this humble noob.

Dolphin HD is still the stock browser, really, with just some add ons. Your better bet is Opera 11 Mobile - flash works quite well, and with a changed user agent string, does not get shoehorned into using mobile only sites...
Yes, stock browser. But I recently read that Dolphin is a skin or reimplementation of the same WebKit engine, so I wonder whether it would help? (I've used it under NookieFroyo and it seemed to have similar available user agents.) I guess I'll give it a shot later, thanks.
Edit: Thanks, Divine_Madcat. I'm not a big Opera fan (I've never liked it on Windows or BlackBerry) but I'll try it -- any particular user agent setting you recommend?
If you use Dolphin HD you can download a program called "Desktop toggles" that will allow you to toggle between mobile and desktop versions of the website.

Actually, i hate Opera on the desktop, but the experience on the Nook is amazing - its like using a full desktop browser (and with our res, that is a good thing). One thing that sets it apart, is that it is using the GPU (instead of the CPU) for page rendering, which makes the scrolling and zooming seamless. It also supports flash quite well, and the entire experience is very well polished.
As for user agent; i am using the Firefox 4 windows agent, but really, any FF3/4 or IE7-9 should work just fine.
Thank you! Sounds quite nice. Interesting that it's such a mess on the BlackBerry; it seems to get hung staring at its own overworked graphics UI reflection and often won't even exit.
I thought it was odd that stock browser doesn't have a FF (or Chrome?) user agent, though I'm sure one could be hacked into place. Thanks again.
All this hype around Android made me buy a SGS. Having flash on the browser was one big reason for acquisition. Soon I discovered that flash isn't what is promised, a desktop experience on my mobile device. I say this because most of the time (like 95%) the flash works so bad in my browser, that is barely usable. When trying to watch streams, mostly on news sites I get a message with "The video is not optimized for mobile" and the playback is choppy, sometimes when seeking, takes 10-15 seconds until the choppy playback starts again. If I try to watch something in low quality it works fine, but most of the sites offer good quality video. I expect more from a 1Ghz cpu...
Is this a problem of my device or is it general ? I have the latest Adobe Flash available on the market.
What firmware and kernel are you using?

Do some research... if you are using the Default browser, open it and in the address bar type:
about:debug
and hit go...
Now go into your browser settings and at the bottom there should be an option to set the UA String, select Desktop....
Downside:
some sites will still see your device as mobile.
you have to re do the fix Every time you load the browser...
Alternative:
try Dolphin HD broswer, it has a US string setting in the options already and only needs set once.
Downside:
Is a little slower to load pages than the default browser.
some sites will still see your device as mobile.
An another point, if you are using 3g... don't expect miracles!
sadly he's right ;( its not even working properly over wifi so i cant really say the net is the problem.
id say the problem lies in flash itself and/or its something in the memory management since ive seen stock roms delivering way better flashperformance than any custom so far, so possibility is that the stream freezes and has to rebuffer every time the memmngt cuts the memory, else you could just try to flash ubuntu and see if it works any magic ;P what do it know for all its worth it could be tha b0mb
good luck anyways !

Solution: Flash a custom JVK Gingerbread rom and DO NOT install the flash player from the market, but use the one that comes preinstalled! This way you'll have 720p flash videos playing smoothly.

I guess its rather a problem with some websites.
I never had problem with Flash player 10.1 or 10.2 (i am MIUI rom but i had previously JVK)
No problem with my SGS but i dont use flash that often so it could be as said some sites .
Use Dolphin HD browser mostly .

I have stock JS4 ROM, sorry forgot to mention this in the main thread. Also I am using flash only via Wifi. Actually I am using Opera Mobile and I've set the UA to Firefox Desktop one. Gonna try the idea with stock browser, maybe Opera has messed up something.
Honestly I prefer the stock browser most of the time but I have issues with it displaying the mobile version of certain websites (I changed the UA String to Deaktop as well as iPad). Firefox and Opera also seem to do this. Dolphin HD has been better but honestly it runs like crap compared to some of the other browsers. Ideally I'd like a browser that runs as smooth as the stock browser but consistently loads desktop versions of webpages. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Try them all is the answer. Really cuz there are not many browsers in the market. I still think the stock browser is just fine. Plus until someone has a better idea than tabbed browsing then I might change my mind.

downloaded the Miren Browser... works nicely but it does force close when you back out of the app instead of hitting menu/exit
I use both opera mini and opera mobile. they both work great.
Dolphin HD is a lot better now that it doesn't force close every time. I liked the stock browser best but now that they fixed Dolphin, I'm using that one.
I find Opera much faster. Downside is that it doesn't have incognito browsing(I think?), and Flash doesn't work, on XOOM anyway... But some would argue that you wouldn't need incognito because Flash doesn't work anyway.
I like the stock browser, but I find it a little laggy when scrolling through pages with a lot of content. And between Miren, Opera, Dolphin, and stock.. I would say Opera is by far the fastest.

Opera is definitely the fastest, but the greatest down fall is the scrolling.
when trying to read something opera doesn't lock the scrolling so you will never be able to scroll perfectly vertical or horizontal.
If they added that I would never look back at another browser
Also the long press actions on opera are pre 2.3.X so text selection and other things are a pain in the ass
I prefer dolphin. I set it up to view pages like a computer and I get great speed with it. It also uses flash. The stock browser is nice, but you can download the blue color pack and make dolphin blue also. took me a couple days to get use to it. Tabbed browsing and quick access to bookmarks is nice.

I keep switching between stock and Dolphin. The only issue I have with the stock browser is that it refuses to load the videos on ESPN most of the time. It just loads the pic but will never play the video.

I'm with you on that. ESPN displays video just fine in Dolphin, so I find myself switching back and forth between stock (I love the quick navigation tool) and Dolphin.
I am a fan of the stock browser but after a while it freezes and then force closes . My other fave is Dolphin HD and it doesn't always want to open a new tab when I long click.on a link.
opera mobile has been hands down the best for me, its the only reason i'm keeping the xoom instead of an ipad.
I've tried/used Xscope, stock browser, the latest Dolphin browser and Opera on the Xoom and lack the knowledge to do any factual testing differences.
Since it's all personal preference based on end users experience as well as what he/she downloaded and actually spent time with - My preference leans towards the stock browser but Xscope pro isn't far behind.
It doesn't appear many people use Xscope comparatively speaking (including phones) but it really is a gem and I would encourage people to at least try out the free version.
I'm curious why anyone uses anything besides opera mobile at this point? I've tried all of the browser options and opera renders and scrolls through pages far better than any of the others, they all just seem slow an unrefined in comparison.
I use the Dolphin Lite version of Dolphin browser. Been doing so for a while on my Droid X. On the Xoom I go back in forth with that and stock. I find the lite version does not have all the extra fluff that the HD ver has included.

You can set the User Agent string under User Preferences. For example: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.12011-04-22 22:08:44

I was thinking it was possibly just me, but I often have to do the long click several times for it to take.
On the other hand, I set it to open a link as a new tab by default, and that seems to work.
In any event, I'm somewhat tied to Dolphin because with the addition of the LastPass and XMarks plugins I can keep my bookmarks and passwords synced with my desktop AND still use Flash. So far as I know it's the only browser that can do all of this.
I've tried some browsers but not i could not find perfect one.
Silk, firefox : somewhat slow laggy and i do not like the interface.
Chrome, opera beta, etc : when scrolling down, the screen is not scrolling down, but just jump and stop to down
Scrolling up is fine. I donno why it happens.
Boat, uc, and some others : when i open a page which is kind long, it shows from the middle.
I have to scroll up for reading from the top.
What browser r u guys using without problems?

Well i used to have the same problems as you so i had chrome for daily use because it syncs bookmarks with my PC, It's main downside is that it doesn't support flash which is a big deal to me so i also had firefox installed for if i needed flash player.
But then hashcode released CM10.1 and WOW, JUST WOW, it has an AOSP browser and god this browser is GREAT, it's basically exactly like Chrome for Android and syncs bookmarks too but runs noticeably smoother in every way. It even lets you choose a user agent so you can fool websites into thinking you are browsing from desktop PC, Android, iPhone or iPad, It also supports flash and you can play youtube videos directly from the website instead of launching your video player app.
I pulled it for you from system/app, But i don't know if it's compatible with stock ROM
Give it a try.
