just a quick question XDAers.
I've got an anoying 'problem' at the moment and was looking for some advice.
Whenever I restart my phone [either battery dies, or using recoverd/ download mode] and connect it back to my PC, it always connects with USB Debugging on, so then i have to go into the settings and disable this.
I know its not a problem, but its just anoying and thought that maybe someone might be able to advise.
I am currently on JPY firmware, running Webstars Ultimate ROM V6.5 with SpeedMod Kernel.
Thanks in advance, Matt
does noone else have this problem?
As far as i know, speedmod sets usb debugging after you used cwm recovery mode. This is for your own safety in case the flash or some setting goes wrong, so you can still access the phone via adb from a computer.
USB debug should stay deactivated after a normal reboot if you have it deactivated before.

Thanks studa really appreciate ur help, ive tried that odin wont respond back at all..tried that several time with usb debugging on..
Usb debugging doesn't matter in download mode.
Reinstall drivers, reboot pc, use a usb port connected to the motherboard (on the back) right click odin and run as admin.
I was able to use adb on my Windows 7 x64 Home edition prior to rooting
After using z4root to root my Galaxy S - I9000 running Froyo
no matter what i tried , i was always unsuccessful
I unrooted using z4root and tried it but it didnt work..
Rooted it again didnt work
Thought may be to delete the device in device manager and then reinstall it using the drivers provided by Android sdk and NOT the windows update one...
Followed many others steps by various blogs and i know i am not doing it incorrectly but still it doesnt work...
I have tried to put everything in an image ,an expert mite need to understand my problem
If you are not able to see the image properly try this:

Did you make sure that in your SGS, Settings/Applications/Development the USB debugging mode is ticked?
Have you tried to reinstall Kies (to install / reinstall necessary drivers)?

What i did was deleted everything under Universal Serial Bus Controllers, uninstalled Kies and drivers of Samsung and restarted my box. and installed Kies again, set usb debugging again and connected it and Voila ! It works flawlessly now
Thanks a lot for your advice. Was getting mad after following so many posts on the internet. Finally everything is working fine now...
So i had to reflash the sytem.img through fastboot and the phone is fine but i want to reroot and my mac isnt detecting my phone anymore through adb. I am on the stock, rooted rom. I just got the OTA. But I need to flash reflash the stock recovery since I am rooted and on TWRP. But I can't seem to get USB debugging to work. I've tried rebooting both my PC and my phone, different ports, tried enabling and disable USB debugging in developer options, even tried resetting to default settings. But adb devices still shows blank on my PC. Any idea what is the issue? I usually got a pop up to show that ADB is being requested and I will have to agree to it but I cant seem to get that popup now.

I had similar problem before. Try this, with no Connection to PC, revoke usb debug authorisations, and restored default in deverloper option, setbupn USB debug again then connect to PC . if that don't work , try rebooting pc
