Help getting my rooted stuff back via Titianium backup - Nook Color General

For several reasons which I won't go into, I did the erase and deregister routine and now I am back looking at a stock screen. I still have nook tools and superuser in the extras. I have Titianium backups on my sdcard but don't know how to get it back on the nookcolor. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

[GUIDE] How to *UN*root your Droid Bionic

Follow this link: http://www.psouza4.com/Droid3/PetesMotorolaRootTools_v1.05.zip
Download the Pete Motorola Tools, this now has an option to unroot, as well as root again if you need it
NOTE: Do not use "restore /system/app" It is *only* for the Droid 3.
NOTE #2: This does not restore renamed/deleted apps. If you want to return it to complete stock, re-add or re-rename the app you deleted or renamed before unrooting.
Again, we still have no SBF, so all returning to stock methods will have to be manual for now.
Excellent thanks for this
is this a temporary make shift unroot method? or a fully functional....as if we had an SBF file type unrooting.
It's makeshift in the fact that it's not a complete system restore, as explained above. For that, we'll need a full SBF.
So in other words, the Verizon warranty is still void. I feel like this is the main reason why people un-root.

If you haven't *deleted* anything, or if you un-freeze everything *before* you un-root, then it will bring your phone to complete stock. What this doesn't do is restore your system if you've deleted or frozen apps. All of these precautions must be taken *before* un-rooting.
Once that's taken care of, un-rooting will bring your phone back to how it was before it was rooted and hence, your warranty will be back in tact (for all the Verizon reps know, technically your warranty is still void)
Does anyone have a list if stock apps? I know I deleted Kindle, NFL, & Blockbuster. But I cannot remember what else I may have deleted. {{YIKES}}

Let me know if this is correct. If I remove apps, then un root. can I re root, replace apps, then un root again to be back to stock?
Thanks in advance if anyone knows for sure.
Does this work on Windows XP? Pete's Root Tools are listed under Windows 7.
I see this is an old thread. I need to unroot to return to Verizon. I rooted .902 with Motofail and wondering if I could use Pete's to unroot. No apps removed just froze. I need to send this back tomorrow. Thank You

[Q] Recovering nandroid Backup to a Different Touchpad

I am upgrading my 16gb touchpad to a 32gb one.
So is it possible to make a backup on my old 16gb HP Touchpad, and then restore to my new 32gb Touchpad? I dont want to mess anything up, so I wanted to see if anyone had already done this.
thanks in advanced.

I haven't done it, but I would think that if you did a backup of your current TP and transferred the backup file to your new TP, you could restore it. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
it depends what you want to back up...if you are on gingerbread and want to back up your apps and data, then i would recommend using titanium backup....if you want back up whole then you can use nandroid but I wont completely rely on it
if you are on ICS and then you shud start fresh to avoid any issues....
I don't see why it wouldn't work, cwm backups are simply the boot/cache/data/system and .android_secure dir's zipped up, its not like its an image of a hd.
In case anyone else was wondering about this, it DOES work and works just great.

[Q] Upgraded to CM11 - want my Contacts and Messages back

I upgraded my S3 Mini from stock 4.1.2 to CyanogenMod 11. Thinking I was clever, I took a full backup of everything with both Titanium Pro as well as Online Nandroid Backup before flashing CM11.
Only... it looks like I wasn't so clever after all.
If I use Titanium to restore the Contacts Data only then the Contacts application crashes on launch, every time. Some reading suggests that Titanium doesn't always work nicely with system functions, and Contacts is considered a system function. To be fair to Titanium, it warned me before doing the restore that the backup was from a different ROM and might not work.
My contacts weren't synchronised with my Google account so I can't restore from there.
Is there any way to get the Contacts and Messages data restored? Are there third-party programs (for any of Android, Windows, Linux, or OS X, all of which I have available) which can read Titanium backups and export the data in a format that CM11 can use?
You can use this app. I use it on cm11 without any problem at all.
I tried that program, but I can't get it to import from the Titanium backup files. Perhaps I'm missing something in the options, but all I can see there is to transfer data between the phone, the SIM, Google, and Excel.
However, it looks like a useful program for the future, to save me this sort of headache the next time I mess about with phone ROMs; thanks for the suggestion.
Well, I'm getting somewhere, and this is something to keep my occupied on Christmas Day morning while waiting for the rest of the house to wake up...
I went back through Titanium's support documentation again and found something I'd missed earlier: the program has an option to "migrate system data", which is recommended when restoring to a different ROM.
I've got my messages and contact groups back, but I still don't have the individual contacts back. But, progress is progress, and I'll keep plugging away at it.
Worst case scenario, I'll just re-enter them all by hand but I'd rather avoid that if possible.
Reverting back to the pre-rooted stock 4.1.2 firmware from this forum, in the hope that Titanium would happily restore everything without needing the "migrate system data" option didn't work, sadly. The phone got stuck in a boot loop, and reflashing the PARAM file didn't fix it. So, it looks like I'm stuck with CM11. Serves me right for jumping straight in with both feet; no-one else to blame but myself.
However, it looks like the Titanium backup is in SQLite format, so all is not lost. I've managed to dump the data table successfully, so all I need to do now is parse it for importing. But that can wait for another day, as the rest of the house has finally woken up and it's time for breakfast and presents.
Merry Christmas, everyone.
Well, I persevered and finally got the 4.1.2 rooted stock ROM back on the phone without it becoming stuck in a boot loop. Titanium was able to restore my contacts and messages successfully. Now to investigate a more sensible synchronisation/backup tool before messing with a custom ROM again, perhaps Phosimgo mentioned in the first reply.

Seriously!?
I backed up all of my stuff with TitaniumBackUpPro and flashed from 4.1.2. to CM 11 and can't get my contacts restored either.
Your telling me in need to flash back to stock and export my contacts with a different app before flashing CM again?
How is that tool Phosimgo recomended?
I ended up using Super Backup. It worked flawlessly. For the future, my contacts are now backed up to my Google account.

TWRP Restore - no data restore

Hi, looking for some help if someone would be kind enough.
I wanted to try out Cyanogenmod. I made a backup in TWRP. Installed CM and played around for a while. Decided to go back to stock. Went to restore and the restore fails on data. I decided to see if everything else restores, so I unchecked data and everything else went fine. It's only the data that will not restore.
Anyone have any idea why that might be? I'd like to get everything back if possible. I read on another site I might be able to pull the TWRP backup and restore with titanium backup. Gonna look into that.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Returning HTC M8 for replacement (via asurion), need to unroot, un s-off, and re lock

Hey everyone. I have an HTC M8 that has s-off, unlocked using HTCDev. Rooted by using "Sunshine S-off" application. Have also changed roms. I am having issues with the phone charging. I'm pretty sure the charger port is loose because its real touchy and charges very slow. Anyways, I have ordered a replacement / swap via asurion. I need to figure out how to get it back to 100% factory before sending it back. I have TWRP full system backups but only after the phone was rooted / s-off. I suppose I can find a download for the original stock rom somewhere. What is the easiest route for getting this back to stock?
Any advice an help is very appreciated!
-Charles
I wouldn't worry about going back to stock. I've sent at least one device to Asurion that was rooted & S-off and there were no issues. If you must, you can follow the guide linked below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-htc-one-m8/general/tools-to-ota-sprint-m8-t2826343
If your charging port is bad you may not be able to run some of the command to return to S-on and lock your boot loader back.
Thank you Magnum! My next question is, If I do a nandroid backup in TWRP, can I simply restore that backup to the new phone or must I start from scratch?

To be safe you can do a backup of data only and restore it on your new phone once you get it set up. When I updated to the M8 from the HTC EVO 4G LTE, I made a backup with Titanium Backup of all my user apps on my SD card, took the SD card and installed it in the M8 and, once rooted again, I installed the Titanium Backup app and restored all my user apps on the new phone with no issues.
