S-Offed XL->Developpers please!!

I have a Ship S-OFFed XL, and I want to help you and interested Devs to solve the problem to S-Off your XL.
It will be not sure, if we have the Chance to manage that, but its only a test....
Let us try....

Please, don't. Devs are not around here at the moment doesn't mean they are uninterested. They are people like us, they have their lives too and not to mention they have to maintain development for other devices as well. Why don't you try to contact devs for XL like capy directly?

not much can be done by devs without device and also need know how. id say contact the Alpha-Rev devs as they seem to be the main contributors where s-off is concerned. they have a website in sensation s-off thread. they would be your best bet. this is a good thing but ahead of what is currently possible in here. also right now s-off is not off that much importance as we can do quite alot with s-on and unlocked bootloader. s-off will be needed for super cid, radios, bootsplash and anime etc. be patient

Hey, guys! I have just bought Xl and I wanna know when do we gonna have s-off. Is there a Dev who is working on it, or not.
I see that bepe was here, and he is a big deal in HD2 world.

Not needed right now as with unlocked bootloader can achieve all we need to right now. Would be nice but for now all is good in here

and me being curious and a coward have a few questions:
my phone : bootloader unlocked, stock rom ics rru /stock kernel, rooted, cwx recovery and S-ON.
1) Can it be flashed on the htc vivid safely?
2) Can it be flashed on a S-ON device?
3) Can it be unflashed ?. just incase..
4) any one else here using it ?
5) Do u even recommend it?

I'll try it out. Should work tho its confirmed working on a few HTC already. The ROMS on here probably already have some of the tweaks

Thanks for the quick reply, yeah I saw where it confirmed for a few HTC phones, but no mention of S-off or not it's required...etc we know HTC is difficult....

Always remember to make a current Nandroid backup before you do it, then you can try almost anything!

Yea I don't think it matters about s-off. Only matters when trying to flash kernels or splash screens

now if only i knew what tweaks to enable to improve the vivid...
its not like a htc specific too .. its abroad 'all android' tool.. so i'm sure some wont help infact may even be negative to my vivid...

I would just worry a bit about the PmR settings clashing with cooked-in settings in the ROM. I'm downloading it now and will play with it.

btw which version do i download ?

so I installed version 2

installed fine, no problems...
phone still in one unbricked piece
oly thing is that i dont see or feel any different except that when when starting/optimizing android in now see 76 apps , a huge increase from the 33 before pimping..
i selected the awesome beats and sony walkman and Staysmart EX to be installed.. but I cant find them any where on the phone...
oh well

update I restarted the phone and ..
optimizing 33 applicatons...
from 76 to 33...
I dont see any of the above mentioned additions anywhere on the phone...

using a dedoxed rom now going to try it again using the .apk from play store

After ICS update cant connect to mobile network

Hello
im planing to buy Incredible S that is currently broken.
The guy said to me that after ICS update he scan for available networks, and phone sees networks but phone don't wont to connect to network.
Phone is SIM unlocked and he tried with two different operators.
I can get it really cheap but im afraid is there possibility that motherboard is broken.
Im good with flashing and i hope that it is only problem with radio or corrupted update.
Did someone had similar problem after ICS update?
Please gimme some advice

That is not the stock ICS update. If that's an Incredible S, its running a custom ROM based on a VilleC2/One S ruu or dump (from the build number). That might be the issue, tell him to flash a stock based ROM like Android Revolution HD or Blackout ICS and see if it works
Also, could you get a screenshot of the info under "more" please? That could help

Definitely a custom Chinese dodgy Rom and kernel
You'd have to flash a known working ROM like I mentioned above to see if it's just a kernel or Rom issue
Keep in mind that you can't run an RUU with s off

got new info from seller, he admit that he is using custom ROM.
he told me that after ICS update he tried to flash ROMs and then it all started with connection problems.
He is S-OFF, rooted, got black rose boot loader.
i will buy this phone and try to make S-ON so i can run RUU and hope for the best.
i must read a little bit but is it possible to get completely to STOCK after black rose and S-OFF?

From what I hv understood I think you can flash the latest radio and choose a good jb ROM and it should work. The devs are really good here and thr are some really good ROMs to choose from. Good luck...

i hope too it will all go well, maybe is better to try with radio first, all the time im suspicious that radio is the problem.
only thing that is weird is that WiFi is working excellent and cant connect to cell service.

sorry got it to boot now by deleting hcheck in /system/bin
Only bug i found so far is when beats is turned on n headphones plugged in music player wont play songs... turn beats off and play songs then turn on beats and it works... so some kind of glitches in this.... rest all works good....

Been waiting for sense 5 forever q.q then this comes out right after I sell my htc first lol.

Yeah I found that out through trial and error lol. To install the ROM though, do you need S-OFF or can it stay S-ON? If it needs S-OFF, can you point me to a forum about getting S-OFF?

Oh, and can someone please post a different download link of the ROM? The Chinese server is unbearably slow, so can someone put it up on an American server?

Got it downloaded and installed, its amazing. Only problem is that I got a bootloop when I first loaded it, but that was fixed by clearing the cache, dalvik cache, and something else. Thanks!

For those of you that are going to use this ROM, if you install with S-ON, and then later decide that you want to S-OFF (like me), then you will need to reflash the ROM after you achieve S-OFF, otherwise the ROM freezes at the "Sense 5" startup screen and then begins a bootloop up to that point.

I apologize if the answer's obvious, but how exactly do you achieve S-Off?

I used the rumrunner s-off tool, but I got stuck in the bootloop,so I had to stop it, but I still got s-off.

I'm in the same boat as you were in; mine's stuck in a bootloop; I don't know if I got s-off though. How did you manage to get yours to stop bootlooping?

[Q] battery condition

Hello all
I am using the latest insert coin rom(tried all others too) with the latest elemental x kernel(tried different kernels too) the battery life is always bad. The screenshot shows the regular scenario. If I use screen a lot I get 8-10% per hour. I am using the cpu at 1.5ghz downclocked. Everything is hibernated and appops is preventing anything to keep the phone awake. The last option for me is to format the SD, I can't think of anything else. Or my battery is bad.
Any suggestions appreciated.

I would RUU back to Stock and see if it helps

Thanks. I read around about the ruu stuff but what exactly am I supposed to do, I'm not sure. Is it stripping down a rom and install it? Also do you think formatting the internal SD can do any good?

the RUU must match your phone
fastboot getvar all will give you the information you need to find the correct RUU
