Hi, I wonder if anyone knows how to save an entire theme (preferred with wallpaper)
I've backed up the two settings in the backup options, and copied them to a folder so I can return if I break them. But there's a theme page on the adw ex settings to just choose.
How do I get my completed themes into there?
Cheers!

I've flashed to the latest Phoenix ROM and actually love the default wallpaper. The problem is that I was toying around with ADW Themes and accidentally replaced it. Now I can't seem to find it anywhere in my phone.
It's not in any of the long press / wallpaper folders nor could I find it in app/launcher.apk. It seems silly to reflash the ROM just for the wallpaper plus there's no guarantee that I'll do this again while tinkering.
You can find it in the themes and apps section in the phoenix/ff thread or in the rom zip in the system/framework/drawable-hdpi/default_wallpaper.

Awesome, managed to hunt it down in the framework folder. Is there any particular reason why it's not included in the default wallpaper area? IMO it's the best of the lot.
The default one at first boot is inside the framework-res.apk.
If the dev has included it inside the wallpaper picker then it's inside the Launcher .apk.
wallpaper back to stock
you don't have to download anything if you want revert back to default wallpaper simply put in or apply a live wallpaper then after that press home and go into settings in application and click manage application then click running application then find the live wallpaper app thats running open it and click force stop now you'll be back on your default wallpaper...enjoy
How would I go on about taking the Icon package from MIUI theme, "Glowbusters" to use on ADW Ex? So that all the images would automatically change the actual app icon in the app-drawer? As well as giving apps without a dedicated image to have the same background+icon style as everything else?
I believe this is it: http://www.miui-dev.com/forums/show...Busters-5.0-TEAM-KOMMINATED-FIXED-TO-KICK-ASS
I'm aware it's for MIUI but all the icons are included in a folder within the archive, I was hoping to use it on Froyo+ADW Ex
Load the images into your gallery,
All the icons you want to change should be on one of your homescreens.
hold the icon you want to change until the mini popup menu comes up.
select edit and then press on the stock icon.
go to gallery and you should be able to select new icon.
I'm about 3 sheets to the wind right now so I really hope that is understandable
Yeah it's understandable, but what I mean is for the icons to automatically apply to the apps in the appdrawer not the icons on my homescreen. Then having it already applied in the appdrawer, if I were to bring those icons to my homescreen the icon would remain as well.
It sounds theme related where I would have to customize an adw-ex theme package or something
Ah, I see... you'd have to get someone to make an ADW theme as far as I believe. I was only on MIUI for about a day but I could've sworn that the icons changed in the drawer on adw... Are you using MIUI? If you still have the captivate, there is a port of it in the cappy forums
Hi guys. Is there anyway to (easy way please) changing icons in app drawer ? I dont want single (app to app)
Short answer- no.
There are obviously a lot of different launchers with different capabilities such as applying an entire theme that changes (some) of your app drawer icons as well as functions that allow you to change icons one at a time.
I wanted to be able to change the icons in my app drawer to icons of my choosing (not those of someone else's choosing via a theme). So I did a lot of reading and figured out how to create my own theme for both GO launcher and ADW. Certainly not the "easy" way, but then again, its not necessarily "hard" either. Prior to discovering android and xda, I had no computer programming experience at all. Good Luck!!
One of the biggest drawbacks to installing new themes is that my preferred desktop has to be rebuilt each time. It feels like I'm starting at square one.
Is there some easy way to retain the icon & widget layout I'm happy with when applying a new theme?

I am not sure if you are talking about the Homescreen... But regardless of your issue, it may be of some help to the community if you tell us what device you own, what rom you are using, and any other mods/tricks you've used. That would help us help you in the best manner possible. Anyways, are you using a custom launcher? I personally use Apex Launcher PRO, and when I apply themes, nothing happens to the desktop; everything remains in their location.
Does your issue occur with all theme's or just a certain theme? Have you tried applying a different rom? Restarting?
You're right, I should have included that information. I'm using an MZ604, Team EOS Stable Release 2 ROM.
The problem I have is with the home screen layout. I have my icons set up just the way I want them but if I use any other launcher app I have to redo my whole layout. I was wondering if there's a way to keep my custom homescreen icon setup when I change launchers. It would be a real time saver for evaluation purposes, but I suppose the launcher dev wants you to see a specific home screen layout to highlight their design at startup.

I am not sure if you can retain the locations of icons between launchers, only because all of them are different in many ways. However, you can try another launcher and make it the default launcher. Since you are evaluating, only keep a couple icons in custom locations. Then you can try applying different themes and seeing if that resets your homescreens. If it doesn't reset, it should be safe to replicate your original homescreens in the new launcher. For Apex Launcher (and I believe Nova Launcher), there is also an option to back up the layout of your homescreens to the xoom's internal storage.
Hope that helps...
Thanks, yosterwp. Yes, that's very helpful.

Hi, is it possible to save a modified apex launcher theme or the positions and the mapping of the icons?
looking for one as well
or can i save it with an app?
Titanium Backup backups the app and it's data. Just make sure you have your modified icons in the same folder when you restore.

I'd like to think its possible either through TBU or the apex backup that i could save my layout. So far, whenever I change or update my rom, when I restore either the TBU or restore apex from backup, it doesn't place my icons and widgets. It only restores my settings (# of screens, transition effects, etc) but not my icons or widgets. Am I missing something or is that just the way it is?
