So I found these sounds from a Windows Phone 7 system dump. They are now in OGG format and are ready and named to be used as lock and unlock sounds. These sounds fit nicely in with HTC Sense as they sound somewhat like the quietly brilliant jingle. Now these currently are not for the faint of heart, as they will require some quick ADB magic. Enough blabbing, on to the instructions and the download link.
Instructions:
Download both files from the below directory
Make a nandroid or backup the lock.ogg and unlock.ogg files somehow in /system/media/ui/
Run the command "adb remount"
Run two more commands "adb push [lock.ogg] /system/media/ui/" "adb push [unlock.ogg] /system/media/ui/"
Reboot and make sure lock sounds are enabled
Download:
download.cpcookieman.com
(why yes, this is a perfect opportunity to try out my brand new server)
the link to the server is not working please fix. Thank you for your hard work
Root explorer is much more simple.
Link doesn't do anything, and i agree that Root explorer is waaay easier.

anyone know how to make YouTube play in high quality by default ? only one rom does this on its own and that's aloysus . I know when on wifi it will but I'm mostly on 3g. maybe there's on option on YouTube itself to do this ?

The version attached below will play in HQ by default.
Install through adb:
Code:
adb remount
adb push YouTube.apk /system/app
adb reboot
Install through Astro, or similar:
Code:
Place the file on your sdcard
Open Astro
Find YouTube.apk on your sdcard -> Click & Hold it -> Edit -> Move
Go to /system/app directory
Menu -> Edit -> Paste
Reboot your device
Enjoy!

Sweet. Thanks a lot.
getting the hang of using adb, worked like a charm.
thank you!
Glad to help
not sure what I did wrong but I couldn't get this to work. I didn't do ab method cause I rarely have access to a computer. did astro way and it wouldn't allow me to paste on system / app. I used Linda and that allowed me to copy / paste. I rebooted and tried YouTube but got same ole normal quality. I took a a look back at system / app and saw that YouTube apk was indeed there and it was. LOL this seems so simple and really isn't a huge deal but would be really nice for me to get this to work

Go with the ADB method, it'll work. Make sure you push, not install, install will fail with a message to the effect of same version already installed.

installed it last night, it actually makes the YouTube app worth using. where did you get the apk from?
Sent from my Eris using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
If using astro or any other file manager you have to turn on the root settings. Also setup the SU and then mount the system via the app. I use ES File Explorer. Works great, in sure.

I did it with root explorer but when I rebooted the App was missing all together. Not listed in app drawer. I will give adb a shot but my adb drivers are all jacked.
Thanks for the apk.

First and foremost i want to thank esk02k and his friend for the images. All Credit goes to him for the images check out his post on xda called the thc weed leaf (i would post the link to his page but it wont let me says out side links are not allowed by new users but yet its an internal link). I didnt use all of them as there was only 37 images that i had to replace and i couldnt find the file that links to the boot up animation png files to add in the extra files so i used most of them and all i did was make it to the right size and converted them from jpg to png.
I am using the stock rom and my phone is rooted using universal androot version 1.6.2 beta5 (search for 1-click root for N1 to find this it will work on this phone) you have to install super user then you need root explorer found in the market. Now on to how to install this.
1) Install universal androot and the root explorer run universal androot to get your phone rooted you may chose soft root which only lets you temporary root till you reboot (dont worry it will not void your warrenty)
2) Download kyocera zio m6000.zip at the bottom of this post and extract it to a folder on your pc
3) Copy the folder to the root of your sd card
4) Open up root explorer and click on /data/FLEX/bootanimation
5) Copy Startup_Sound_M6000.ogg from the folder you copied to your sd card to the /data/FLEX/bootanimation folder overwriting the one in there
6) Next goto /data/FLEX/bootanimation/assets folder and copy all the png files from the folder you copied to your sd card to the assets folder over writing the ones in there
7) Exit out of root explorer and reboot your phone to see your new boot up screen and enjoy the first mod for this phone. (Note im not sure why the android screen dont show up no more when none of the files that was replaced was the android png files only the cricket png files are replaced)
Well there you have it the very first mod for this phone i hope you all like it as this is my first attempt at making a boot up screen animation im not sure how to make it animate more so please give constructive critisim do not bash it please and please tell esk02k thank you for all the hard work he did with the images all i made was the start up sound and resized the images and converted them to png to work on this phone so in all it only took me bout 7 hours his work was a ton harder and probably took him days maybe weeks. So major props to esk02k
**edit** Wow i started this by making the first mod for the phone and showed you all where to replace the stuff and got the ball rolling and not one thank you. Wow it shows me how much im appreiated here.
Everytime I try to copy the files, it says I do not have enough space. What do I need to get rid of?

Remove some unwanted apps or apps that came on the stock rom that are worthless to you i removed the demo games that the company put on it and that gave me enough free space you need 6.50 mega bytes free to use this i made it as small as i could with out making it look like crap. you can remove some of the apps from /data/app i would recomend to back up the files before u delete them in case u have to put them back.
I have tried to copy the new pngs to the assets folder, but every time. I do, the original files replace the new ones. The closest I got was when I rebooted and I saw the first png of the original cricket boot animation, then it skipped all but the very last one of the new png I attempted to install.
Can anybody help me?

Apparently, the same number of images as the original must be used?
I tried one of my own, using boot screen found elsewhere on XDA that had more images. Didn't work.
Going to play around w/ the images today, reduce the count to the same as the original and see if that's indeed the case.
Or maybe it was the size of the images. I dunno yet.
Doesn't do a thing to my Cricket Zio.

Well, the 2.2 thread appears to refer to the windows downloader, with which I have two problems:
1) I don't run windows but linux, and
2) To do this, it appears I need to get into USB debug mode. I'm stuck in fastboot.
What I think I really need is the stock ROM from the Sanyo Zio. Does somebody here have this?
I can see if I can use adb to pull the 2.2 rom and if I have any luck I will let you know

I'm wondering if ReactOS is far enough along to run the updater. Will have to give it a try, liveCD.
No go. Booted the live CD, couldn't access any of the media devices to access the update tool.
Hmm
but listen, I can't get the phone into USB debug mode, so how can I run the updater? At the moment I'm stuck with fastboot. Normal boot is black screen, no response of any kind, no adb.
Turn the phone off, hold volume up down and power and your phone will bopt into modem download mode. Then update.

Ok so this started out as a small project to make my day to day phone functions easier and quicker but I thought I might share it incase anyone thought my AdbTool was helpful or just nice to have.
Functions so far:
1. Check for device
2. Push or Pull a File
3. Install .apk
4. Reboot
5. Root your Droid X
6. Change bootanimation
7. Push framework (specifically for framework)
8. issue whatever adb command you need to with out the extra typing
9. Set project
10. Error log
11. Clean up folder
There are more functions to come in the future so let me know if you like this script and what you wanna see added. There is no install just unzip and open the .bat file.
This sounds great! Though I'm on Linux machine, so I don't think ill be able to use it :/
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
No sorry, I should have specified. It is a Windows script... Just wait though, because Sunday I will be getting a desktop that is already running linux. If you really want I will take the time to make a script to run for linux?

since all I see is rageagainstthecage in the files
This looks like a really useful program! I might do some work this weekend on it and see if I can get it working for the DROID 2 and port it over to UNIX machines.
If I set it up for unix I will add an SBF option too.
Woa just realized this is a really old thread

Yeah, this thread is quite old (almost a year) and I am sure the program/script needs to be updated to work.

fyi....you spelled Folders wrong in the main menu "Floders"
.
I can make the program for yall. Yall just need something for shell or a gui for windows?
whatever's easier for you, either would be appreciated it
i have adb properly installed by doing adb devices in cmd it shows my dx
but when i use your tool it says it cannot find the path specific
This shouldn't effect your phone or harm it but if you screw it up its not my fault always have a backup.
I figured I do a how to for some new people or those who never thought of this. Anyways....
1. You'll need some kind of root viewer root explorer es file manager etc. (Make sure your system is rewritable)
2. A .wav file is needed so find one you like however if you don't have one or only have a mp3 then use an online converter.
3.Once you have those two go into your root file viewer and find /system then go into the etc file and scroll down until you see a PowerOn.wav if you don't see one then it's fine. However go ahead and delete it and paste your .Wav file sound and rename it to PowerOn.wav Reboot and you should hear your sound playing. I if not your phone sucks ^^ no but then you did something wrong or your kernel may not support it.
UI Sounds
Okay for UI sounds it very similiar except go into the media folder in /system find audio and look in UI folder. For (the touch sound) find TW_Touch.ogg and delete it and paste your .ogg file you'd liked to use I personally just rename the Effect_Tick.ogg to TW_Touch and it sounds like the normal gingerbread touch tone. (Charger Connection Sound) is the Charger_Connection.ogg and the the full battery notification is TW_Battery_caution and lastly the low battery notification is TW_Low_Battery.
Just reboot and the new sounds shall take effect.
Have fun wasting some time customizing your phone.

Yeah seems to be the case for me too but if you flash the stock boot zip ill attach it if possible you can at least have the stock shutoff sound and just have to change your boot up sound again.

Hi everyone,
I'm new to XDA and this is my first thread. I have been using WRE 1.5 on my Sensation XL with great pleasure; even though ROM is amazing the only thing missing for me, was HTC Beats.
I've tried searching XDA forum for a way to install Beats to WRE but to no avail.
Fortunately I managed to do it myself; I pulled out htc.music and htc.beatsnotify apks from ICS + Sense 3.6 and installed them both on my WRE 1.5.
I have attached both apks as a zip file.
Do not try to install them as you do with normal apps as they will not work.
You could use root explorer to add both files in /system/app; don't forget to reboot.
Alternatively you can use adb.
A short tutorial to use adb:
Connect your phone to your pc (make sure debugging mode is on);
Open command prompt and navigate to android-sdk tools folder. (e.i. cd C:/Andoroid-sdk/Tools)
Then type in command prompt:
su
adb remount
adb push com.htc.music.apk /system/app
adb reboot
Do the same for com.htc.HtcBeatsNotify.apk
I tried this method and worked absolutely fine; I have Beats and Beats Notifier on my WRE.
Hope you'll enjoy it.

Adb push commands listed are same as using root explorer and copying apks there. After reboot it should be fine. If you can get apk signed then will install as normal apps do without need for push via Adb or root exp. Drops apks into /system/app then reboot is same as adb push /system/apps.
