[Q] [MODDING] Instal a LED FLASH for the camera - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there ANY possibility to install a LED FLASH on the back of the I9000.
Are there any connections on the mother board that the LED can be soldered on?
I tried looking at the disassembling video but I think a motherboard layout would be useful.
Thanks

No. Not possible.

If you want camera, go get a dedicated camera. No use of hardware modding the phone .

Or you could try using this:

Problem with accelerometer, no fix works

Well, i have just unbricked the phone, everything perfect but the rotation sensor, the magnetic field and acceleration sensors work, and the rotation sensors whenever i start something to use them, are centered, after moving a little it gets to like 40degrees to be the center, and stuck there in one side. I tried wipe, many roms, all spl all radio all recovery, same thing, even stock, don't know how to fix it, i even tried to leave it for some hours without battery, does someone have a solution we can work out?

When you say that you "unbricked" your phone... exactly what do you mean?
How was it bricked?
As far as I know to unbrick your device means you have to take it completely apart and replace the board. If you did that then you probably messed something up somewhere.
Hi!
I don't know if this helps, but there's the possibility to recalibrate the AK8976 sensor using a diagnostic goldcard.
Please search the forum for dreadiag.nbh.
AFAIK there's still a working link to download the file somewhere.
EDIT: Get it here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=512233
You may then use PSAS to create a goldcard (standard micro SD with special signature) for your device.
Put the file dreadiag.nbh at the root of your card and there you go.
If everthing is right in place you should get a diagnostic menu with an entry to re-calibrate sensor.
Maybe this works out for you...

I think sucka refers to the post from our fellow ezterry:

This had been the first attempt to unbrick Dream from bad SPL flashing.

If it's with specific one ROM, then try Wiping (everything) & try again OR flash another ROM ............
If problem remains, open you handset carefully & check the cables down to Motherboard 2 wide black strips (coming from LCD) (check if properly attached) -------- which I hope might not be the problem
Best of luck

If not attached properly, open it & do press that cable a little hard so it get into slot. If problem persist, contact some expert, as I think u can't detach the cable yourself from LCD (you might ruin your Digitizer OR LCD itself)
PS: Don't open your handset if you don't have guide in your hands.......
You say it will only *turn* on... does it STAY on if you snap it back?

for me it doesn't stay on. the screen freezes.
its fully functional when keyboard is open. on portrait mode when keyboard is closed nothing works. i tried wiping and all that. so i guess ill try to open it. i figured its a hardware problem. its just strange because it happened all of a sudden. its not like it dropped or anything.

Fell from 1.5mts height - Camera - Recovery - NOT Working

My Nexus One Fell from a height of approx 1.5 meters.
> Now the charging LED is not glowing.
> When i turn on the Camera, the screen completely goes BLACK for about 1 min and then say NOT RESPONDING
> When i dial/call some number i can hear the voice , but the screen goes blank and i cannot hang up the call.
I wanted to Re-Install my OS, but i am not able to enter the Recovery.
I am using 4EXT Touch, the screen stays at the count of 0 and keeps looping there.
I even updated the newest Recovery using the 4EXT recovery APP. but No use.
These are the problems i so far found.
The mobile fell just a few mins back and i am very concerned :crying:
Please help
Seems like all the TOP portion things are not working.
The Proximity sensor is acting ODD.
Some times it does not Turn off the screen. SOme times it does not turn on the Screen.
Please reply.
How to Flash the ROM without entering the custom Recovery ?
I disassembled the mobile and checked if there are any loose connectors but didnt find any.
Please help me
"Fell from 1.5mts height"
AND IT WORKS?!?!?! No broken screen!?? Miracle!!
Best chance is to get a cracked screen/digitizer one on eBay, should cost around $20 or so, and replace the motherboard + camera.

The mobile was having the Silicon Cover so i think it absorbed some force, but some internal parts might have been effected
I dont have any problem with the TOUCH. It works well.
I found no loose connections in the connectors.
Non working things are :
1. Ear phone socket - Does not detect the headset
2. Camera - shows blank screen for a few secs and force closes
3. Proximity Sensor
4. Charging LED
so far i found these issues.
I cant enter the Custom Recovery (4EXT) too.
Please help me.

Sounds like you've damaged quite a bit of it. It may not be the motherboard that's the only problem, and could mean also replacing screen, etc. Unless you're up to that it could be time to let the Nexus One go..

As of now it started to Switch ON. So it is better than not having it at all.
All the above noted issues are still not working

I'm sure some items aren't absolutely necessary such as the charging led, but the earpiece and the proximity sensor could be more the problem. At least it boots - better that than nothing at all

Take a look on eBay - there are some ear pieces available (at least in the UK) and proximity sensors. Then if you follow a video which you will likely find you can manually replace these parts to see if they are the problem
Had the same problem; it can be the ribbon cable which is either loose, or completely disconnected. The bad news is that you'll have to disassemble pretty much the whole phone. We've actually damaged one the of the cables once while trying to do this, so if you try it, be very careful! There is a page online somewhere that tells you which cable it is exactly, just search the symptoms:
1. Camera doesn't work
2. Charger LED doesn't work
3. Proximity sensor always shows "near", as a result -the screen remains black after making a call
UPDATE:
Found the link with the picture of which cable it is:
code.go ogle.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=15291
It's a long page, so just scroll down
My Nexus one also has the same issues!
I know that it is coz of the flex cable. the other thing that doesn't work is the camera flash (when you try to use it as a flash light)
luckiely for me the ear phone does work! i am able to use the phone (except for the camera and flash light) for pretty much everything
as i always make/answer the calls using the ear phones, i dont have to worry about the proximity sensor not responding during the calls.
My suggestion would be to try and see if your ear phone is detected or not (may be play a song) and then use it to make some calls.

Unfortunately its not working. I thought i can atleast use for media listening/watching but its not detecting the earphone
there are some dedicated ROMs for usage as Media Players so i thought of it, but no use.
Only possibility will be to use the Bluetooth Headset. (I have Plantronics Backbeat 903+ but my ears pain a lot , doesnt fit will )
If some one can confirm that it is related to the FLEX cable then i can dare to buy it
ques
I had same issues as you.
Basically flex cable is loose and it needs to be attached properly. I have gone to service center and they dis-assembled and corrected it.
Proximity sensor ->camera not working. I can confirm the problem (happen twice to my n1)
@OP: I saw your post regarding NexusOne having booting up on Safe Mode: due to getting wet in rain.
How to resolve it. I am facing safe mode boot up issue. ?

RE: Safe Mode...
I've had this before, all I did was to take my N1 completely apart, until the point where I couldn't see anything else to remove lol!
I then left it to air for the next 48 hours, reassembled and it works!
BUT !
I warn you, if you do this, you MUST make a note of where every piece on your phone goes or you'll regret it at the end!

My case was that the water entered the Trackball.
once it dried it was normal again.
DO NOT USE HAIR DRYER

Yes, patience was the key. After some 24 hours it started working. (Trackball got drenched in water).
Thanks.

Continuous application error the camera in I9070

Hello I am looking for help with my Galaxy S Advance I still have a camera application error. They manage to work with sometimes but rarely, I had already different roms and the phone was on and still nothing. Motherboard and the camera itself are efficient because it said service. Now I have a rom "Carbon_Janice_KK-4.4.2_Build8" are any suggestions.

Flash stock JB with Odin and see if it works there. Do factory reset. If that do not work, then probably it is not about software.

Volume button repair

How do you repair the volume buttons on this phone?
Does it require a main board replacement or it can be fixed?
Hi,
The Volume buttons are one part with the Power Button and the vibration motor. The Modul is just connected with the main board over a clip connector. The part cost like 6€ and you can find videos how to replace it.

at least u can try to test via service mode. -> *#*#service#*#* (service via dial pad) if the cam isn't available there, then it's hardware related.
this only works on stock roms.
