How does your battery last with continuous use(apps surfing)? Mine lasts about 2-2.5 hours. Is that about right?
That's horrible xD with continuous use I get like 5 hours if I use it to just send texts and surf the web a little and make a few calls I get 20 hours

Yeah.. i can do quite a bit of gaming, chatting, surfing, downloading and at the very worst i get 5 hours out of it

With continuous surfing, I get about 2.5 hrs from my nook color too. Runs Nightly 35, dalingrin's OC kernel @ 1.1GHz. Been noticing battery life decreasing since nightly 29 or around when madcat released his kernel with the video fix. (not putting the blame on either, just using as a reference point in time)
When I check batt stats, it says the display is 80% of the power consumption. I have brightness down to whatever CM7 default is (about 33% I think) so I dunno what's up with that...
Oh well, it's not like I can remember what stock was like anyhow, so I don't have anything to make me feel bad
About 4 hours of continuous movies.
About 5 hours surfing.
About 6 playing games with wifi off.
Standby is days.
someone explain sod and what we should expect in cm7 vs froyo, please. i'm going to bed.
I charge mine ~every 2 nights.
I use it 2-3 hours a day. Mostly browsing internet/flash.
I got used to using Setting Profiles Lite in stock Eclair, so I gave it a shot here.. I really don't need the wifi on all the time, so I set it up the way I did before, when the screen goes off, so does wifi. Screen on, wifi back on.
Battery is about .8%/hr, CM7 RC4.

Oh, I can assure you my battery doesn't last long on GingerDX. Maybe 7-9 hours before its gone

Battery Life depends on how you use the phone and installed apps.
Mine i use for less than an hour music, less than an hour game, sms message and rare phone calls. Last about 1 to 3 days.
If i play too long then its drains fast. I also noticed that it depends on the kind of game that i am playing. Some games can drain the battery a lot faster than others.
In GingerDx V019 + Stock Kernel, battery drain was quite high. But after going for GDX V020 + Alfs V05, battery life is quite good.
On stock ROM I can sometimes go up to two days...

I only using SMS and phone calling and my baterry could last for 2 days. Maybe X8's battery is bad afterall.

It can last for 2 days with about 250 messages per day and little gaming and net surfing.

I get 1 to 1.5 days battery backup maximum when people get 2 to 3 days backup. Dont know how. Are they use the phone to make calls?
I have got this battery backup on GCR 8.2. Is that bad?
Also I used 30 min music in 70% volume, 20 mins Wifi, 5 mins 3G. Else are in the attached images. I talk a lot (around 2 to 2.5H in a day) but this time I taken the screen shot during Sat and Sun days. So I had a little low Voice usage. Also to be noted that I am overclocked to 710MHz.

Which rom do you use...?
my battery life is exactly 24h ;D a lot of texting, gaming, surfing through net, watching youtube vids! wifi on about 6-8h in a day
About 2 days using rooted stock rom with jit..
Alot of texting.. (ALOT)
Between one and two hours of calls per day (minimum, i make more on average)
15-30 mins wifi browsing
One day if i use wifi for a couple of hours or more, watch youtube videos and let the screen on alot.

I am wondering if anybody has noticed a real battery improvement after updating the official GB ROM? Probably it would be better if you could add some comparison numbers
i have the same question!!! and some people say that batery would be calibrate after some chargers... i haven't seen any improvment yet

My own experience: NovaROM and GB V20N are the same, maximum battery I got for my daily usage are 1 day & ~10 hours. With CM7 I got max ~25 hours.
That's from my point of view, don't know other user experience, because it must have difference app installed and also difference daily usage..
Hi I am on V20B official GB for OB. Now I am getting 2 days Battery life for normal Usages (gprs, 20 calls, 50 sms, 30 Min. browsing).
Pre. in v10d (Froyo) OB is consuming 10-20% battery without any use in night. But Now it is 2-4% for whole night.
Easy trick is to disable WIFI, data and only enable 2G. U can also turn down the brightness of the screen, uninstall unused apps, sometimes reboot the phone when it's plugged to cable, cause to me it seems to clear some apps, that are running in the background and i dont wanna close em manually and screen-time-out time is also an important fact to look at.
Previously i have v10d, it last about 12-15 hours.
I updated to Zeus ROM and i have 18-22 hours now.
I turn on wifi 3-5 hours i think. To browse, check mails, etc. I also have have about 10+ calls and 10-15 SMS a day.
I used CM 7, Temasek Kang, V20N but until now when i´m using Zeus v2.1 i have about 36 hours, because i did battery calibration. It´s helpfull after flashing a new Rom. And of course wifi was turn on about 3 hours + 3g about 1 hour.

I've been experiencing a lot of problems with my battery since I bought my lg o2x. I've tried about everything to reduce battery drainage but nothing is working. I tried using lowest brightness, bought a new battery, never got gps/bluetooth on also there aren't any apps on except system things, but still my battery won't last longer then about 3h active usage and about 6-8h moderate usage. Can someone help me because its getting quite annoying having to recharge two times a day...
I also tried different roms and kernels but that didn't make any difference either. Currently running Django Manouche v1.2 ext 4 OC

I've had the Note through GB, ICS Stunner and now official ICS rom....
Stunner was definitely better for battery than the official ICS rom.
I unplug my phone at 6.30am and put it to charge every night around midnight, with battery usually nagging me to charge it - about 10% or so...
My question is that normal? I use my phone normally, the odd facebook and twitter time, a bit of note taking, internet etc...
is 17/18 hours as good as it's going to get?!
yes 18 hours is good, consider the size of the screen etc and how you use it

I would say yes. WI-Fi on means constant power consumption. Auto Sync on means even more power consumption. Wy do you leave them on? You can synch when you need to and switch Wi-Fi on when it's necessary.

Stunner averages at 16-17 hours, and most people get 17-18 hours if you look at the stunner thread. The best battery life was on stock GB though, 40+ hours for me (light use)
I would think so too with GB...thats what I'm currently running. =)
Measuring total uptime (from charge to charge) doesn't make much sense IMO,
because we all have different usage habits.
Screen on time, however, is a different story.
Anything less than 4 hours of screen on time is bad in my book.
I'm running the german ICS now and after a few tweaks (autokiller) .. i get 2 days of power :d thats with wifi off at work and at Night .. an hour of playing games.. half an hour of voice Calls and some music listening + web browsing. I'm a happy man
@chasmodo: i do listen to music lots with the screen off so screentime is not an absolute measurement of usage either ...

Im using LPY rom and for me thet battery time has actually improved compared to official GB. I keep wifi on 24/7 and 2g mode / powers saving, gps off, so on avarage use of around 8h daily, i get more than 24h in one charge.
Yeah since I've done the flight mode and battery pull my up time is amazing! Been on 9 hours now and lost 30% of charge. Very happy with it..

17 hrs so far and battery at 65%. Auto sync, wifi, gps, BT on. Too lazy to turn that stuff off.
Nothing special just stock ICS.
i can only get 16-20h tops... with texting, some calls, gaming and wifi :/ but i've only made 4 charges to the battery yet, so hope that life time will grow up.

I get more than a day with moderate use. Lots of wifi, FB, a bit of browsing and gaming, some music, a lot of texting and whatsapp, a few calls and just playing around scrolling between homescreens and stuff. Pretty good to me!

I find I get on average 16-20 hrs with good use. It really depends on the screen on time as it sucks up most of the power. White especially uses up the most power on these screens. When I check battery stats I usually average about 3-4 hours of screen on time and most of that is web browsing and checking email. Your mileage may vary if you've got background processes
At idle, I lose about 1% per hour (sometimes less if i disable wifi/data/gps/sync). So theoretically I could get over 4 days in idle. With the display on constantly I would guess it would use 15-20% per hour. If you're playing a cpu intensive 3d game you can probably double that or more!
I found cpuspy really helpful in diagnosing battery issues. I was suffering from the deep sleep problem when I moved to ICS LPY (the sounds off/airplane mode/reboot fixed it). The cpu never went to sleep so was eating up at least 5-8% per hour. It might not sound much but if I forgot to recharge the phone at night I would end up with a dead phone in the morning!

Those are still good numbers but from those pics your posted, where the graph goes up it looks like it was charged partially at least twice. Connecting it to any usb will charge it. The battery hours display only resets when it has been fully charged.

In threads in the Optimus2X development forum I often see posts that praise the battery life using new ROMs or basebands or RILs. The numbers always surprise me and make me jealous. I have read about some guy whose phone loses about 3% battery during the night, or some other guy who still had 75% battery left after 7h of 'normal' usage.
Today, I unplugged my phone from the charger at ten in the morning and 3 hours later, I had 80% battery left, with the phone only resting in my pocket in standby. Now, about 8 hours unplugged from the charger and less than normal use (15 min browsing, one GPS localization, two SMS sent) I am 25% battery.
I have disabled WiFi, decreased display brightness to the lowest value, always disable GPS & bluetooth unless I need it (which is very rare).
I am currently on owain's CM9 build 62, baseband 313 and RIL 218. I have also tried BB 725/RIL 725 (which caused big problems) and BB 420 / RIL 1120. Both did not give me a noticeable longer battery life.
Whats up with my phone or battery? How can I extend my battery life to the numbers said in the beginning?

i would say something is definitely wrong with your phone, rom or kernel. i use my phone even to play, games like dead space and more, and my battery always lasts for 1 day at least, also oc'd to 1.4 ghz.

I had the same prob, But I solved it,
now my phone survives a full day with normal usage.
Receiving/sending mails tweets facebook post G+ browsing the web etc.
try to drain your battery until your phone shuts down by itself
then fully recharge it after that unplug it and start it up again,
I hope it helps it did so for me.
