This app works in a very similar way to DSP manager except this can go much louder!
This application is priced at £1.25 on the Android Market but is (and always will be) available for free on here and on my website.
Android Market Link
It currently includes a Speaker Volume Boost and a Bass Enhancer, with more features planned.
Due to the fact that different mobile companies make different quality speakers, this app with sound very different depending on the phone it's being used on. For example, it sounds pretty bad on the Nexus One because the Nexus has a terrible speaker. It might sound better on other phones, i dunno.
The regular Disclaimer applies (see app discription, or disclaimer in the app).
Enjoy
I'll give this a run with the Droid X on GB and let you know the results.
it says all phones but does it work with lg p500 ?
How About a NC?
Anyone know / tried this on a Nook Color running CM7?
It should work on all phones which are running Gingerbread (2.3)
Does it need Root-Access?
I'll have to test this out. Thanks
Sounds great
Is there any risk of outwearing ones' speaker using this kind of apps?
Maybe there is no instant sign of it, but in time it might just get noticeable..
Does anyone have experience with this?
give it a try later..
Amazing on Inspire 4G!
using this on nscolab with voodoo sound and it works great !!! so much louder however anything above +3 comes out distorted like hell but even +3 is well loud !
HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT

I was hoping this would increase the volume of movies played with Rockplayer through headphones for when I am on the tube, alas it does not, any chance of this being sorted? Nexus s i9023 2.3.4 with latest version of Rockplayer.
How much can you really do with the same hardware?
The best speakers I have had is the Motorola e398.
Stereo speakers and simulated sub.
Truly awesome with VooDoo... love all the little tweaks and effects, really imporoves the sound
Oh yes!
It works for Motorola Defy whit CyanogenMod 7 Beta 6 (Android 2.3.4)

Indeed. Since the Inspire normally has subpar volume, this app fixes the problem and offers more juice than what I needed. Perfect for those important alarms I need to respond too.
Doesn't work on Droid X GB. Would've been nice but oh well.
I'll try it later ^^

It's like ZottD is dead or something, no posts on his webpage about anything for 2 months. I hope he's just working behind the scenes, and hopefully not doing what the rumors are about going back to development on iOS. :/

Good to hear! definitely looking forward to trying an n64 emu... man I imagine it would be hard for touchscreen controls only though for most games. .... maybe not though.

i think n64oid might be dead in the water.....
I am not excited about this. Psx4droid is mediocre and un usable if I don't find an old version and n64 is much more graphically intensive. His iphone psx4all runs much smoother on lesser hardware.
I hope the fpsce team chooses to make and android app.

You think its unplayable? Its perfectly playable when you have the phone running 1ghz or higher...the sound is just distorted sometimes. I think they have a pretty good beta. I want someone to finih it.
That being said, the n64 used too many buttons simultaneously to work good on a phone imo...

I think the older versions are playable actually i do play them some. For the current version in the market every game I have tried to play has had completely broken sound. The most typical problem is the it either slows waay down or hangs completely. With no sound the nostalgia feel is easily cut in half for me so i usually just sigh and say whats the point and do something else.

Hey folks.
So one of the things I love about the latest Gingerbread DSP app is that it has bass boost. The bass ends up being balanced and punchy, and it works ****ing wonderfully when I'm listening to Gojira.
Anyway, I've rolled back to using Laszlo's Froyo ROM, and I've been missing this augmentation. I've tried ripping the .apk file from the COS-DS gingerbread ROM, but the .apk file will not install. I've been trying to find work-arounds, but I'm more of a super-user than a developer. Anyone have any ways of pointing me in the right direction?
Thanks much!
Dammit. Typos in forum titles are quite embarrassing.

I looked into this app once I got the Doubleshot, but it only works within the app. What I like about DSP manager is that it works across all sound-based apps (phone, google talk, music apps etc).

YUS. Totally agree. Their song "Of Blood and Salt" is the most epic of tracks, since good Ol' Devvy and Thordendal are bringing the rawkus as well. Just wish I could listen to it with some deep bass-resonance. Gives the double-kick drums some nice punch.

thanks i read tons of reviews and still cant decide because one has better freq and the other has this remote+mic and i dont know how is it important that the klipsch has freq upto 19k...
For me, buying without hearing, is nonsense Advice: go to store with your phone and try to lesson various hp. Remember - 19k this is maximum freq., most people doesn't hear up to 16k, especially older people. 19k, 108 db - these are only numbers.
There are Android specific s4a coming soon if you can hold out. http://www.klipsch.com/image-S4A-headphones

No they don't. Volume buttons don't work at all, and the remote is iffy, sometimes double click will register and skip to the next song, sometimes not, sometimes it will pause it. Skipping back to previous obviously doesn't work at all. If you want a remote, wait or look elsewhere, these are great sounding headphones, but remote is useless on Android.

The Klipsch S4A are out in the retail channel. Picked up a pair the other day. All is now right with the world again. Using them with comply foam tips. Having more control with the remote is nice. I've used volume a couple times already. Obviously they sound just as great as the others in the S4 line. recommend.
as another member was mention that high freq the one goes up to you wont hear probably( and if you did probably wouldnt sound good either) look and see which one has the lowest freq since that will be the pair with better bass

Hi - have you now had the opportunity to spend more time with the S4A headphones?
Is the remote control fully functional? Klipsch has a disclaimer on their product page that it doesn't work properly with many Samsung Galaxy line phones such as the S2 and the Captivate.
They do not mention the Nexus S though.
I plan on getting a pair with the remote control being a big draw..
Thanks.

A little more reading should help you make up your mind.
In the mean time, CM9, which is what I am running, runs beautifully on TP. Other than the camera and the mike issue you mentioned, everything else works fine. There are a few people with sporadic wifi issues but I am not complaining with my TP's performance.
Nowadays just camera and mic don't work. Wifi can be buggy at times but its been getting better in the latest nightlies, I don't really have issues anymore.
Even with the wifi issue, most people have had success switching their routers not to use high channels, keeping them on 6 and under.
Another thing to note is that the speakers dont work so well if the screen is turned off, having a bit of a garbled sound to them. So dont plan on listening to music on it with the screen off.

Riptide works just fine. Most gameloft games work if you spoof another device in build.prop. Some EA games can be made to work with Chainfire 3D.
I got it delivered yesterday...so far cm9 works great...I had one issue with wifi, but changing the channel to 3 seems to have fixed it...pretty happy so far.
there is also software at google play that will help with the wifi issues. look up wifi fixer, free and does the trick

apart from that i can't think of much else wrong with cm9 android on the touchpad
It is honestly the most stable alpha I have ever used on any device, using it for a month and not a single fc/freeze.
if you can afford a tablet that comes with android, your better off with that

It's perfect. Best Android ROM on any device I've had. No mic and camera, but minor, minor details.
I've just had battery 'issues' with CM9. Not really an issue, but my battery just seems to drain more rapidly than CM7 does. IE: When reading on CM9 with Aldiko for an hour, in airplane mode, it seems to drain about 20%. I guess that's normal?
CM9 works great for me on the touchpad. Only issue I personally had was not being able to hide the status bar for certain games I'd prefer fullscreen, but there are apps out there that can get rid of it.
Overall best android experience for me so far, I've got cm9 running on my Atrix as well, but that's still a bit buggy compared to this!
the magnetometer/compass doesnt work. it worked wonderful in webos, but it gets no love in android.

Sorry to veer off topic, but what do you like better in CM9 on the Atrix, compared to the current stock Gingerbread?
Back on topic, I thought that Alpha 0.6 was pretty good, then I thought Alpha 2 was awesome, and now with a recent nightly build, I think it's damn near perfect. The front camera would be nice at some point, but I don't need it right now.
awesome
I've been using android since the CM7 alpha 1 and playing around with different roms along the way since then.
I recently switched to OAT's light and tasty from the forums (CM9 based) and my TP now works just as well you'd would expect any fancy android tablet to work (without a mic or camera). Since this finally fixed my wifi issues, the tablet is now super smooth and flawless to use. Plus it has faster community updates than even the high end android tablets.
to the dude above me who's getting 2 hours of battery life, that is not normal, I can read books on aldiko for much longer than that, you should try making a backup and installing one of the most up to date releases.
Dear XDA community,
i wish to share with all of you my experience about the Nexus 4 from Google.
Bought it two weeks ago and as far i used it there is lot of issues about that phone i was thinking Android need more time to understand and to finally find stability in an daily use...
First my experience with smartphone mobile :
Iphone 4 for 2 years > galaxy S3 > Note 2 > Nexus 4
Well first why change between a Note 2 to a N4 because of portability and not convenient for sport as i use my phone also as an MP3 and also in the pocket of a suit well look not that good and can disform ur pants or trousers for jeans baggy jogging is ok but not for SUIT! and try to run at gym with a > 5 inch size :cyclops:
I wanted a pure android Google experience so sold the note to get a nexus 4 16GB and some exra money for sure.
First:
The look : i really enjoy it with nice back glass very Cute and screen size is perfect but when u look more closer you can see some square when you change phone position nothing bad but it's a detail. With google case the phone look awesome!
The sound : too low and not crisp i just compared it with some other phones and some mp3 it sound very low and need to put poweramp with using preamp to have a correct sound at gym but distortion make it sound like Crap!
During conversation with audio headphone people have some trouble to hear me and same at my side need to put the sound to the top.
So as i am an audiophile very very sad about that!
Battery life : well another disapointment, can run a day with listening music with the audio boost of poweramp, phone call for work like around 20 phone call a day at minimum, some whatsap like apps surfing the web and playing a little bit games.
It s not an heavy use but need to put in charge very quickly especially if i dont put Juice Defender to cut my 3G data network.
The ecosystem : Well, it's another something i like to focus on, i live in a country ( China ) where google market is just open for free app so you cannot have all the app market to you, plus need to install some other market to get what you want to because google want you to use another country simcard to buy and download the most useful apps >>> that sucks cause sometimes it s full of bugs and virus!
My daily life use : need sometimes some reboot cause call cannot give a sound, for work it's painful.. Some app if you not careful drain your juice as hell like google plus 2 days ago with 45 pourcent of total battery use! Some crash and needed to back up reinstall everything cause get an error msgs every 2 minutes.
So today was really pissed by that phone and i m looking to have something else..
Iphone
Blackberry
Window Phone
Well as it's use for both personal life and work i need to balance but in my side i need Stability, Good sound quality for call and also music, portability i dont need a very big smarphone but like 4inch around..
Well i will be waiting a little bit before make my decision but that phone is not suit my need even if i was so happy to get it here in China but experience tells me that it's not for me.
Thanks and any advies is consider or comments...:crying::crying:
LOL "Windows Phone and blackberry".
Good luck with that. If you were disappionted with your N4, prepared to be REALLY disappointed with those phones, costing ALOT more...
I love my N4, it's the best phone I have ever had. Does everything I need, the battery life is good.
I'm wondering if all your problems aren't related to the dodgy apps that you get in China. Perhaps there is a battery drainer there or some malware.

Just because we prefer android does not mean that he will be disappointed in another OS. Some people do like and prefer other devices and operating systems. I agree I would be suspect of some 3rd party apps in chine though.

What you need is an iphone. It doesn't matter how bad it is, you'll love it because you paid a fortune for it.
a lot of battery issue can arrise from poor wifi / 3g signal. It can eat all battery in 2h if it is really bad. I know it doesn't help as you can't change the phone masts!
The sound is probably dependent on the software. I would be tempted to root and put custom rom, but sadly there is no stable version of cyanogen mod yet. I just have no idea...
but why did you get rid of S3?!
Battery life is awesome on the n4. Root it n flash harsh Franco or matrix kernel.. I get about 4-5 hours screen on time.

You don't like roms, you dont like stock, you didnt like the s3 you didnt keep the note 2, So I assume you didnt like it either. Moved on from Iphone 4, so I assume you got sick of the baby hand hold interface.
Get a basic phone and move on. Something that flips open and has really big keys and no display. You don't want a smartphone. :silly:
This is actually very weird. After owning about 5 Android phones in history and guessing that I've experienced all (Have a Galaxy Nexus too), after using the Nexus 4 I was like.. I've been using Ancient Technology. The speed, the stability, the screen.. Everything is perfect for me!
No offense to the OP at all.
Everyone has different views
A
i will give a try until March to see if get better stability and so on ...
Of course there is lot of good things about android but the non-stability bothering me a lot ...
If battery drains and too many crash still got one today well for me no more android
Before that i will still give a shot.
But my eyes is also on new blackberry system and their q10
i just give my experience that s a fact the phone is just kind of a disapointment..
If you have a lot of crash, I think the best bet is to fully return to stock and see if crashing persists. If returning to stock fixes all crash, the next step is to try a custom kernel for a better battery life. Use wifi whenever you can to improve battery life. Personally I try to avoid too many mods, tweaks, and system altering applications to ensure stability. I agree that speaker output volume is somewhat low. Not sure on headphone though as I never tried it.
This dude complaining about effect visible in the light at the back of the phone? lol troll alert. And he is from China, installing Chinese apps (if you know what I mean) probably, causing battery drain.

I was a hardcore blackberry user, last I had BB 9900 then jumped ship to iPhone 4s. Both phones are amazing but have a very restricted Eco system , no apps in case of blackberry and boring iPhone software.
Nexus 4 has the ease of a blackberry's and apps of an iPhone , plus extreme customization abilities.
I've had no issues to date with this phone , iPhone 4s used to crash a lot and blackberry I always had to reboot numerous times a day because third party apps used to cause problems within blackberry's software. No such issues to report for nexus 4 though.
Extremely satisfied
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
I think I will keep it and take a BB 9900 for work issue at lease I think I need just time to get used to it but I hate those troubles will see with updates coming I keep hope with people who get good feeling of it !!!
I am sure its got to do with the apps installed on the phone. I got all my apps from PLay Store and no problems at all. Running Stock.
Android is very much dependent on what you use on your phone. I use very few apps really, I think I have about 60 installed. Only the main ones, and only through the play store. I tend to avoid games as they always have dodgy notifications and background services running which eats battery, and sometimes face book and maps can drain battery, so best to disable these until they're needed.
Best experience I've had with a phone up til now. The volume and sound can be fixed with Beats Audio Installer from the play store. It really is excellent and the only real answer to low volume on Nexus 4.
Call quality and volume through ear piece on Nexus 4 is excellent and very loud and clear!
