Wifi off after reboot - Nook Color General

This has become a minor irritant... when I first installed CM7 my Nook Color was happy to connect to wi-fi directly after rebooting.
At some point in the past week I attempted toggling airplane mode just to see what it would do. The checkbox doesn't stay checked, as it seems to error out of trying to enter that mode. Subsequent to that attempt, every time I reboot, the tablet starts up with wi-fi disabled. I can turn it back on and it works, but after a reboot it's off again.
Has anyone else run into this?

yup, lots of people. This might help http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/18630-wifi-not-working/

Thanks for the link. I tried the solution of forgetting a secured network and then re-adding it. Rebooting now to see if that killed the "ghost airplane mode"...
No it didn't. Wifi is still off post-reboot.
Trying the sqlite instructions to see if that works... YES! Perfect solution.

I was all ready to flash the ROM again when I found the sqlite fix. My first time messing around with editing DB's. Worked for me too! WHEW!

I know this is old but all you need to do is download "Android Assistant" and turn off the Airplane Mode via the settings.

Thank you for the link. The only answer that worked for me.

[Q] Setup problem

I am having a problem connecting to my wifi. I had my nook rooted and worked perfectly, one day when i tried to turn it on and it would not boot out of the load screen. I tried to re-flash so i went into recovery and i wipped it clean with the cache and partition. After reflashing i would go into the screen where you set up the nook for the first time and when i get to the WI-FI connection screen it says trying to find WI-FI but nothing ever comes up. Anyone have ideas or heard of this?
Thanks for the help!
Did you happen to disable your network's SSID?
no its enabled. Any other ideas?

[Q] Weird behavior. No wifi and 30 minute boot.

I'm not gonna BS anyone. I'm clueless!!
I lent my phone to a friend for a few days and he installed one of the ICS roms on it. A few days later I realized that it would no longer keep wifi active. Anytime I'd attempt to turn wifi on it would say error and time out.
I figured no biggie I'll just Odin back. So I Odin'd back to Eclair and still no wifi. Even worse... when I boot the phone it takes exactly 33 minutes to get past the "Galaxy S" screen. It isn't frozen as I can see the S throbbing.
Another symptom of my problems is that the haptic feedback is gone.
In recap, No wifi, no haptic and a loooong boot.
As I said earlier, the problems persist in stock form as well as CM7.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
OK, The weirdness continues. I decided to try roms I've used in the past to see if anything changed. I started off with Andromeda 1.0. The boot time is now back to normal and I've regained haptic feedback.
Unfortunately I still don't have wifi. It'll now allow me to enable wifi and it'll attempt a scan but comes back with "unable to scan networks". I attempted to manually add multiple networks and get the error "unable to save the network" then wifi gets disabled.
I'm at a loss at this point so I'm hopeful someone can come through.

When you Odin'd back to Stock, did you Master Clear too?
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I did do a master clear. Internal SD has been wiped but the problems continue.
The haptic feedback and boot time return to normal when I flashed Andromeda 1.0 but go bad again when I go back to stock.
Just went back to stock and am waiting the 30 minutes for the phone to boot so I can do another master clear. Can't see the second finding any residual files that the first didn't get but you never know I guess.
I just noticed that my Bluetooth isn't working either.
Data and cell work just fine though.
so... latest recap...
Currently running Andromeda3. The phone boots just fine in a nice fast timeframe. Haptic feedback is working fine.
Wifi and Bluetooth are no go's. Just don't get it

Problem with ZV6 OTA

My brothers phone has been on ZV5 until yesterday he asked me to update it to ZV6 which was quite easy I just took the OTA in the system update menu. Everything went fine, rebooted, updated, rebooted. Now here is where things get screwed, after it finishes booting back into android the signal indicator is showing no signal. We wait 10 mins or so and still nothing, tried to update profile and it says it cannot when there is no service. Toggle airplane mode on and off still nothing, pull battery and let it sit, still nothing. This is a unmodified system, never rooted, straight stock. Anyone have any ideas?
I had a similiar issue after updating to ZV6. Not immediately but a couple hours later. Not sure if it was related to his issue or something else. It started working normal again.

It's so very strange, I downloaded LTE Discovery from play store and it says my cell radio is off, so I tried toggling airplane mode and still nothing.
Try connect to wifi and update profile.

Maybe you can use the TOT to factory reset the phone and clear everything out and see if it starts working...
Try re-activating Dial ##72768# Menu->Reset and Commit.
You can try it on WIFI, 3G or LTE.

Bluetooth will not turn on (enable Timeout)

When turning on Bluetooth the toggle slides over for 10 seconds or so (still greyed out) before sliding back to off (the Bluetooth never actually comes on). It started yesterday out of the blue. At the time it started, I was running 6.0.0 (MRA58K) and had been for several weeks without an issue. Reboots don't fix it. Safe mode doesn't fix it. Wipe Bluetooth cache/data doesn't fix it. As part of my attempts to get it working, I upgraded to MRA58N. Then a round of trying all the above stuff all over again. Still no go.
I attached a log of an attempt to enable Bluetooth (trimmed). I waited until 0149 before I hit the toggle to turn it on and the log is from that point on. The point I see the obvious failure is 01:49:18.131 with the error message "Error enabling Bluetooth (enable timeout)" but I can't make enough out from the rest of the log to figure out why it's timing out.
Experiencing same issue on my Nexus 6. Worked fine for several days after upgrading to MRA58K. Then it quit. Same BT toggle symptom you described. Just did the OTA to MRA58N this morning. Tried reboot/safe mode/wiping BT cache and data. Still no workie.
I know none of this is really very helpful to you, but just wanted you to know you aren't the only one with this problem.
I ended up having to do a full wipe and re-install to fix it.
I'm having the same problem for weeks.
I tried for days to straighten it out. Uninstalled apps one by one and rebooted until I'd uninstalled everything, dug through logs, and did everything I could think of and nothing works. The silver lining was that wiping it and re-installing fixed it so it wasn't a problem with the hardware. I don't know if it was a bug or a glitch but I couldn't resolve it without a reinstall. Been over two weeks and I haven't had a problem since.
I had a similar problem, except Bluetooth wouldn't connect nor would it connect to anything. Toggle would act as though it turned off or connected, but 20-30 sec later, it'd go back to on and disconnected. A simple reboot fixed it for me, and this was on Lollipop a few months ago.

Help! Phone has no reception, "turn off airplane mode to make call" Mobile radio off
Hi, so my pixel 4 xl yesterday suddenly had no bars in the signal icon. I thought it was the carrier but after verifying the carrier was working fine. When i tried to make a call it said turn off airplane mode to make call, but id never set it to airplane mode. Tried toggling on and off, didnt work. Looked online and said to check if mobile radio power was on, and its not, tried turning it on, but when i refresh its off. My phone is rooted, im currently on the june security update, running the kirisakura kernel. Mods i have are active edge mod, enable soli, hardware off, magisk hide prop config, riru core and edexposed canary. I had titanium backup and tried to restore all system data, didnt work. I also use the experimental twrp boot.img to make a back up at the end of july, restored that back up, still the same. Currently passing cts and basic integrity. Does anyone know what to do? Would appreciate any help. If any more info needed will happily answer. Thank You.

Try checking in safe boot, if it works. Or Reflash the Device to make it work for sure.
I might not have the answer but my rule of thumb was always when in doubt, return it to stock. If you have a problem then you know it might be hardware related.

FWIW, I'm having the same issue with my Pixel 4XL. A few weeks ago, the radio just seemed to turn off and it won't connect to any carrier. I've tried multiple sims and even activated Google Fi to see if esim would work. No luck. When I try to make a call, it says Radio Off, Turn off Airplane Mode, even though airplane mode isn't on.

had this issue before. had to rma my p4
Just in case you havent tried yet -- if you have a pin on your sim card, make sure that you entered it correctly. There was once or twice where I somehow skipped the sim pin entry and I couldn't get a cell signal

If you are bootloader locked, factory reset from recovery. If that doesn't work, flash a rescue OTA from recovery via ADB. If the problem persists, it is a hardware issue.
If you are unlocked, restore to factory state by flashing a full image, allowing it to wipe/format partitions. If the problem persists, it is a hardware issue.

Will try it as a last resort, but i think it's a hardware related problem. Saw a video on this same problem but for a different mobile. Technician replaced a chip on motherboard and radio power started to remain on bur with no service, then he replaced another chip and viola signals were back. It might be the case here. Will update in a day or two.

So anyone get their cell service back? How did you remedy this?
I've run into this issue multiple times before, simply rebooting the phone seems to fix it each time
