Hello,
Just tried to install back the stockrom, but starting up with no battery and the vol.down button pressed, my pc wouldn't install any driver. Now the 2x is completely dead.
Well, not a smart thing to do, but does anyone know what I might try to get life back in my Optimus 2x?
Thanks in advance.
Isn't it so, that you have to press vol up AND down together?
Yes I did push both, but now nothing works anymore....
You've tried the nvflash procedure?

Well, no procedure as there is no life in my 2x. It's absolutely dead. Seems more like a hardware problem...
nvflash is a windows utility like the android debug bridge (ADB) that will let you access some low-level stuff through windows drivers.
If I'm not mistaken NVFLASH can write directly to the Tegra2 SoC memory banks, so you should be able to recover your phone through that. Google is your friend for the rest.
Short Version: +1 for paul, nvflash should do it
Cheers
Thanks! It has come back to life!

Hello guys!
Sorry for my english... I'm still learnig... So... After I did this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1856090
Another recovery mode version has been installed (touch). after that I did a full wipe because i wouldnt any more dual boot and I installed wiui rom. I did titanium restore backup and other configs and everything was fine. Entered in rom manager and I choose backup rom. Backup was done sucesfully. after that my lg optimus 2x died it couldnt reboot and now it cant boot, the screen is black and blank.I've tried all stuffs I could read on internet but the only thing I could was install apx drivers but when I start "flash.bat" to restore stock rom, the last line in cmd show me "waiting for bootloader to initializer"
is my phone bricked forever??
If there is a solution I would be grateful!!!
Sorry for something that was no clear to you guys!
Is not bricked search for Smartflash or Nvflash.

I've already did that but I'm stocked at "waiting for bootloader to initializer" with nvflash (2x-v10b-1300166062-nvflash) here: http://www.modaco.com/topic/335416-nvflash-setup-instructions-drivers-links-active/
and here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007825
With smartflash i can set .fls and .bin files but the application cant recognize LG O2X. I pull out battery, vol - / + pressed and I plugged to USB.
I've already tried this methods: smartflash, 2x-v10b-1300166062-nvflash (flash.bat), One-Click-G2x-recovery-flasher-04-28-12 (it was at O2X thread in another forum).
Thanks a lot. I have HOPE!!!!
Bricked
For those people who said the LG O2X DO NOT Bricked, Here is my thread! My LG does not turn on even the devil came here now!!! :fingers-crossed: I requested lg warranty today because no one of the methods in internet (nvflash, smartflash, one click recovery e etc etc etc) served for me. So... I cant stand LG anymore... Good bye LG!
Thanks guys for the help and the hope!!
I think u did not do it properly...i had mine in same condition and i was able to recover with smartflash.

Thx for reply! tell me how did u do it at steps? If LG doesnt repair my device I will try fix it by my self!
Thx a lot! In both methods any picture or word or something like upgrade s/w, show on screen of my O2X. I've tried these methods and nothing. My device was connected to the USB with nvflash all night and menssage "waiting for bootloader to initialize" persisted. Nothing happened.
Help me if u can!
I will be greatfull with you my friend.
I'm not a totaly noob! And I read as I can to learning more and more about android OS.
Again, Thanks!
I did what says here: http://android.stackexchange.com/qu...-lg-optimus-2x-p990-back-to-stock-lg-software
I had problems on my pc because of drivers i think and smartflash didnt worked but i managed to do it on other pc.U should be able to do it if u follow the steps but if u get errors with smartflash try reinstalling drivers or with other pc.

Are you going in S/W upgrade mode for NVFlash? Thats wrong. You have to to in APX mode for NVFlash. SW Upgrade mode is for SmartFlash, not applicable here.
Check my current signature to find how to go in APX mode and install APX drivers. Screen is blank(looks like switched off) when you go in APX mode.

how come you can post in dev section with only 3 posts?
look at his date of join.It is hard to believe his no. of posts in that amount of time.
Confirmed working.
Side info: had problems with recovery driver , I needed to reinstall drivers and then when connected to pc I needed to run true all the usb connection options like , charging only , mass storage , tethering ,... this way it started to install all different drivers.
I received ICS update today when connecting to the LG update tool , it said a update was available and warned me to remove external SD while it was going to update to ICS.
Removed the external and started the update , (V30a android 4.0.4 was what I received) , Then I reconnected the phone and it installed PC sync for ICS and blablabla.....
I gotta say it is really smooth.
Anyone could say how long to wait until its save to stop the Nvflash?
Its now over 1-2 hour and seems not to happen anything anymore.
And i did that nvflashing often before. The driver is the same as last time.
No problems in device manager. Its an XP Laptop without any Antivirus or Firewall.
I had the latest rooted nvflash version on my LG P990 before that.
In the CMD window it tells only Nvflash started and the Display shows:
"S/W Upgrade Please wait while upgrading".
Never had that before and i am a bit nervous to kill it
But i think i read somewhere i can do it again also if i stoped it.
---edit---
Ok i stoped and redid it. Also made wipe with cwm.
But this flash isnt working for me.
I get:
"failed executing command 14 NvError 0x120000
command failure: partition download failed"
I tryed to give it an external SD, full wipe and cache wipe. Nothing.
Error stay BUT only with this flash offert here.
I had a backup flash of 20L and that could be flashed without any problem.
I had adroid 2.3.4
1035.21_20110725
kernel 2.6.32.5
===FINAL EDIT===
Going back to official 2.2.2 changed nothing! This "easy way didnt work for my P990
Solution:
Smartflash worked fine!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2028946
Bin+FLS flash
Rooting
As mentioned Solution 1 here didnt work at all. Cant say why.
I tryed really a lot and spent to much time on that topic.
Wasnt as easy as before on 2.x.x...and none of the 3 Solutions worked for me!
But a combination works fine.
The Solution 3 didnt work for me.
"=3= (thanks to joiN85)" didnt work...got a boot loop ((
Solution 2 "=2= (thanks to RobYyY)" worked half...
but i had to use the "Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed-tradotto.zip"
on an external sd and not the SuperSU Root.zip.
Finally a hint that i is very important:
Dont forget to set the correct Date and Time or google will
Display a connection error.
Great work and sooooo fast... I wanne say thank you for everyone
who made it possible. Good work!
Hey there,
Just today I decided to download a new ROM for my LG Optimus 2x. I tried to install the ParanoidAndroid CM10 ROM via the CWM Recovery. (place files on SD card, reboot in recovery, wipe, install) But I accidentaly installed the version for the new bootloader instead of the old bootloader which I still have. So needless to say, that didn't work and I was stuck with a boot loop, the phone didn't get passed the LG animation screen. So I figured out that I needed the older bootloader version. I downloaded it, put it on my SD and tried to boot into CWM Recovery... nothing. It did not catch the Power + Volume-down combination and instead just continues its regular boot-loop with the LG animation.
I had flashed a ROM with nvflash before, so I installed the drivers (I tried this step on 2 PC's mind you) and put the phone in the desired state (battery out, usb cable connected, press volume-up and volume-down for a short while). But to my surprise, my computer did not recognise the phone. It doesn't even see it connected or anything! I did install the LG Mobile drivers beforehand, if that makes any difference, but nothing changed the situation, I couldn't get my PC to recognise my phone in NVFlash mode.
Okay. I'm a though guy so I figured I could still try and use the Smartflash method. So I install the drivers necessary, hook my phone up with the battery removed, hold the volume down-key and I see the "Upgrading software" screen, good! But again my computer did not recognise my phone just a little bit. It doesn't show up in the device manager and neither do I have an option to install additional drivers.
I'm baffled by all this since I did not think one ****-up would brick(?) my phone this bad. Is there any way that I could just get it working again? For now I really don't care what ROM version I have to install, I just want it functional again
Thanks!

LG O2X is 99.99999999% is un brickable.....have you tried the AIOT kit by Sprosk or the Nvflash stuff by Progmaq....
In addition tho this: partitions changed normally with nvflash method.....is it done through CWM?

I did. I tried both the nvflash stuff and the smartflash method. But somehow my computer does not recognise the device while it's plugged in. It doesn't even see that something is plugged in.
I'm sorry but I'm not sure what you mean with the partitions changing through CWM. Could you please elaborate on that?

the old and new bootloader are different in partition layout and the size of partitions....this can be done through only the nvflash method, or kdz method.
look at the AIOT tool kit thread opening post for more information.....
The ROMs which are based on the old boot loaders are not compatible with the new bootloader.....vice versa
-have you tried to change your USB cable?
-tried changing the USB ports?
-using win8, then you need to do it differently.....so check that too
-try using ports directly connected to motherboard....not through any USB hubs
Hope this helps you

Make sure you are pressing and holding both volume keys while you are plugging the USB cable in. Pressing them after plugging the cable in will not put the phone into APX mode.

Did you follow the tutorial? Did you remained calm and gave time for windows recognise your device?
Did you uninstall and re-install the drivers? You're able to reboot in SW mode (vol- pressed while connecting to PC)?
Here you have all files needed:

Delete your old files, download new ones and follow the tutorial.
Remember to remain calm and give time to system recognise and install everything needed.

TNQ...I fix my LG...and know work perfect I put 20A kdz. 4.1.2. and phone work perfect
Same problem here
I have the same problem. I think the stupid thing I did was to install V20a without rooting the phone. Now I cant root it. IS11LG_SystemBackupTest.signed.ap would not run and when I try to recover either with LGflashboot or LG firmware recovery I get the same error message "morning call is empty" (very strange error message). I can go back to v20a but since I am not completely happy with it I would like to resolve it. Is there any chance to fix it? I am not very confident to format bootload or installing custom ROM.
Thanks

You cannot root the phone on V20a using IS11LG_SystemBackupTest.signed.apk, since that file is used for versions V10x. Check out this link for rooting V20a: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2180688

Uninstall all drivers and folders like "LG United Mobile Driver" and "LG USB Modem Driver".
Re-install the drivers:
http://www.4shared.com/file/rPpP2btT/LGUnitedMobileDriver_S4981MAN3.html
http://www.4shared.com/file/ZSMf2x6n/LGUSBModemDriver_Eng_WHQL_Ver_.html
Take out the battery, press "Power Button" (just to discharge all phone components), put the battery back on the phone.
Press "Vol-" and connect to PC. Wait while windows detect the device and search in windows update for possible new drivers.
Windows won't find a thing but will take some time while trying...
After that you should be OK.
Just did similar to my phone and followed the advice in this thread - now sorted. Thanks guys you rock!
if u epic fail to manually force the drivers in just install android jdk open it and update it.

I have the file ".kdz" but nothing yet, because I've put volume + and connect the USB cable to the PC, and nothing.

The unbrick a hard brick would help but I think it doesn't work well with D415 as many people have reported... Your only hope I think is fastboot, but I don't know much about it, just that you will need laf partition and command line. There are a few threads about it if I remember correctly.
