How to change today screen?

can anyone help me i want to change today screen
and i want the change the stuff that is on today screen on my mda

A little bit more info pls.
Go to setting --> Today --> Click the 2nd tab, here you can set the items showed on the Today Screen.

I also want to change my today screen. I know how to remove items, but how to add? I like the Palm 700 today screen. I understand it is proprietary.
How to get the search and 1 touch dialing feature like Palm 700 on VZW?

All I have done is hard then soft reset. Phone works good, but also need to figure out how to make my storage card available in messaging/tools/options/storage. The only option to save attachments is to either main memory, or the extended rom . It doesnt see/show my memory card.. Any help appreciated...

(Just a suggestion but please take the time to do a quick serach here. I know that the posts get quite confusing but you need to spend time looking first.)
As for the storage card I suspect that you need to put it in a reader and format it as that option SHOULD be available. Can you see it with the file explorer?

As far as storage, yes file explorer does see it.
When I check the box to save to save attachments to storage card, it says of course it is locked. (because it is not seeing card.)
If no other idea, I will backup files and programs installed to it, format it, then put them back. I guess a simple copy will work...

Sliding sound (starcraft)

Hello there,
So I was bored today, and since I have nothing better to do, I added 2 new sounds when you open and close the keyboard.
It's from the Tank Siege in the first Starcraft.
Here is the file, I created the reg file based on Wizeman's SNE V2.5 ROM.
ps: if that post is not supposed to be here, my apologizes!

my bad dude! i forgot last night...studying for a test...here ya go!
just copy the to audio files to the windows folder
to import the registry keys u need the one registry editor that is built into the task manager(sorry forgot the name)
else u would need to manually inter the registry keys
KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\SlidingSound\
new key(folder)3
(in 3, three REG_SZ files)
named
value name - default
value data - mario(or what ever u want i to appear as in the menu)
value name - in
value data - 3_in.wav
value name - out

the provided reg editor will not import reg key....but will allow you to manually inter them if u dont have the other registry editor....enjoy!

OK OK OK, I forgot to make it.
Credit goes to the original poster of the files. I just made it in to cab format. Just install and soft reset. Tested and worked fine on my tilt.

I don't find anything under sliding sounds when I install Mario and do a soft reset?

?? .jar files ?? for games??

i have been looking around for some good games on te wing and i found a site that has plenty. i downloaded a few of them, but they are all .jar or .jab files. i understand that these have something to do with java, but how do i get them to run?
any ideas?

.JAR and .JAD files install almost like a CAB file and to get to them you open up the JAVA application in your phone under Programs, usually shown with a big e and says Java

I used to get .jar's there when I had my P900 and Symbian. But they should work on the wing too, if the screen size is the same.

thanks... some games uses 1 3 7 9 and etc... so when i push my my wing i can't see half of the screen on the game... something that sucks about it.

Ah, another ex-symbian user. I used to be a S60 user, though. I had the Nokia 3650. That phone was weird... I still can't believe I used that keyboard... but it was actually pretty well designed. Ugly... but well designed.

Placing Files
where do i place the files after i download them?

I just put mine on a folder that i created on my sd. but after you install them i have no idea where they go, but java finds them. i actually asked for some help on finding the location and moving to sd card, but to no avail.
on another note, how is that open touch v5.3 working out? i cant wait til its released

so were you able to install the games? because i did the same thing you did and when its finds it, it takes me to this screen where it shows a root folder. upon doing so when i press install it says that the file root or something is not located. i'll provide some screenshots later on after work.
open touch v5.3 is working flawlessly for me. you should give it a try. it will take some time to get use to but it's just as fast as one of his lite or micro versions IMO.

yes i have installed games and i have been playing them. most of the games work, about 90%. make sure you are selecting from the 240X320. as far as the local root folder issue goes, just create a folder when prompted. i'll try to use the screen shot software and make a walk-thru for ya.

I will give this a try when I get home. one question, how were you able to place the jar/jad files in the folder that you have created?

In need of some guidence
I downloaded the Jad files onto my desktop computer and placed them in the storage card. Opera/Esmertec Jbed finds the files but it gives me the roots error message ..

The Jad is only the installer. The Jar is the actual game file itself. You need both.

how did you get devil may cry to boot up? isn't it 3D? also are you using your d-pad or keyboard number?

Activesync problems

Tried to search about it but i couldnt find anything usefull.
When i try to copy (i drag n drop to memory card) its not able to copy files that are bigger the ~100MB.
The file im trying to copy is 184,4MB and it stops without any erros after about 75% and then retrys again n again in a endless loop(i think. i have not verifyed the endless part ).
Have anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it??

i'd suggest that u take the card out of the phone, and using and sd card reader copy the stuff directly in ur desktop, and put the sd card back in the phone. it will be waaaaay faster this way, anyway

Is this useful enough for you Copying large files using Activesync to Kaiser SD card issues..
Been there, done that
PS It'd help our cause if you complain to HTC about it. They seem to go by the old 'we'll only fix it when we've received lots of complaints about it' philosophy
PPS Are you aware that there may be a slightly newer HTC ROM available (with a better Radio) for your device (assuming it's HTC branded)?

Its not a HTC or Kaiser problem
Its a ActiveSync problem/bug.

you will see all types of phones.
The copying will be done but it will take ALOT of time before its finnished.
To verify that i installed the WinCE plugin for Total Commander and copyed via it. There i see the progressbar moving as it should, but really slow.
I just copyed the 184,4MB without any problems, it just took 20 minutes.

It's only a cosmetic indication problem, the files will still get through - eventually. The only thing slower is HTCs eagerness to fix the problem.

I'm just referring to the standard latest ROM released by HTC, the manufacturer of the 'generic' (HTC Branded) TyTN II. It's nice and easy to upgrade with it and running one program does it all.

Think of the Kaiser as a little like one of those desktop PCs that comes from a mega-corporate supplier and has a hidden recovery partition on the hard disk drive. It's even easier with the Kaiser though because you dont need to have a recovery CDROM to start the process, you just run the Clear Storage Memory function and it clears things up, back to like new (well at least the latest ROM that was loaded). If you're new here, it's worth reading the wiki - certainly before you do any flashing.

The problem is that Microsoft wont take feedback directly from end users on this but only from their direct customers, the OEMs who make the Pocket PCs so we have to complain to them.

At least we know that its working, sort of...

I have been reading and reading about 3-4 weeks now and im getting there.
I see Windows Mobile as a funny combination of Win95 OSR2 and some NT4.
The OS is as buggy as Win95 and the file structure is almost the same.
Im guessing the filesystem is FAT16 with the same fragmentation problems.
Same idiotical problems, install one thing to get something else stop working.
But at the same time alot of the programs are standalone so im building a program folder on my SDcard so when i do a hardreset i just have to copy the shortcuts to my start-menu and i have about 40 programs ready to be used.

I use Card Export to convert the phone into a card reader. Solved my problems of large file (like movies) transfers.

Stupid question about ringers

Hi guys,
I had my kaiser for about a month but I've never tried to change ringer until now.
Of course I'd like to use an MP3 ringer, but I wasn't able to choose a file from the SD card... I had to copy the file to the ring directory on the phone memory.
I'm sure there is another way to do it, but how??
Ah, well, I've actually used the search button, but it comes out with hundreds of ROM posts and I got lost...

Go to your mp3 file, press and hold a pop up menu will appear with" set as ringtone " as an option.
And your right, this has been covered 1000 times ...........well 1001

Ok I've tried this one too, but the file still get copied to the phone memory.
Anyway to make the phone read the file in the memory card?

No there are certain files related to the day to day operation of the phone that would confuse the phone if they were missing, the ringtone is one of them.
You can store your ringtones on your card, but to use them they must be in the windows folder in your device memory.

i just got the tilt/kaiser also. i tried to copy the song into the windows directory of the phone and i also tried the "set as ringtone" option but it didn't work. any ideas?
