I was downloading the Fable Coin Gold game (trial) but couldn't figure where/how/what/when is happpeing??
There seems to be no progress bar, neither on the phone, nor on Zune...
Any ideas??
If were/are on the 3G data, it doesn't download. Connect to a WiFi and go to the download, tap and hold the app. You'll get an option to retry. Now it'll start the download and install.

I am running KaosFroyo v35.1 and was trying to download the Square app from the market, but it doesn't look like I can download it using Froyo. Does anybody know how I can get it from the market or maybe someone can send me the .apk?

You can't download it on KaosFroyo v35.1? That's weird 'cause I've been using it on my small business eversince version 30 on KaosFroyo. What do you mean with "doesn't look like I can download it using Froyo"? The app can't be downloaded? You can't see it in the Market? Or what?
If you can't see it in the Market, search for the Eris Market Fix. Follow the instructions. Reboot and clear Market data in Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Market > Clear Data
I read somewhere that there was an issue where most people running 2.2 would not be able to download the Square app. I tried looking in the market and it does not show up, even after the market fix.
edit: I did a dalvik wipe and now it shows up on the market thank you!
I'm glad you got it have fun swiping!

I've got it, but it keeps telling me to "Please Swipe Again". Any ideas?

When you plugged the square, did you see a "key" logo poped out?
You should swipe the card fast and straight.
Yes, I saw the key. Still not working.

Same issue here, after a few emails being sent back and forth between Square and I they told me the Eris is not an officially supported device
They did offer some support in saying to plug the device in slowly. Doing this I have been able to get it to work a few times.
Well, that stinks.
Gotta give this a shot! Nothing like saving on fees!

Not true buddy.. it works on my Eris running on KaosFroyo 3.7.
Here's what you do.
1) Plug in your square device
2) Go to advanced task manager or any task killer and make sure you kill any media player that runs automatically when you plug a device into the headphone jack
3) Adjust your volume once... up or down does not matter what level
4) Run Square app
5) Now swipe the card fast and straight. It only works one way.. the metallic strip of your card facing the square device smooth surface (not the surface with the square logo)
Cheers. Let me know if it still doesn't work for you.
Just thought there were some people that wanted to know.
This requires a rooted phone!
Firstly download the Pandora radio apk from a filesharing service or use market-enabler to get access to the American android market and download it from there.
Next, download Orbot from the market. Install it and don't forget to give it root permissions.
Before you press the on button in orbot, go to the app settings and select pandora to run through orbot.
Also check the "transparent proxying" box.
Next, start orbit by pressing the power button on the app to start the service.
Now open Pandora and it should work.
If not, try restarting orbit (kill the task too if it can't start again). Also if it prompts that it isn't available in your country AFTER it has launched, just press the back button and it should work.
For more information/troubleshooting check out the thread:

I did all the steps you told. When I hit the start button, it turns green n says "Connected to Tor network" but I'm unable to use Pandora. Keeps getting stuck on the initial blue opening screen.
When I check using the check option in the Tor's menu, it gives me "Sorry. You are not using Tor." on my browser. I have set my browser to use Tor (I even tried "Tor Everything" option an rebooting my phone).
p.s. I'm using it over a wi-fi. I hope that isn't an issue.
Update: I checked the ip address it shows is the same as the ip address of my laptop, connected to the same wi-fi.. basically means problem lies with Tor than Pandora..
Appreciate any feedback..
Just wanted to add that Tor is working through the mobile network but on wifi it is giving the above mentioned problem..

I read through it a lot. Couldn't get it to work.
I don't find Proxy settings for WiFi in my system as indicated below.
phone's settings > Wireless & networks > Proxy Setting > set IP to 127.0.0.1 and Port 8118.
May be this option is required to get it to work. Can you enter proxy settings for your WIFI as indicated above.
As when I use the same proxy for mobile data then Orbot works. But I don't wanna use Pandora over my mobile data packet.
Update:
Okay I installed gaeProxy and I can get connected to Tor network now (checked with my browser) but still not able to open Pandora. Maybe I'm not in US proxy with Tor.
I really love Pandora!! But here in Brazil i can't listen anymore... :crying:
Try using Hola Accelerator & Unblocker from the Play Store. You can turn off the acceleration feature. Works fine for me.

Has anyone else tried installing this game from GetJar?
http://bit.ly/jGI6uo
The above link prompts you to download the downloadhelper.apk which installs the GetJar app. When trying to open this though, the phone returns to the home screen briefly before going to a black screen and just hanging. Eventually I get a force close option pop-up but it's generally pointless.
I'm running MoDaCo Fr19 beta2 if it matters but anyone else tried it on this device?
Download helper? Screw that, I direct-downloaded cuttherope.apk from GetJar.

Had this problem a few times this morning, using Opera. After 2 or 3 downloads and clearing application data, the "GetJar" app on the phone launched the GetJar mobile site, and everything went ok.

there is an app on MIUI called "Downloads" open it up then in the bottom bar you will see this text "Download using Wi-Fi" just uncheck that option and your problem is gone
Sorted mate, found the option and its working fine now.
Yesterday I bought the htc media link. Everything went ok in setting up the device until I try to use the 3 fingers gesture and then I get a message that says that the media link requires a firmware update but after I press ok I get a message which says that that my media link is up to date. So I'm unable to the media link's features. Someone knows how to fix it?

Try to power off then on your media link and make sure your ONE is already logged on your Wi-Fi network.

I've already tried it...

Try turning OFF your router then reboot your phone, then reboot the media link and try to see if it will connect directly to each other that way.
As a proof check if that doesn't work. Then install bubble media server to your phone and see if bubble can detect the media link as an available device under the devices tab.
