I am using one of pershoot kernels but the audio gain boost is driving me crazy the BT headset is unusable because it's too loud and also the speaker even at the lower volume set.
So I ask if there's another Kernel that have support for Froyo and 720P video recording without that audio gain hack?
Thanks !
Enomther's ROM has one that can be installed through SpareParts.
Cool, I will check it out.
This volume thing is too loud for me.
Check the sticky in the developer forum... There is a list of five our so kernels with links. I have had great luck with Wildmonks no-audio boost kernels.
Awesome! Thanks for the suggestions.
What exactly through difference between pershoots and wildmonks kernel? Other the no audio boost.

Hi Dev's,
Well recently I switched to Incredible S and I am looking for a voodoo sound enabled kernel but I can't find it.
Well I used voodoo sound kernel on my last cell and it was awesome...
So can you guys please port the voodoo sound for Inc S as well or not?
Then don't try to use any phone with Qualcomm SoC, I haven't seen one that has dedicated DAC let alone the Wolfson DAC that Voodoo sound kernel mod required.
[ranting]To add insults to injuries HTC went to Beats for their "expertises" in music reproduction. If only they went with one of Sennheiser, AKG, Bayerdynamic or Ultrasone... Beats is not an audiophile brand.[/ranting]
Some said it worth buying since it has nice effects (like Beats emulator etc), but it generated much sound distortion while using it.. I also have DSPManager (I turned it off when I used Volume+) and it has much clearer sound! So, is it just me, or it really doesn't worth its price?
I like volume+ better since it has the ability to amplify the phone speaker sound (which DSP manager can't do.)
If you're getting distortions, maybe you're putting in too much bass?
I think voodoo sound is much better if you are talking about boosting headset.. and its free if you use kernels which has merged the voodoo control codes. If not, there's the paid plus version but only works for stock kernels.

voodoo plus works with any kernel. the app loads the sound modules it self. you only need to have root.

I have tried voodoo plus on some beta custom kernels before, it won't install the drivers needed to run because of it detects incompatible kernel. Just sharing my experience..
LilProphet:
DSP manager is better than any sound enhancement app I've ever tried, so if you're listening to music through headphones then I'd definitely recommend DSP. It also really depends on what kind of music you listen to, I know for fact that it works wonderfully with house, dubstep, hardstyle and hip-hop. Just the genres that require some nice bass boost
But I never really listened to music through the phone's speakers, so I cannot say whether or not DSP is better than the rest there.
And no, xilv3r, there's a whole bunch of kernels it does not support

i used volume+ on my galaxy nexus which had the worst volume output i have ever seen, worked like a charm though and should work similarly for the note....
I use Vodoo Louder for headphones, although I am disappointed as all hell that upgrading to ICS only gives me up to +3db boost versu the 10.5db boost I had on GB. I asked Supercurio via email, twitter, and xda, and I haven't been given a response...not sure why I support him anymore to be honest.
I now pretty much use Volume+ for BT, unit speaker, and headphones.
