Hello everyone.
I am trying to make my first theme. I Followed the guide here and for the most part, it has worked.
However, when i go into the theme chooser, my theme's preview does not show up at all. it skips from the 2/5 theme (Cyanbread) to the 4/5 theme (System). If i get it just right in the middle, it does say 3/5 and at the bottom my theme but when i apply it it simply says that the theme does not have assets for my screen size. when i force it to apply it works just fine.
Attached are pictures to show my problem on my device. Ill try to upload the source and apk later when im on a proper connection (currently on a tethered 3g connection through my evo.)
Thank you for any help!
I had this happen once. I believe it has to do with the preview.png or something in the manifest. I can look once you are able to upload your apk.

I am using the GalaxyS theme with Vegan 5.1 right now and for the most part I really like it, problem is the status icons are horrible. I tried pulling the green icons out of the GreenV2 theme and using ninjamorph to combine them with the GS theme. (I would just flash the GreenV2 theme, but I can't stand all the other green stuff in it) Anyway, whenever I push the framework back in with NM, I go into a bootloop.
Can anyone with experience with this stuff find it in their hearts to combine these two themes and create a flashable zip? All I want are the status icons and I can provide all the files needed since they don;t seem to be readily available on the forum anymore.

I'm in the process of making a theme but I have come across an issue I just can't seem to resolve. Basically everything goes fine for my theme except the icons. I downloaded another theme and applied it and the icons in my app drawer change. Yet I don't see where these changed took place in the actual apk when I decompile it. The only changed icon is the com_browser_ic_launcher icon and nothing else. Yet this is the icon that is changed in the app drawer which doesn't make sense because I don't see any related changed in any xml files.
I've been following this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964391
I downloaded the templatebread theme and have been changing what I wanted but now I am stuck on the icons. I can change the launcher icons without any hiccups now I just need to find out how to change the actual icon thats in the app drawer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Well obviously its done with xml and its all based on the process names the process names have to be exact. When they are it will work even if you have one error in the process names eclipse will throw an error or should and they wont work... I've never done it but i've read alot about it.
That's what I figured but for some reason after doing a few restarts the icons now appear as they should. I guess that the old icons were cached or something.
Hi all, I have a rooted Hero running Elelinux's 2.3.4 mod. The Theme Chooser doesn't change between the 3 installed themes. I need/want to find out what needs to be done to get it working.
Should I ask that here, in CyanogenMod's forum or Elelinux's? ... No, I will not try 'Yahoo! Answers'...
What does it do when you are in the theme chooser app? Does it show all the installed themes, or just the system theme? If it shows them all, what happens when you choose 'apply' on one of the themes, does it do nothing, or give an error message? If so, what message does it give?
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide
Theme Chooser opens at a theme and says it's (current) whether it is the actual theme or not (which is always 'Elegance'!). When I choose another theme - say, 'System' with the blue lines on dark grey - by pressing 'Apply', a message box with 'Applying... switching to System' and the previous app/home screen reappears. The home screen remains unchanged. If a wallpaper from longpress/Select wallpaper from/any of these options including 'No wallpaper' is present, still no theme is applied. No error messages or notifications. Any system-wide logs that I can inspect for a clue, maybe?
Thanks for responding!
I'd like to have a go at making a theme for my mini running CM9.
I thought I'd get a theme, decompile it, and start modifying it, but every theme I try (even those that are supposed to be LDPI), I get the message: "Sorry, this theme is missing assets for your device's screen size."
As far as I can tell the only theme that has a complete set of assets for the mini is the CM9 system theme. (If anyone could tell me of another, that would also make me deliriously happy.)
I did see a thread that suggested it was inside ThemeManager.apk, but when I tried decompiling that, there were no pngs in it, so I don't think that can be right.
I would really like a complete, mini-compatible theme to use as a template.
Any advice most appreciated.
just tap on "apply anyway" and it will work, it's normal.
Thanks yackovsky, but I'd really like to know what is missing. Perhaps it's just me being obsessive.
I'm now scouring howtos and other references to find out how these things actually work.
do you know achep
he is a rt and his themes also shows the error (cant say why the error is there) so just ignore it
it happens because themer can't put icon for every app, so if you have an app that icon wasn't changed, it will show error (missing assets) simple? oh yeah, it also applies to every other graphic element in theme, not only icons

Default CM9 Theme aren't in ThemeManager.apk, CM9 System theme are in SystemUI, and Framework.
Has anyone encountered an issue with OneUI theming after installing the official release?
I am unable to change my color palette. I had a custom theme installed (non-rooted) and it says I need to load the default theme. When I do so, nothing appears to happen and when I go to the theming section, the screen is blank and I just get the spinning animation.
The rom seems buggy to me
Every reboot dpi shift to wonky wonky large icons and text have to set again
Give it some time about your issue too
Try cleaning app data.

That’s actually the first thing I tried with the themes app no dice. Also, everytime I go check for themes on the Galaxy Store, I get an error message.
Something‘s off with this ROM. I guess I’ll wait. It’s not quite what I was expecting.
I have kind of a similar issue. I am able to change the color palette in settings > wallpaper and style.
However when creating my own theme in Theme Park, when I pick red for my main color and style, the Theme Park app crashes...
Your browser is not able to display this video.
Update: just went into ADB and re-installed the theme service, etc. Worked like a charm. All good now! Thanks everyone for weighing in.
