Battey alarm app that actually works? - LG Optimus 2x

Battey alarm app that actually works. Anyone know of one?
I've tried battery indicator pro but when I set the alarm for 30% it doesn't sound the alarm. It does work when the battery is fully charged though.

If you are after something to alert you when the battery is getting low, try DroidEssentials. It worked fine on my old Hero and seems to work find on my o2x, though I haven't had it long enough to let the battery get that low much..

Battery use mobile standby

Hi,
I have a question about mobile standby. The last few days i noticed batterydrain and tried to find the problem. Standby uses about 48% of the battery ( 1 hour 10% battery from which 48% is standby) This isnt normal i hope. My HTC Hero has about 2-3% the phone isnt rooted because i wanted to make sure there are no hardware failures.
I already tried a hardreset 2 days ago and the problem isnt gone
Is there anything else i can try except calling LG and using VIP warrenty?
i have the 10a version with 20110223 baseband

Yeah, i have the same problem. I've upgraded the band version, but I still have this massive radio drain. I hope some techsavvy people sees this.

Sometimes when you install or tun a program it stays in the active processes and it eats battery out. Go to sett/apps/running apps and manually kill what you think it shouldnt be running. Dont kill google services, system apps or keyboard!

It took me 4 days to figure this out. As a former Nokia user, I thought "Use wireless networks" under "Location & security settings" meant A-GPS, but no, it means the phone will triangulate between cell towers to get your location (and is actually pretty good in it). But the downside is that it drains your battery very quickly. I think my battery life at least doubled, or maybe even tripled after disabling this setting.
Could be auto-sync too, if you have it enabled.
Funny thing is, that the original LG weather widget eats even more battery (through Google Maps) than "Use wireless networks", nice work LG!

Mine's unrooted too, and I can't see anything else under "Battery use" other than cell standby eating huge amounts of juice. Guess it's right, since the phone uses cell radio to get your location, but it sure was tough (for me at least) to figure out why cell standby was so heavy on battery.
I used setcpu with 1 rule :
Screen of :
max 312
min 216
and the result was less than 1% after 1 Hour without 3G ... My Internetflat expired so i'll test it tomorrow with 3G
I dont use location from wifi etc, i used to do so on htc hero and hero lasted 2 days medium use.
just called LG helpdesk netherlands and must say im not impressed. Totally zero knowledge of android and phones, called to times both kind of unsatisfied by the answer. New try tomorrow because i want a proper solution from them. Lucky me and dutch warrenty laws

Hi, my phone was pretty a drainer too, at least 30-40% gone after I wake up.
So what I did was I froze up apps like the F-secure, SmartShare, email...etc, tried extreme setting in juicedefender, and removed the stock weather clock. And wow, after 6 hours of idle, it just used 4% battery.
Hi.
Strange thing to me.
i've just rooted and remove fsecure ect...
the program that run abitually are
Email LG, BW, gosms, alarmdroid, elixir, gmail, scoremobile, phono and FB.
yesterday: at 17.00 the battery was 100%..
i've used the phone normally, and at the 1'00 the battery was 62% about.
This Morning, at the 7.00, the battery was gone. 0%, phone was off...
How use more than 50% of battery in stand by?!
the other night the battery goes down at least 10%...
i don't understand...
Edit will upload screenshots battery use when im home

[Q] Juice Defender

Could some1 tell me if it is adviseable to use this app? Does it make a difference to the battery life?
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA App
I tryed it for a week, but couldn't realy se that it made a difference to the battery consumption.
The best thing - and i know it may sound a bit silly - was actually to "paly" with the features and controls.
But was it worth to pay for, i would have to say no.
wrong, if you're using the preset..yes it will make slight difference...
i used the advanced mode, and customized/configured it to my behaviour of using my phone
my phone will goes into super sleep mode at night - flight mode
combined with setCPU on non peak time (12AM-8AM) - 200mhz
my battery can last for 1 week without charging...
if it not doing its job, then you're using it wrong...
its like how you use your computer...does it improve your productivity?if you're using it wrong, then most likely it will not improve your productivity.
its just a tool, its how you used it that matters.
I did use the advanced mode and tryed several settings, but i didn't make much diffrence.
Perhaps my user habits just don't fit to the app ;-)
I guess ill have to try it myself ^_^

I have used JD for over 2 months now and it has definitely helped preserve juice when the phone is idle. As much as 1.7 times in daytime on working days. It basically saves me the headache of closing or killing any data hungry applications/Widgets by shutting down all data after I lock the phone.
However if you are using the phone all the time which I end up doing on weekends, then it will not be of much use. It increases juice by just 1.2 times which is meaningless.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA App
Does anyone know how to make it turn on to refresh widgets?
You can set up a schedule where, for example, it will turn on data for 60 seconds every 15 minutes to allow Widgets etc to sync or update. Also learns where your wifi networks are and turns wifi on/off based on location. Works very well once it learns your networks.
I use the latest beta which also allows you to customize the automatic brightness setting so that it actually does what it's supposed to.
Well worth the money I think.

My experience after one week using it:
Preserves battery by factor 1.4 to 1.7.
So I think it is working and worth the money if you need the extra battery life.
As I'm charging it every night or if I have enough power left the next morning at work I have disabled it as long as my next outdoor trip will start. THEN I will really need the extra power.
BR
Sven
It does cause a lot of slowdown sometimes and often doesn't autorun but it is increasing my battery life a lot.
Factor 2.2 for me. Super app.
so that 2.2 for you how many hours usage on a single charge do you get?
Android Revolution HD dosen't need this app
It works good on motorola bravo. :-D
I didn't notice a huge difference...
Using cm7 I've found I get a great battery life.
I also use llama which can set profiles based on location which saves...like turning data off when at work etc

More juice you save = You limit your phone functionality/experience more
I got a car phone charger to solve my battery life issue
mixed reviews from this app was really wondering if this really works..
I agree that it limits your experience if you use it. Part of the fun of having a smartphone is getting updates. If all you care about is text messages, then you'll be fine with this app. If you are getting push updates you'll most likely encounter problems.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using Tapatalk
I tried it for 1 month, didn't find it feasible enough, plus it slows down everytime I turn on my phone (when it establishes wifi/3G connection).
I didn't find a huge difference when I used it on ARHD 1.1.1
To each his own I suppose.

Damn fully charged notification beep/vibrate

Looks like Samsung still doing the damn fully charged notification thing, phone was set to silent and vibrations set to only when not in silent mode, but the charged notification still by passes that setting and vibrates and wakes me up!
What idiot at Samsung came up with the fully charged notification app! And how can we disable without a custom rom?

I don't know man "a bit" is no accurate thing but I thing I have almost the same battery usage... I do a lots of txts...
now, for the overcharging... as far as I know all [or almost all] new electronic stuff that needs to recharge has a sensor for voltage and power, so when the batt is low or empty it tell you is the same when is fully charge it tells you and "cuts" the power supply... if you have some time look at your phone when is charging, when at 100% it tells you and "cuts" power, a few mins later it will be at 99% and inmidiatly starts charging again
6 hours sleeping it only drain about 2% from 37-35 yesterday
No special app used in my black right now, cause i'm waiting for the new updates
But to answer the title, it's Juice defender
It saves me a lot when i forget to turn off the conn

I use JuiceBattery ultimate in order to save my battery, and still every night with no opened apps, about 12% drain. Is it normal?
Is it possible that Juicedefender does the opposite - draining the battery?

I honestly don't know how are you manage to get such low power consumption on your phones. Just today I unplugged my phone little more than 5 hours ago. I did absolutely nothing with it, it just lied on a table and I'm already down from 100 to 84%. Just to be clear, for those 5 hours wifi, gps and 3G was off all the time. I'm on stock Froyo 10e, some of the LG bloatware removed and replaced with so called energy efficient apps from the market (3g watchdog, battery monitor widget). The only two original LG widgets that I use are weather & clock (with manual updated weather) and contacts. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong but my phone with really minimal usage can't last more than 1 day .

I had probs with battery monitor, it drain batt like crazy so I uninstalled it and prob is gone... some of those apps kill more than what they save
the only apps I have is juiceplotter to monitor battery, cpuspy and android booster which I found very usefull cause it turn off everything: wifi, 3g, bluetooth, apps not in use; all in 1 click and as far as I know it really doesn't drain any battery or it's so minimal that it's not displayed

Apparently cos our stock charger is only 4.8v and our batteries are 5v/1500mah so if we use a 5v charger somehow it helps with better charging and battery life, I'm using a bbm charger which is 5v

well i root my phone then removed the system applications using -system app remover.
im getting a much better battery backup . at least 30-40 % better . as far as the stand by is concerned .
i play a lot of games and text a lot so phone does not last over 1.5 day now ,
earlier it was one day only.
so im relatively happy with this phone because the battery backup is better now.
hope a software update to gb will help even more
do you guys have a battery percent number of 99%?
my phone ALLWAYS skips the 99.. it goes from 100 to 98 in 10 min after doing nothing..
(it's in the nova rom, its with official stock and it's with cyano.. and batt stats are renewed enough..)
PS: not to mention how poor my phone is daily.. chargng in the night.. at the end of the day 20% (too little to have all day at school, too much to power it up at night.. )

Ah ok! I use 5v charger since i bought the OB. I charged it only 2 or 3 times with original charger and the battery life was a little lower than 5v charging
I reboot mine every morning. It seems to make some sort of background task started by alarm or something.
A normal day at work leaves me with 80% left.
If i don't reboot it will eat up the juice in just 5 hours.
Also juice defender helps quite a bit.

K this has been helping me with my battery alot
1) install a new rom
2) using 5v charger
3) installing a firewall and prevent unnecessary stuff from connecting to 3g
4) uninstalling task killers(takes alot to restart the apps you killed)
5) uninstall battery monitoring apps (surprisingly)
6) use stock included lock screen
--------------------------------
Added:
7) uninstall anti virus apps*if you dare* (cos from what I understand Android has a sandbox type thing which traps viruses sorta so unless you go to alot of dodgy sites often you wont need it, imo a firewall is enough)
8) Turn off automatic updating for apps in the market
9) Turn off un-needed snyc features but do not turn off the "Background data" sync and "Auto sync" under the General sync settings or you might face problems going to certain sites, instead turn them off individually via the "manage Accounts" menu (I turn off mail snyc, fb snyc, watsapp snyc, contacts snyc)
Personally this had helped me alot in terms of battery....

Battery issues

So I've been having some massive drain since I've flashed slim bean. I ran battery calibration, that didn't seen to help. So I checked my battery settings and this is what I saw
Sent from my SGH-T679 using xda app-developers app
What I can see is wifi on battery drains from wifi alarm on polls for times. Also Facebook apparently has instant notifications on and avast looks like it is checking on Facebook. That means 2 active apps running on wifi with clock running so system isn't going to sleep. Try limiting Facebook checks and do manual checks for between times that it checks. Smartwifi toggle app is also good as if you leave wifi area wifi shuts down saving battery. Alarm well not much goes on there but will wake device to make sure your alarm is accurate.
As a side note I am down to about 1% drain per hour on slimbean overclocked to 1612
