Need GT Rogers stock Rom - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm looking for galaxy tab stock ROM from Rogers (UXJJ6) please
I want to try to revert to original FW because my tab is stuck at samsung galaxy screen for more than 2 weeks now. All the ROMs i flashed have failed ( for example ROTO JMI, JME or jmk,jj4, jk5 etc) Odin or Heimdall say "pass" but the tab always reboots to the samsung logo and stays there.
Thanks in advance for any help you could provide

Hi Crisvillani,
2 weeks ago I tried the Rogers FW that you posted on march 12. I flashed with heimdall all what was inside by putting each file in their correspondant box. The status bar goes 100% but the tab doesn't reboot.
There is a Pit file that i was not able to use because the box is always greyed out and when I check the repartition, the start button becomes greyed out too.
I was wondering if the ROM is complete or should I flash specific files in some specific order.
Please advice as my tab is still stuck at samsung logo screen.
Thanks in advance

Hey i'm not exactly sure what you have to flash but before you got stuck in a bootloop what firmware were you one and were you converted to ext4?
If so try repartitioning with the .pit file in the folder , then with heimendal flash the factoryfs.rfs and cache.rfs and dont wrry about the rest.
Im pretty sure that should work!

Dude this is the development forum not general discussion or questions forum. This sections is for posting of dev projects, tutorials or reference only.
Use the search function to find what you are looking for.

Crisvillani,
Thanks for the hint. I'll try that out again and see if it works.
TheATHEiST,
Sorry for posting in the wrong section of the forum. I guess I was so desesperate I didn't pay attention.
A+

My guess would be that the ROM you were most recently using has converted your partitions from RFS to another format. Stock ROMs will not work with these other formats.
As such you need to repartition your device. At the moment the start button is greyed out when you select repartition because you have not provided all the necessary files. Once you've put a file in every slot (except recovery) then you will be able to flash. If you're unsure and want to put a file in recovery just select the same file you chose as the kernel/zImage.

same here looking for SC-I800 tar file to flash my tab back .....
Did either of you ever locate a factory image for an SCH-I800? I am looking for one also.
me too having the same problem :'(
is there any way to flash the stock rom?
I found a walkthrough here on XDA that gives a walk thru to download the Stock rooted images of EC02, and the VOODOO zImage for VZW SCH-I800.
Hopefully this may help you guys out.

I just used the process from the external guide to sucessfully reflash to stock and then add Custom recovery to my tab after an "incident" cause me to lose all gapps on the tab.
Let me know how it goes.
Edit: I realize this is in the wrong section but I figured they would recheck their thread for an answer so I posted a possible solution for them here anyway rather than make a new thread in the proper section.
Edit2: I found the same guide on XDA so edited my post to make that the main referral link, here is the external one for sake of file mirroring:

You are wrong here, this is i9000-section.

blue circle help!!

Hi, i flashed my phone with ODIN to I9000JPJG8 and it was just one PDA file. I think i ticked on re-partition and now when piece powers on it shows blue circle instead of my network logo. I then reflashed with partition unticked but now still same problem. Help!!
I found this site http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780509
Should i try out the first option? It says this fix is for those who do not have (correct) .bak files in the /efs/ directory!
I think im coming from phone verison i9000XXJM1 and i know i have flashed many phones with this version and never had a problem.
Well just want to provide better information so i can get help:
Well before flashing my phone version was:
PDA: I9000 XWJM2
PHONE: I9000 XXJM1
CSC: I9000 OXXJM2
I then flashed it to I9000JPJG8. I9000JPJG8 was just a PDA file and i ticked re-partition. Now i see a blue circle. IMEI is fine and tried factory set but without success. I have flashed this verison before without ticking re-partition before and didnt have problems.
For repartitioning you would need a version with a pit file, otherwise the flash will fail, as in your case. You need to get a full package with pit file.

Ok, thanks for at least helping this lost soul. Do you recommend any file for me?
Try finding your rom in general section. There is a sticky thread which contains links to all the roms and pit files.
Hope that helps.
Edit: The second post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723596 contains information on flashing with odin and the differnet pit files. It also links to the stock roms.
Normally clicking repartiton for a new Rom is not required, only if a rom changes the layout of the filesystems on the phone. The information about the new layout is contained in the pit file - you told odin to change the partitions, but did not supply the necessary information.
Good luck!

[Q] How to go back to old version :( i am stuk in P1000XWJMI

Hello everyone,
I have installed the P1000XWJMI version from samfirmware, first it is a cyrillic version, second lots of bugs are this version and it is too slow summary of the update . I tried to go back to my old version JJ7 but it is not working odin don't want to flash back anymore. So i am stuk on this version. can anyone help to go back to the old version ??
Solution to unlock found by chainfire and rotohammer and others ino post "warning do not flash jk jm etc"
It is sticky am7 surprised you haven't seen it

Use this patch.
Then you can install roms with the locked bootloaders by modifying the odin files before you flash. You have to untar the files, remove a few files, them retar the files into the odin file, and flash.

Most stock firmware available at : www.samfirmware.com . You have to keep clicking through the hyperlinks on firmware page ie: smartphone, android , phone ,country ect .as the page only loads with latest firmwares, you also need to give a valid email address and note the password for the chosen firmware.
I have downloaded it, but theres only one TAR file, shouldnt be there more than 1 file? Do I put it in the PDA filed @ odin?
no , you want back to totally stock....download from here : http://www.4shared.com/zip/66QbI9Xi/I9000XXJVU_I9000OXAJVU_OXA.html .you also need 512.pit file as well : http://www.filestube.com/15WlFrmitE0vy0J3LtR01t/ODIN-512-pit.html and check re-partition in odin also.

[Q] Galaxy Note from China (GT-I9228G), change to western ROM?

Hello all,
During my travels in China, I picked up a GT-I9228G galaxy note.
Back in the UK now, and hoping I could change the rom to the english varient of GT-N7000? I am assuming GT-I9228G and GT-N7000 is the same device, just different regional roms(?).
The boot screen is chinese. It has chinese apps on it which I cant remove and no app store amongst other things. Ideally, would like to make the phone all english. Is this possible?
Just a bit of background on me:
I used to own a HTC PDA which I swap roms from developers here and very familair with jail breaking on apple products. Andriod however is new to me. I am a quick learner, so any pointers would be great please guys/gals.

I guess you could... Lots of other people bought their galaxy note from Hong Kong and also from china and they all changed their ROM for a same reason of yours.
Does not the 9220 using a snapdragons and not exynos? I not sure but I thing I have read it somewhere so carefully before flashing.

So, potentially I could just change to the one below?
N7000XXKKA ## 2.3.6 2011 November N7000CPWKK3 United Kingdom (Carphone Warehouse) Download
The box says 1.4 + <insert chinese characters here>
From wiki -A dual-core 1.4Ghz Exynos processor or a 1.5 Ghz Snapdragon S3 processor (AT&T, SK Telecom, KT, LG U+)
So my guess is Exynos. Anyway to double check?
ok, so I have downloaded the above rom and Odin3 v1.83 from sammobile.
I have opened Odin3 and specified the PIT file (Q1_20110914_16GB)
I have also ticket re-partition, auto reboot and F.reset timer.
I have loaded the rom under PDA (N7000XXKKA_N7000CPWKK3_N7000XXKK5_HOME.tar), everything else is unticked.
I have the phone in download mode ready.
I just need to know if the above is ok or am I missing anything before I click START and brick my phone?
Thanks,
Chris.
well I tried anyway.
That didnt work.
Now the phone says "software update fail"
I can still get into download mode, buts thats about it.
tried with and without the PIT file.
Anyone know what I should do now please?
I'd say you'll have to find a rom for that model
maybe http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-I9220&r=2#regiona
You might have bricked your phone by checking repartition in odin. You should not have. Now you probably need to find a pit file for your model.

If you could enter download mode then try these steps
1. Open Odin and flash Pit file only and Re-partition ticked. (do not attach any ROM)
2. After this again flash ROM without pit file and re-partition un-ticked
This should work.

Thanks,
The first part seemed to work ok, so then went onto flashing again without the PIT file. Failed
Back to square one (software update fail message).
Going to try the original ROM, but takes about 6 hours to download from china!.
Ideally, really dont want to use the original ROM though! I'm guessing the original ROM isnt going to work now anyway since ODIN3 has re-partitioned the device(?).

god, you can't flash n7000 roms on the china note, you will surely brick your phone and good luck.

You're wrong. Several have tried and it's working perfectly with n7000 roms on i9220 phones.

I am also doing this on a macbook via Boot camp (windows partion). Maybe it has a problem with that. Will try it on a normal PC too.
Any other suggestions before I head home from work and play later?
Oh, I forgot to mention. I read somewhere (forgot where) that I should root the device prior to changing the ROM. Is that true? If so, I dont think thats something I can do in current state

you can try flashing kernel with CWM in PC Odin, then flash any Custom ROM using CWM Recovery.

CWM is clockworkmod right? Dont I need a rooted phone in order to install it?
Or do I follow something like this? http://whatareandroidphones.net/root-samsung-galaxy-note.html
Yes... CWM recovery doesn't need root.
hello,
Didnt have the time to work out CWM, but was given a link to another rom which had three files for ODIN3 (http://hotfile.com/dl/149302861/1896440/N7000XXLA6_N7000XEULA1_XEU.rar.html).
So, loaded the above and the phone is back in action on a N7000 rom. Wohoo. Just glad it's working again more then anything else lol!
This rom is prerooted apparently too. know idea what I should be able to do now. What does one usually do when they have a rooted device?
