LG 2X stock calendar? - LG Optimus 2x

Do anyone know the apk name of LG stock Calendar? I am trying to install it back into the custom rom. Big Thanks!

anyone mind to ipload the calendar widget apk. thanks a lot

I'm guessing the app must also be installed for the widget to function.

Thanks a lot for the apk. Unfortunately, when I try to install it, I receive the warning message "this is a system application, are you sure ?..." Then, message "Application not installed". What is the procedure to replace the Cyanogenmod calendar with the LG Calendar ?

Copy and paste it to "system/app" i use root explorer to access these folders, this is the folder where all the system apk files are stored. Id reboot after pasting.

Thanks for the explanations. I did the and rebooted the device but Agenda is not working anymore (com.android.calendar is crahsing). Strange.

Calendar non LG phon
Is there a way to install the Calendar onto a non rooted motorola phone!
The LG Calendar is the best calendar on any phone, with the month view & below the calendar it displays the events in a scrollable format, & there is nothing like this on the Market place, Touchcalendar come close but it does not have the events below the calendar.

Does this work on LG O2X with CM7.1?

Stock LG apps can't be installed on cm7.

I also was looking for a calendar for a CM7 and found this one: https://market.android.com/details?id=jp.co.johospace.jorte
Looks OK...

Might want to give this ROM a try?

It is CM-based but contains a lot of ported LG apps.

[Solved] News and Weather Widget (Genie) - Please help.

I've recently moved over from Acer's Liquid E phone to the Samsung Captivate. Nice upgrade, however; the stock app News and Weather is not available on the stock Rogers Rom or the Cognition 4.3 Rom that I have now installed.
I have tried several different apk's, but to no avail. They install, but i get FC's as soon as i try to add the widget to my homescreen.
Does anyone have a solution to to this problem, such as a working apk?
Thanks

You can't install it, you have to place it in the /system/app folder in the new rom (on your phone, replacing the one that doesn't work)
Use root explorer to place it.
Then restart your phone.

Oh so nice! I used Super Manager from the market to move the file from my sd card to the /system/app folder. Super manager was a little quirky to get root permission, but it worked after force closing.
I didn't even have to reboot!
Thanks for your help everyone.
Now I can keep track of each little article about the playoffs -
Boo yaa!
Best news customizable news app that ive found.
Now, how do I mark the thread as solved?
I moved over from the Acer Liquid E as well. While the Captivate is faster, it runs out of RAM faster since the Acer had the full 512mb available to the user and the Captivate only allows about 340mb.
Otherwise the Captivate is an upgrade in every other aspects!

Replacing GMail App for Themed App

Im wondering if anyone has a suggestion. I have a themed GMail app and I when I install it, it works, but when I reboot, its being replaced by the themed GMail app from Synergy Rom Nightly 8-12-11. Should I go into the synergy apps and delete the one there. If so can someone tell me how to get there as well? Thanks in advance.

Make sure you fully uninstall any older gmail.apk's with a good uninstaller program, just deleting them doesn't do it sometimes. Make sure you look in data/app and system/app because some apk's install in either, hope this helps.

Check location of installed Gmail apps.
/system/app
/data/app
Standard one should be installed in /system/app
To all:
For those installing themed Gmail (or any other themed app) The Gamil app is acting exactly as it should. Upon installing another themed Gmail, it will be usable and appear that all is well. Upon reboot it goes back to Dark Horse's or Stock Gmail app?
Well it's not the ROM's or the themes fault at all. If you get a themed app(or in this case) Silver's gmail inverted, you will notice that his name of his apk is "Test_blue_inverted_GM something something. Well when you install this is install as such and the adndroid system will link to that one without a reboot. Thi sis correct and completely normal. Where the problem you perceive as the ROM's or theme's problem is simple. Both the ROM and Theme use the correct naming stucture called Gmail.apk, Silvers does not. So upon reboot the icon links to Gmail as it should, which in effect to you it apears that the old one re-installed itself. It in fact did not.
Solution:
1. Rename Silver's Themed apk to Gmail.apk and it will overwrite the current one.
2. Uninstall gmail first then install Silver's.
Easy cheesy folks.

LG clock app with CM7

I'm missing the stock clock app with stopwatch, alarm etc. The same as on the SGS2 ...
Is it possible to install the stock LGO2X clock app on CM7?
Edit: And will the LG weather app work?
Edit2: And the calendar app?
In other words, I like apps with tabs on the top ...
Bump!
Wut!? nothing yet!? If a kind soul tells me whats the name of the apk and what files are needed I will zip them and upload them.
As said many times in various threads, LG stock widgets can't be installed in cm7, sources are not the same so binaries are not compatible.

I've installed LG sms widget, calendar, clock/weather ...
Can you tell me the procedure, I want the LG stock calender without checking exchange server.
Move the .apk to sys/app and install the widget. As you can see, this is only the widget and not the app. It's the app I want to install also, but I've heard that it's not possible.
Did you by chance get the LG clock app? The calendar and the clock app are the things I liked about the stock rom. And just like you, I just want the app itself, I don't need the widgets!
Try gueste hybrid. He made an awesome work porting most of lg stuff.

Looking for the stock clock / stopwatch / timer
Do any of you have the original .apk for the combined app with 4 tabs in one app to switch between the functions? Mine started crashing everytime I'd run it. I restored all my backed up titanium programs in case I'd accidentally deleted a dependent component, but it still kept crashing.
I'm running a rooted stock 2.3.4 so I really just need the original .apk because I can't find a system or app dump of an optimus 2x with that app, and because all the other system dumps contain an apk that's just an alarm without the tabs for stopwatch and timer.
Thanks,
Mike

But if you really want to suffer my masochist friend, download an stock GB stock LG rom CWM flashable, that means a .zip file, use windows/linux and open it, search system/app or system/vendor and take the file you deleted, now with a file explorer in your sad phone and restore the missing file, apply permissions and reboot... or you can just jump to LG stock ICS :highfive: all-new all-fresh! now with the AIO Tools anyone can do the super easy way.

I would like this also. I found a thread for the Galaxy Nexus where someone was able to port several TW apps to work with AOSP but when I install them they are not formatted for our resolution. Maybe someone will be able to port those from
this thread.

Stock ICS clock is bad, no Stop Watch
There is a stopwatch, but it is pretty poor compared to the Samsung one.
Inside the clock app, where you set the alarm, there is a sort of a title/tab on top-left that says "Alarms". If you click that, you'll be able to go to a stopwatch. Alternatively, you can go there through the menu button. I am on Doc's V4 and haven't tried other ICS roms, so YMMV.
What I don't like about that stopwatch is two things: It does not use a fixed width font, so the numbers keep "shaking". And it does not keep the phone from going to sleep, which pretty much makes it unusable to me.
So, a big +1 to the OP request.
TW clock is ready
Search for Nexus TW Clock ICS. The only problem I have with it - font and buttons are too big. SOmewhere there is a scale - lcd density or something which is wrong.
There is one for Epic 4G - with perfect size and it does everything - World time, timer, stopwatch, but not alarm! Alarm FC'es.
WTF!
Mystery of apktool
I tried combining these two from Epic and Nexus using apktool and baksmali. The code is almost identical - only one class differs and it's Alarm related. The resources are vastly different in picture sizes and xml's with "dip" in Epic vs "pix" in Nexus. So anyway - I copied Nexus class to Epic, and copied Epic resources to Nexus. None of these two after smaling and apktool build (without errors) got recognised in Launcher - no icons in app drawer, no .odex file in dalvik.
Any experts to solve the mystery?
Mystery is solved
New release is coming... Check out my ROM within couple of hours.
Just copied classes.dex from Nexus ICS clock to Epic 4G clock. And optimized it as usual.
I am patiently waiting for that update, but in the meantime just wanted to say "thank you" for the pointer to the epic clock.

Try the ROM or rip the Clockpackage.apk from .zip.
I'm fine either way.
I'm checking Holo Calendar now. First try was disastrous - I had to wipe the data to restore calendar sync.

I pulled the clockpackage.apk from your rom. I copied to the system/app and rebooted. It didn't show up in my app drawer. So I rebooted into recovery and wiped cach partition, dalvik and fixed permissions. It still isn't showing up in my app drawer. Do you have any other suggestions? I'm running ICSSGS latest version.
Edit: Never mind. When I went into All Applications it was disabled. When I enabled it, it is working now.
Smart Alarm Problem
Thank you so much for updating the clock in Nostalgia!
I can't get the smart alarm function to work, though. No matter which smart alarm tone I choose, the "Good Morning" alarm sound plays. Am I missing something, or is there a glitch in the apk?
Thank you!
I installed the app for now, and it works great.
I am thinking about trying out your ROM, though, once 5.3 is out.

When I go to settings/apps/all I do not see it there and so I can't enable it as you did. Am I missing something? What is the app named (maybe I missed it)?

I had a similar problem until I found another thread with a solution. The solution was to add clockpackage.odex to system/app. I can't upload odex files, so it is attached in a .zip.
When you copy apk to /system/app - your permission on apk file get screwed up. Nice touch from FileManager writers. So you gotta fix them from the same Root Explorer or Browser to be 644 - read/write by owner, read by group, read by other.

will it work on cm9 experimental build?
yes it does. im tried on mine. the first boot takes somewhat long. took about 20 mins if i remember right. be warned, dont flash if u dont like touchwiz (latest) or stock samsung apps cos it adds a few of those.
the new weather clock.apk not work for me.... problem loading widget... is it work for you guys?
not working on mine either :-( sorry.
hey there,
i wanted a few samsung apps, but not the launcher as i still want to remain my CM9 launcher. if i straight away flash this, the touchwiz ui will replace the stock ICS launcher?
theres still the option to select the Trebuchet launcher. or u can install another launcher over it like Nova or Apex which looks exactly the same like Trebuchet but with more functions.
I want to flash this for the default Samsung camera app. But if I flash this, will my entire system, ie the settings, menu etc look like Samsung s ics Rom?
i dont think camera will be changed. if u have downloaded the zip, check the system/app folder inside the zip. all the additional apps will be found there.

Actually I can't just copy Samsung camera as it requires some Samsung framework and tw elements. So was asking if after u flash this zip, do u have Samsung camera or does copying stock camera from Samsung ics Rom can work or not.
