Help : 8/16 GB Diamond .. WM7??

1.Does diamond support Windows mobile 7 ?
2.Do U Think htc will release 8/16 GB Diamond?

what a random question. thres no evicence for either, but i doubt the storage upgrade. theyve done that with the advantage a year on, and everyone thinks its a waste of money.
but wm7, if its not officail, id guess the cooks will port it

I wouldn't rule out the storage upgrade. If HTC want the Touch Diamond to compete with the iPhone, they will have to do storage upgrades. Also, because I'm buying it, you know a better version is going to be released - it's my bad luck. (My Touch is a good example).

This may be a silly question but has anyone actually opened up their Diamond to see if it is possible to increase the Storage Memory? eg could it be possible to add/swap out the 4GB for more?

I also have upgraded my ROM, only the signature isn't actualized
Regarding WM7...only with the help of a crystal ball...

If you make a search on this forum (not only in Diamond section), you would see, that I've done a big share of contributions, namely on the Trinity ...
So, next time, instead of bragging, make a search first, and don't feed these non-sense threads...

There is evidence for WM7, just knowing M$, whatever we know now will be completely different from what is released, and it'll be released two years late...
I suspect HTC will release newer versions with more storage, but there is no evidence for that ATM.

isnt the touch pro basically the diamond with upgrades and sd slot for up to 64gb (so far)?
if any wm device is upgradeable, the diamond is a sure fire even if not officially supported

finally a decent response to my question. Now who has taken a look under the hood of their Diamond to see for eaxmple where on the board the 4GB memory chip is and how accessible it is. Is there any space under the cover to connect up another memory card...
The Touch Pro is too big and I don't need a keyboard. The only thing stopping me from getting a Diamond right now is the 4GB memory...

SDHC only supports up to 32gb... they'll come out with a new standard for 64gb chips I bet.

Thats just a phone that some company took a wm6.5 cooked rom and flashed the device.
Thats not an original HTC retail package.
Also the phone isnt brand new since the original film that protects the screen
was replaced.
Why buy this? Just flash a rom from here!
Its the same if i put android on the HD, put it in the original package and sell it as a brand new out of the box Android phone

Ye was surprised as well, but if u listen closely, he mentions a company that flashed it beforehand, so it's still the normal one.

ha ha ha... funny post... the box indeed has WM6.1 written on it... Even the packaging is wrong, that phone has been unboxed earlier. HTC never puts the battery like that, underneath the upper cover.... AND WE ALREADY KNOW THAT TOUCH HD IS NOT GONNA GET WM6.5 UPGRADE OFFICIALLY...

HTC Touch and Android

Hello,
Apologies if I'm in the wrong place (again).. I'm trying to buy a new phone and would love to run an android port on it. I'm currently looking at Sprint - at the HTC Touch Diamond ($199 after rebate etc) or the HTC Touch Pro ($299.. less desirable) the sprint site doesn't mention a querty keypad for the Touch Diamond.. Is it fair to assume the Touch Diamond is not a good candidate for android - or is there a touch screen keyboard now?
I'm really sorry if this post is off topic.. I've been all over the intertubes trying to find a good smartphone that will effectively run an android port (I'm well aware its under heavy development) that will atleast make phone calls (or should be able to soon). If the Touch Diamond won't work - can someone recommend a different phone?

Well seeing as the HTC magic and Hero are both non qwerty it would be safe to assume that there is an on board virtual keyboard.

If you read the last sentence of the first paragraph - you would notice I'm referring specifically to the android port.. I got my phone already, thanks.

This has been discussed before. As of now, there is no winmo 6.5 or android available for HD7.
You can't expect it soon anyway, If there ever will be one.

I really hope someone can dual boot the M8 between the Android and Windows.. That would be great for Windows phone operating system in general. People will get to try them and realize that they aren't that bad at all (as compared to what they used to be).

More than likely, this will happen. Especially if the hardware is exactly the same, I foresee this for the near future.

I would totally be down giving windows a go on this phone. i have never used a windows phone before.

I love Android and Windows Phone. I have found that as Windows machines get smaller (My Dell venue pro 8, for instance), they are making my phone more of a messaging and talking device again. It's funny how this works. I'd love to get in on the WP action.
Unless they announce a WebOS option... we can dream, right?

I would love to see what WebOS would be like on a device like this. My first smartphone was a Palm Pixi, and the interface was wonderful. It got really slow with time, and full data wipes didn't help anymore.
But that's just wishful thinking.

Back on topic, tho. Can anyone weigh in and comment on how likely it is that we'll be able to install the version of Windows Phone that was just released on our Sprint/Android versions?

No, I'm not converting to WM either, even if it was to come to Sprint. However, I have never even seen WM live in person, and I wouldn't mind giving the Rom a flash.

Same here. I wouldn't buy it but if there was a port for Android m8 I would definitely flash the rom

I've suggested to HTC to make a dual boot for their top phone. So that, no matter which you buy, you can switch as you like. I guess it's gonna benefit MS more than HTC，but it could be a nice push for sale of the phone because it's just another unique feature that nobody really bothered to do.
I've used the WP 7 for a long time and like that very well. Since now the M8 takes SD card, the storage space is less a concern, so makes this even more workable.
IMO the best will be dual boot, so that you can choose on bootup, the second will be a flash, which would be harder to change. But either way, it'll be very neat.

I've seen the buzz lately about the m8 Windows version, and when it finally clicked that they both had the same hardware I started digging around to see if I could find info on a possible port.

Maybe someone more experienced than myself could look into the .zip to see what's going on in there or maybe help me find out where it came from - I'm sure this link didn't pop up from nowhere if it is truly legit.

Yeah, I checked it out and downloaded then ran it through an online virus scan, I don't trust it.
The video I posted before had a link to an 800mb file or so
