Optimus 2x no 4g....WTF?

I just read the article
http://www.optimus2x.net/index.php?topic=156.0
If this is true goodbye Optimus 2x and what a waste.
I'm not sure but, if it's 4G, wont be it CDMA ?
4G means LTE. When do you think you'll have an working LTE infrastructure? 3G is more than enough.
This phone is rumored to be on TMO USA which means its GSM and I'm in the DFW area so I can take advantage of 4g converage. To me this is a massage waist of a phone if in fact no 4g
4G will not be big for about. 2-3years. How many countries have full cover over land? Not many got it with 3G even. I am lucky that I live in Sweden. Here we were first with "real" 4G but only about 11 major cities got it. But are expanding fast. But many countries does not even got 4G yet.
Sent from my crap x10! Hello LG Star
I am in SATX and the 4Gish speeds are here to. However, this phone ....
Network Technology: GSM
GSM: EDGE
UMTS: UMTS (WCDMA) HSDPA 10.2
GSM Bands: 850, 900, 1800, 1900
UMTS Bands: 900, 2100
To take advantage doesn't it need to be at least HSDPA+ to really use the 4Gish network?
Won't the very best if your luck be maybe 10mb down on the lg?
Don't get me wrong I am torn because the rest of the specs are so nice.
Acoording to phonefight.net this phone will be 4g compatible when it comes stateside.

[Q] Check 3G frequency/band of Optimus 2x(P990)

Gsmarena shows that there are two versions of P990(not P999 G2X), one with HSDPA 900 / 1900 / 2100 and the other with HSDPA 900 / 1700 / 2100. I have a P990, but the box is missing. I wanted to use the phone on WIND(AWS only) and so wanted to know whether there is anyway of knowing whether the phone supports 1700(AWS) frequency from the phone itself(maybe some dialer code). I know I can do it on my Vibrant by going into the service mode.
There is only one P990, but there is a P990h that supports 850/1900/2100
The only AWS one is the G2X/Wind O2X.

I thought the same initially, but was a bit confused after I saw gsmarena showing the phone supporting 1700 3G band.....does anyone have a P990 with AWS frequncy support..
I read this thread while Googling and made an account to ask a question because now I am really confused.
So if I buy the P990 from Asia, will it work on Wind/Mobilicity? GSMArena says it has the 900/1700/2100 bands (LG site says P990 supports Edge 900/1700/2100, but what is EDGE?) but this thread says that only the G2X/Wind O2x P999 supports AWS? Is there a difference?
I reckon the 900/1700/2100 bit on GSM Arena is a balls up, although it's not their fault. LG UK's website actually states that they are the WCDMA frequencies for it, but on the box is 900/1900/2100.
EDGE is the 2G frequencies, which are 850/900/1800/1900 on the box.
Thanks, did more digging and the info I found is 100% in agreement with you.
So pretty much only the T-Mobile and Wind version of G2x/O2x support AWS will work on Wind and Mobilicity.

[Q] SU660 3G Band frequency?

What are the bands for HSDPA "3G" on the SU660?
I read somewhere that the bands where 900/2100 so that's why I bought it, Orange DO uses the 900Mhz band frequency for 3g connectivity but I only get EDGE with 420 baseband and with latest v30c (1119 I think, the one that comes with stock ICS) I only get G... GPRS...

[Q] HTC One for use in South Korea

Hi looking to purchase the HTC ONE International Version M7 and want to use it in South Korea and wondering if it will work? Either 3g or 4g LTE
Here is the bands for the International Version
Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 (Quadband) WCDMA (UMTS)/HSPA 850/900/1900/2100
And the bands available to be as im on SK Telecom
850mhz lte
1800mhz lte
2100 UMTS/HSPA
I'm guessing that the 1800 and 2100 mhz bands overlap I should probably have both access to 3g and 4g lte?
Thanks so much guys!
850Mhz is SKT's main frequency and 1800Mhz is their secondary frequency which is so-called 'multi-carrier.' Even if that multi-carrier frequency overlaps the HSDPA frequency in One's spec, SK Telecom's HSDPA signal only comes from 2100Mhz band, and you don't have to worry. However, I have to warn you - If you buy 801s model, you can use LTE in those 'multi-carrier' zones that are smaller than its main band area. Even if multi-carrier zone is being expanded, SKT's main band is the only band provided in majority of areas.
