A854 is not in the upgrade list, only A853 and not in all regions (Russia and New Zealand for instance won't get the update).
MILESTONE A854
Will remain on Android 2.1

i haven't seen it on kies, or the samfirmware website.
and it said firmware version 2.1?
yep, 2.1 I will go back to the store in few days and take a picture...
Something related to this?
http://twitter.com/galaxyssupport/status/26631148177
will phones that are unlocked on a different network still get this update?
anyone have an i9000m with this on their phone.. would be nice to know is it pda only or modem, pda and csc changes.. and if we can get a copy off of someones phone.
as for that link above i dont think it relates to us .. it relates to the ji6 release for the vibrant that runs on t mobile
Well, the Bell canada's version is also called "Vibrant", don'know if it is related or not...
http://www.bell.ca/shopping/PrsShpW...PrsShpWls_Content&wlcs_catalog_item_sku=70269
JI6 for the "Vibrant" from T-Mobile got there (If we beleive samfirmware.com) around september. Twit was sent in october (But then again, delay between release and final might take a while!)
yes i realize there is vibrant in canada but if you follow those tweets every one i followed a link or read had to do with the t-mobile vibrant not ours.
Din't quite see that!
Thanks!
Hi:
I bought my Milestone in India around August 2010.
I wanted to know when the 2.2 update will roll out for my device - I checked the Motorola Android Software Upgrade News page but couldn't find a Milestone for India in the list (guessing it's APAC then.. is it?).
Here are my device's details:
Firmware version: 2.1 update1
Firmware configuration version: GAS_EMEA_USASHLS00RTINT_P016
Baseband version: 3GSMEPU91A_U_91.07.56I
Kernel version: 2.6.29-omap1
Build number: SHOLS_U2_02.36.0
How can I find out which region my device belongs to, and how these details decide when the 2.2 build will roll out?
I would also appreciate it if someone could tell me how to find this out from the above details.
Thanks & regards!
Rampee
Check the following link. Will provide you with details.

Regarding OTA upgrade to 2.2, it will release in EU first. You can always update it manually.

you should post it in right place (Motorola Droid and Milestone General)
Thanks Silesh!
Do you suggest waiting for the OTA? What is your opinion on rooting & flashing custom ROMs to bring it to 2.2?
@sharljimhtsin Sorry, my bad

You can safely root and upgrade to a variety of custom 2.2 ROMS available. There are a few of them available like CM6, Cronos, Miui etc. I am running cronos ATM. You can get your stone back to stock anytime. Its very easy.
Though you will not get battery life as in 2.1, you will get a lot of other cool features with 2.2.
Knowing Motorola, we would be lucky if we get the froyo update in during this qtr.

Middle East & Europe supose to get thier updates by Q4 2010>
on Xmas, I read on GSMArena, that Motorola made another delay to Q1 2011.
Meaning by the end of Q4, mostly we'll have Gingerbread with the efforts of xds, GOT, Doshaka & CM.
Do not wait for it my friend, get it from here its save & awsome.
I have a CDMA Motorola Milestone A854 from MTS in Manitoba, Canada. I have cm7 installed with gingerbread 2.3.3. I am need to return to stock to have my phone serviced. However, the problem that I have is that the backup of the stock os disappeared on me. So, now I am unable to get the phone back to stock. How would I go about this now? Is there a place that I can get the stock rom? I have found one site, but it only has the Milestone from Telus.
Help please.
Nope. There is no stock rom available for it afaik.

2.3.5 is in the wild for chinese and brazillian owners, Canadians are just lucky enough to have a similar model
Will it work on our phones? Can it be ported? Kinda like the Atrix rom for the X2.
Willis,
how can I get 2.3.5 or 2.3.7 to my XT862(used with brazilian GSM carrier)?

You would have to make a cwm flashable .zip out of the bell 2.3.x and possibly copy over a few modules to get it boot. Easiest way would be to just make a safestrap rom out of it and flash and see if it boots.
Why would you want 2.3.5 over 2.3.4 so badly?

Upgrades I guess, although if someone gets this down they can do it for all other roms, not just 2.3.5.
OK, my wife has a motorola milestone x2 on ntelos network. I was in the process of searching for a rom when she decided to take the update from 2.3.5 to 2.3.6. Everything i have read leeds me to believe i cant sbf back to 2.3.5. there is only 1 sbf file for her phone specific to ntelos wireless. Im scared to try it to be honest,i can do anything and everything when it comes to my milestone x/droid x.basiclly, can i sbf from 2.3.6 to 2.3.5?or are there any roms for the 2.3.6 update? I was able to root but would like to flash some roms and give her more options.i am aware that the droid x2 is twin to milestone x2 as is the d/x and m/x.im running chevy no1 ssx rom for droid x on milestone x. anyway, any info would be helpful and greatly appreciated.
