I've noticed over the past few days that when removing my charger from the socket that its making a fizzing noise is this something I should be worried about?

Lol just worried ill be woken by a house fire one evening didn't know if other people have the same issue, it fizzes for around 30 seconds after being unplugged and all the time when plugged in.
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
From what I've heard, a large percentage of the LG chargers do make this noise (including mine), and I guess the volume varies too.
It does mean that it's a cheap, crappy charger but if you're not seeing any side-effects (such as the phone shutting off while charging) then it shouldn't matter. However I would advise to switch it off or unplug when not using it.
Mine is fizzing as well. As a precaution I remove the charger from the wall socket whenever I'm not around for a prolonged period of time. For what its worth: my phone randomly freezes both when charging and when not.
Dont worry. It's pretty common for cheap SMPS's. What you hear is the power supply's switching frequency
Yeah I've had the auto shut offs to and was hoping that that was down to a software problem? Hopefully chargers are not to blame.

Why not? Easy to swap a charger (as opposed to the phone itself! )

Hello
The day before I got my Lg O2X and am now experiencing overheating (I think). The app which I have installed shows 42C while charging the battery is a bit warm.
Can anyone suggest me a good app so that I can confirm it?
And yeah I live in India so temperature is a bit high over here 32C when I posted this.
Update: I just noticed as the battery reached 90% charging it started to cool down at the moment it is at 36.7C at 96% (with no change in placement of the phone).
Ya man..the battery of every device heats up while charging and yes i also live in India and if u use ur phone while recharging it goes upto 42°C..
Try not using while charging..
Cheers

Battery life sucks too on the stock rom :/

Just buy some spare batteries 2.80usd shipped each. And external battery wall charger $3.50

I guess installing a custom rom would also help.
Im the meanwhile I‘ll get an extra battery.

Do note that heat is directly proportionate to the amount of power the phone uses. Generally I find custom roms/kernels to be more power hungry than the standard ones.

Mine overheates only while I'm playing and charging in the meanwhile, or in car, navigating and charging.. It's a lot of battery consumption and totally normal..
Leaked GB 20i (topogigi) has a good battery life, the only thing is a battery drain in data mode, but for instance wifi is going really well!

Most people say it makes their battery cycle longer and battery rarely goes to 40C!

Anyone having problems with the charger? I'm having problems with the charger provided in the box.. It's having low ringing or buzzing sound when I was charging my note.. It's sound like those high hertz electronic insects replent sound.. Should I continue using or go down to service center? Thanks..

hmmm... but for testing you should try first then you can go for replacement.
this happened to me too the other day. I was actually very worried.
But the ringing/buzzing sound was no longer there the next day. It's not buzzing/ringing too right now.
I'm wondering whether I should have it replaced too already.
Then should not worry about. , i guess may be software bug, but if its happens again , then u should go Samsung service center.
i would say that a very faint sound is normal.... even my nokia n97 original charger makes this sound... and to be precise this sound starts after the phone gets fully charged....!!!
yeh same "problem" here.I think it is normal. by the way when i connect phone to charger that strange sound stops.
Quick question: If I leave my phone charging all night, when it gets to 100%, will it keep charging and make my phone explode?
And if it doesn't and somehow just stops receiving a charge once it's full, will any electricity be used?
I charged whole night and its safe and good.may depend on voltage. Wait for some better answer and check it.

LoL if it were only that simple... Anyways I left mine on the charger for almost a full day without use and no harm has come to it. Still has the same battery life as before.

You should have no problem with overcharging. I think the Note manages the charging at 100% by using the battery for a time and then charging again for a while. I often have the Note in my card dock for extended trips where it sits fully charged. My battery usage is still the same so there seems to be no problems.

I'd agree with this statement. To illustrate this, you can use an App to track the mV value of the battery rise and fall whilst still on the charger at 100%.

I plugged in my phone for 20 seconds and I went to check for email notifications and to my amazement it's fully charged.
This is now another possibility in battery issues. I know I'm using a faulty device (that's why I ordered a RMA) but this is kinda odd so I thought I'd share it with you guys.
Let's hope this instant charge sticks lol. I went from 7% to 100% in 20 seconds.

Had that also one or two times. If you leave it plugged in it goes back to the correct percentage after some minutes.
Likewise a minor software glitch that will get fixed soon, nothing to worry.

Good for example you need to go somewhere and you forget to charge it. Just plug it in for 20 sec and bam it's fully charged and problem solved.

AW: Instant Battery Charge Glitch
This happens when you plug in the phone and the wall charger has no voltage, e.g. because you use a switch that is off. If you switch it on, the glitch occurs and the phone is instantly charged. Of course that's not really the case, though. Rebooting solves this most of the time.

The Galaxy Nexus had none of these issues. I just hope that Google fixes this soon.

this is a non-issue as it is charging fine when left. no disadvantages except when you really believe it is fully charged in a second.

Nope. It doesn't let me continue to charge until I restart the phone (for me at least).
My phone did this last night. I noticed it right away, so I just unplugged the cable and plugged it back in and bam it went back to charging its merry little heart out

I am also experiencing this issue with a Nexus 4 (few weeks old) running Andriod 4.2.2.
Anyone know if this issue is fixed in upcoming release?
Just happened on my Nexus with Nokia 1.2mAh charger and latest CM10.1 nightly, reboot solved it though

I think this is correct. I've had this happen 3 times in 6 months and it's only happened when I plug the phone into the charger right after plugging the charger into the wall.
I've since tried to leave the charger plugged in about 10-20 seconds before attaching the phone and it hasn't happened since (~3 months)

Happened to me one night but when i unplugged my phone in the morning, it went down to 40% :/ so evidently it didnt continue charging after glitching. Battery usage pane confirmed this.

You should never attend a call while charging and you should never touch your phone to you ear while charging
Many people died within last 2 years because of this...
And you should attend phone calls with left ear as it takes less radiations than the right ear

Yes it will increase charging speed.
But the battery life cycle will be affected,
So my recommendation is not to charge with any other charger.

When I'm far from home I carry my Samsung charger, as it gives away 1Amp. But when I'm home I always use my Moto's.
This way, I don't overuse the Sam's charger and keep things ballanced.
